You responded to me, yet at the same time, you still did not say what you believe newbies need to learn.

How to go about bitcoin investments?  What is that?

How bitcoin works?  what is that?

and basic knowledge?  what is that?

Why does the bitcoin newbie have to learn these vague things that you listed before he starts?  Why can't the bitcoin newbie start and learn as he goes?

Are you presuming a newbie bitcoiner to not know anything?

What if he knows that he has discretionary income?  Shouldn't that be enough to get started?

Why can't the bitcoin newbie just choose his position size?  What if he knows that he has $100 per week that he could use to buy bitcoin, yet since he is a bitcoin newbie, he purposefully chooses to ONLY invest $30 per week while he learns. What is wrong with that?
I'm not kicking against how important and necessary for a newbie should always get started and not to wait once there is available discretionary income which regulate on how deep newbies or investors commit themselves in buying Bitcoin aggressively or gradually by gradually and at the same time learn more while he proceed with his investment journey, so what  i was really emphasizing on was that, a newbie should know or learn before get started, he needs to create a digital wallet exchange and get himself registered and this creation of digital wallet exchange stuff is something that every newbies should be very careful of because any mistakes can lead to lost of fund because i can remember on how deal with copying the wrong phrase of my wallet, when i was still coming up as a newbie, so I'm just suggesting that a should be careful with anything connected to wallets.
On the one hand, you say that new investors shouldn't wait unnecessarily if they have discretionary income. But then you say that new investors need to learn about wallets before they start. Isn't that a two-sided issue?

However, your first part was right. If a new investor already has discretionary income, excluding all his necessary expenses, then there should be no excuse for him to start. If someone can determine his discretionary income after meeting all his necessary expenses and starts with a small amount, then there is no need to make it mandatory to learn all kinds of wallets, self-custody and security methods in advance. Because when he starts, he can make his own decision. If he is not yet aware of wallets, then he can start from exchanges and continue learning. He can continue saving on exchanges until he learns about his own custody, wallets, security. Then when he is ready about all his security, he can transfer to his own wallet. But making it mandatory to learn wallets, self-custody, security first can put the new investor in a difficult position. He may not even start.

There’s no reason for folks to start complicating things for themselves, like thinking you need to go deep in to learning how bitcoin works (with the technical aspects), before you can get started . In what such mindset you are already wasting time and missing good buying opportunities because the Market prices wait for no one , what you actually need is the basic knowledge (like where to buy , where to store , ).  which wouldn’t take much time to grasp , as time goes you can decide to go further in your learning as you accumulate to build more understanding and confidence.
Folk don't need to go deep in knowledge like knowing everything about bitcoin before they are ready to invest rather they only need discretionary income and basic knowledge. It is a wast of time studying to have complete knowledge when folks can get started using their discretionary fund. If folk have the basics knowledge there's no need knowing everything about bitcoin because doing so might delay them from kickstarting their bitcoin accumulation journey. Since what folks needs is only their discretionary and basics knowledge to get started there's no reason why they should wasting further time trying to know everything about bitcoin rather they should get started at once, they will learn more as they invest.
I cannot say that it is a waste of time for any folks to want to study deep about Bitcoin knowledge before they start to invest in it, it is not necessary yet I wouldn't call it a waste of time to aquire deep knowledge before starting. If some folks decides to keep their money aside and wants to equip themselves with the technical knowledge of Bitcoin to perhaps satisfy their curiosity about it I believe that they are entitled to it.

I however agree that it is not necessary to know the technical aspects of Bitcoin technology before starting it's investment, what is key is to know reliable sources to buy from and understand that Bitcoin is volatile. Buy with your discretionary funds and choose one or more accumulation strategies that should include DCA or do DCA alone then hold for many years, possibly up to 10 years or more if you can.
It is not a good idea for someone that is able to figure out there discretionary income for then not to invest in bitcoin because they want to learn or gain more knowledge about bitcoin before starting. This will make them to remain without having a single bitcoin and they may even end up not investing at all. The most important thing is that they have figured out there discretionary income and also with common sense they can be able to start without having acquired or gain most of the knowledge that some good things are important before starting.

So you don't want newbies to start before they learn some things, including learning about bitcoin wallets.
I've learnt so much from different Bitcoin investment strategy threads that JJG is active on that a newbie don't have to gather extensive knowledge and experience before starting as an investor. It was a big relief for me to know that I don't have to get all the technical knowledge and deep understanding about the market before I can start to invest in Bitcoin as a newbie.

What a newbie basically needs to start is discretionary funds, create a Bitcoin wallet and know reputable platforms or people to buy from. Bitcoin knowledge is quite vast so if you want to be an investor you should first focus on the basic which is what I just mentioned then gradually start to research and increase your knowledge.

Person that is A No coiner should have not business delaying just because the person wants to be learning about which wallet they can use and which shouldn't. Wasting time to start learning about good wallet is so not productive because at that time person do yet have any bitcoin stash to protect.A no coiner goal is to start accumulating and keep on accumulating ongoingly using their discretionary income for a long time that is a above four to ten years  Beginners make mistakes in the beginning, so it is good for beginners to start small and be increasing it along the way
A newbie can start from a CEX and keep holding there while he/she remains committed to learning and updating their knowledge about bitcoin and proper storage with non'custodial wallets, including best choice of wallet and proper security of funds through storing seed phrases offline and securely and not trusting a third party with it. These might take a while to properly learn it and a newbie should not postpone their investment starting because they want to gain these knowledge, if they do, they would be delaying their investment unnecessarily and they may even use the first wallet they learn from social media which might most likely be Trust Wallet of which is closed source or even Ledger and may be a victim. they would also spend so much on fees if they withdraw weekly which might scare them a lot if the fees are high at the time they get into bitcoin.

It is best they take their time to properly learn about these things while they continue buying and holding/consolidating on an exchange, perhaps if they are buying $50 weekly, they can consolidate up to $500 for 10 weeks and withdraw their coins to self-custody wallets, 10 weeks might be a good timeframe to learn some wallet concepts properly while they didn't miss out on starting and maintaining their consistency because they were pursuing extra knowledge about bitcoin safe preservation.
I agree with you. Those who still do not know about self-custody, wallets, and security can start from the exchange and continue learning at the same time. But it may be foolish to wait for months just for the sake of learning. Because they may regret not starting earlier. However, there is no need to keep a specific limit of 10 weeks or $500 on the exchange. Because for some people, $500 may seem like a small amount, but for some, it may be equal to the necessary expenses of a few months. So, until a person understands his wallet, self-custody, and security well, he can keep it on the exchange for learning purposes. When he is sure of his security, he can bring it to his own wallet.

It is true that people can not invest in what they don't know, but bitcoin investment is not like every other investment that takes much external influence to decide it's return on your investments. What you need before you kickstart your investments is only a basic knowledge of bitcoin because when you said "deep knowledge of bitcoin", I see it as an easy way of wasting all your time studying what you may never understand and before you realise that you have wasted your time, you may also get tired and doubt if you still want to invest in bitcoin.

It will be a wrong advise to beginners to think of going into deep study of bitcoin because they may end of going to study how the price is moving and try predicting the market and also timing the market because the more they study, the more they believe they can easily time the market. Bitcoin is not supposed to be a course especially among beginners who need to breakout of the no coiners zone to become active investors.

Once a person is able to figure out his discretionary income, next is to understand that he needs to hold his investment for a long-term and then he gets a wallet and start his investment. Every other thing can be learned in the process instead of sitting back and studying what you may not easily learn.

Well the possibility to get the building of the fast fund and accumulate Bitcoin is the same way for you to have source income and stay patient to pay. Something I like to get is the best way to avoid using the emergency money to buy Bitcoin in the work market dip. People who are willingly tempted to do  that main purpose to emergency money is to complete the process expenses up the investment for increased.
The purpose of an emergency fund is to solve a problem in an emergency without having to withdraw your Bitcoin holdings. That emergency could be when you are unemployed or need money for a medical condition, and you may not be able to earn money at that time. If you have an emergency fund that is enough to cover your family's daily needs for 6 months in an emergency, but you may not need that much money. In such a situation keep an emergency fund available for 3 months and use the remaining funds to buy Bitcoin aggressively in the bearish period.

You may not always need an emergency fund, but you should always be prepared. I am not advocating buying Bitcoin with an emergency fund but as I have already said, if you have an excess amount, you should ensure that you use that fund properly.

Countless numbers of time folks have mentioned that Bitcoin is very vast.. And this vastness make it possible from know everything about Bitcoin in a short time.. That why it's best that folks start as soon as possible and then learn as they go, coz really there is no gain in self exclusive...

It is possible to start investing in Bitcoin with a small amount according to your comfort level if you have discretionary funds. To start investing in Bitcoin, only some discretionary funds and common sense are enough. A new investor can decide the amount of investment according to his comfort level and learn as he goes. There is no need to delay unnecessarily based on some vague ideas to ensure that our knowledge is sufficient to start. If we can assess whether we have discretionary funds. And if we do, we can start with an amount from $100 to $10 or any other amount, we can assume that we have discretionary funds to invest. We can reduce our investment amount until we feel more comfortable.

It is never a good idea to invest the required amount of money in any situation or to invest the money outside the discretionary income. Whenever a person invests outside the discretionary income, he will definitely invest the required amount of money which is not a good idea at all and will put his investment at risk. A person can buy aggressively every time but it depends on his financial situation. Being aggressive is sustainable but being overly aggressive is not sustainable. You can invest as aggressively as possible without going overboard for years. But yes, you have to find out how aggressive you can be through proper financial management.

it is best for anyone that is investing in bitcoin to start with there bitcoin investment and then they can learn or acquire whatever knowledge that they feel is essential as they go on with there bitcoin investment. The idea of wanting to acquire or learn more about bitcoin investment before starting will only leads to delays and the possibility of missing out in utilising market opportunities.
The reason why some feel that they need to know or acquire knowledge about bitcoin before starting is because of fear but with common sense, they can be able to start there bitcoin investment after they have figured out there discretionary income.

Buy with your discretionary funds and choose one or more accumulation strategies that should include DCA or do DCA alone then hold for many years, possibly up to 10 years or more if you can.
People cannot invest in what they do not know nothing about, even if Bitcoin investment can be kick start without studying deep about Bitcoin knowledge, it is not a waste of time if people decides to study deep about Bitcoin knowledge before kick starting their Bitcoin investment. But people who already figured out their discretionary income, how much of their discretionary income they want to allocate for Bitcoin investment and building various back up funds, they do not need to learn deep about Bitcoin knowledge, once they acquire the basic knowledge of Bitcoin, they can kick start their Bitcoin investment and continue learning about Bitcoin as they are accumulating Bitcoin.

I concur that novices do not have to take months to master every little thing about Bitcoin before making an investment. Learning through practice can be more effective than taking too much time before getting everything clear. If one postpones their first investments in search of comprehensive knowledge about everything, he will probably never start at all.

On the other hand, there are some aspects that must always be considered. Every novice has to know how to make his wallet safe, how to keep his seed phrase securely, how to distinguish popular scams, and invest only disposable money. After that, everything else can be learned step-by-step through reading and active participation in the Bitcoin community. It is impossible to wait for total knowledge because even professional Bitcoin users learn something new all the time.

Time and circumstances tempt people to do many things and truly create opportunities. Some people get ruined by greed, while others implement the opportunity with the right plan and change their lives. In the case of investing in Bitcoin, such situations have to be faced. In this, a big drop in price often creates an extraordinary buying opportunity. But it is not wise to use all kinds of money for it just because an opportunity looks good.

The purpose of an emergency fund is completely different. It is used for this reason when the investor loses his job, falls ill or suffers an accident. If you use that money to invest, you lose an important level of financial security. However, if the purpose of using an emergency fund is to increase investment, then in my opinion it is not the right decision. Keep the emergency fund as an emergency fund. If there is a big fall in the market, if you want to invest more, then you can have a separate fund for that purpose in advance or if you have extra money in hand, or you can keep an opportunity fund. In this, opportunities can also be utilized, and the emergency fund remains intact.

I really don't understand you.. Why do you think there is any benefit in wasting your precious time in the acquisition of knowledge right before kickstarting your investment journey? Countless numbers of time folks have mentioned that Bitcoin is very vast.. And this vastness make it possible from know everything about Bitcoin in a short time.. That why it's best that folks start as soon as possible and then learn as they go, coz really there is no gain in self exclusive...
He was right about one thing, people cannot invest in what they do not know nothing about, unless someone else is doing the investment for them as is happening in some cases, you need to stop least have heard about bitcoin for you to on your own be able to invest in it, bitcoin investment isn't a ghost investment, where he is wrong is saying that people can decide to study deeply about bitcoin before they can start investing, people can do that but it's not the right thing for them to do it they truly want to become bitcoin investors.

This long list of requirements is not compulsory for person to have before they can start to ongoingly invest. Anybody that invest there time to learn all that you mentioned before they start to buy will just be wasting their time and years. Even if person spend 50 yrs learning Bitcoin, the person cannot be free from mistakes. Nobody can be above making mistakes, so what is the point of wasting time learning what you can learn while you are ongoingly investing.

Just having discretionary income to invest and common sense to figure the amount to use to invest is okay for person to use to start their ongoing investment, and along the way they can continue learning

Bitcoin works with time and if you miss a buying opportunity you might never come across it again so instead of waiting to figure out those long list, people who are interested in owning Bitcoin should figure out their discretionary fund which is most important to get started, then every other thing can come after.
Because if an investor ends ups figuring others but haven't figured out the discretionary fund then it's like a waste of time cause one won't use those long list he mentioned to buy Bitcoin but the discretionary funds, which is why it’s important to get started.

People don't need to know much to start buying bitcoin but I want to say that one of the things that people who want to start bitcoin investment should know is that bitcoin investment isn't a get rich quick scheme, if they are hoping to quickly become rich from just buying bitcoin over a short period of time then they are bound to get disappointed because that's not how bitcoin works, anyone who wants to invest in bitcoin should do so with the mindset that bitcoin investment is a long term investment and that it should be done with their discretionary income.

Fight the urge to use your emergency funds to buy bitcoin because you are still going to see the impact later on , and it won’t be a good one using money you can’t hold for long will definitely lead to you selling too early , seeing your holding as your emergency funds , instead of using your emergency funds to buy bitcoin just maintain your slow pace accumulation and make sure you are doing it right than trying to rush the process to the point of being too aggressive.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

[edited out]
I've learnt so much from different Bitcoin investment strategy threads that JJG is active on that a newbie don't have to gather extensive knowledge and experience before starting as an investor.

Of course, any bitcoin newbie has to be able to exercise reasonable judgement so that he can choose his starting out position size, and to make adjustments as he goes, so any newbie might have had figured out how much discretionary funds that he has available every week, such as $100 per week, so then to start he might decide to invest $30, save $30 and discretionarily spend $30, yet if he is reading about his location to source his bitcoins, he may well decide that he is going to spend 1-4 hours per week learning about bitcoin and learning about his cashflow management practices, and so there are a lot of things that could be learned, yet we don't know if the guy already has a lot of knowledge, skills and experiences, and maybe he tries to begin to focus on ways that he might be able to increase his discretionary income by increasing his income and/or decreasing his expenses.

He might come accross some information that relates to how he might frame his 9 individual factors, so he might need to look into his individual factors.  He might have to create spreadsheets, tables and charts to figure out what his various possible income and expenses are presently and what they might be in the future, and the same is true with any investments that he might have or that he might consider for the future.  For sure, as his bitcoin grows in value, he will want to make sure that he is protecting his bitcoin, yet he might choose to keep 10% or so of his bitcoin on exchanges, or he might want to explore other places to buy or sell his bitcoin (not that he would be selling in his early stages of bitcoin accumulation, except maybe spend and replace).

There can be a lot of things to learn about bitcoin and about cashflow management that are particular to a person's circumstances, yet many of us know that there is a lot of value in getting started, even if you might choose to purposefully start with a smaller amount and then work your way up to larger amounts as you become more comfortable.  Of course, there are some people who might come to bitcoin and they already have other investments and savings, and they might purposefully want to start to put a larger amount into bitcoin, and surely whenever there is a larger amount of money, then that money could be considered in terms of three categories of buying bitcoin which is 1) buying right away, 2) deferring based on time (DCA) and/or 3) deferring based on price (buying the dips that might not end up happening). When a person is new, they may want to get into bitcoin quickly, but at the same time, they still may want to pace themselves in accordance with their comfort level, so they might have to give some thoughts in regards to how they might establish their initial bitcoin buying plan, so maybe tentatively they have a budget in mind for 6 months, based on their income and based on money that they have in other investments (or savings), yet, they may well purposefully spread out their intended bitcoin buys over 6 months while they had gotten started but they are starting out slowly and then perhaps adjusting their initial entry plan as they go and as they learn more about both bitcoin and cashflow management..

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k
