If you like drinking alcohol, what makes you continue to drink it? Because you enjoy drinking it but it is good to drink responsibly. That is how gambling is and it is good to gamble responsibly. Many people gamble for fun while some people just like how to use small money for it.

If anyone is losing more and getting addicted, the person can stop gambling.

I’m not profitable either, most of us aren’t. But why do we keep coming back? It almost feels like magic sometimes.

Thinking about it, I guess it’s the challenge and the fun that keeps me coming back. Sure, sometimes I win, and that gives me a sense of fulfillment, but I always end up trying again. It's the lure of it, and even if we are losing, we wanted to explore and try to see if we will be lucky or not. And most likely that's what makes us gambler stick and continue despite suffering big losses.

Well it's obvious that winning is that you doubled your initial capital or make it multiply. But that is the thing, even if we win, we sometimes doesn't want to stop and then chase for me. And that's why the industry is growing because it seems that we are really attracted to gambling, every year there are thousands or even millions being suckered to this world that we can't get out once we are inside.

The value that I get in gambling is the thrill of trying my luck, life is all about taking risks and pushing ourselves to the limit. I don't really care anymore if I win in gambling because what is the need when I know that I'd most likely lose than win. I've also taken gambling as an entertainment that I have to pay while enjoying myself because there's no other way to look at it. If you remove the concept of entertainment or having fun in gambling it'll see as if we're fooling ourselves because we mostly don't have a 50 50 chance of winning. That is why it's good to gamble with small amounts that won't affect you if you lose.

Being someone that has won large amounts many times on dice is what keeps me coming back. I know massive wins are out there on certain games, but I also know that there are massive losses waiting for those who like to play the slots. Yes you can get a big win on them, but most likely you are not gonna be on much profit if you do. Dice, Limbo, and other dice variations are where I have found the most luck. Is pretty obvious that gambling is a game of luck, so most people doesn't always gamble to become rich quick through gambling. Rather it is only the fun and entertainment that keeps them coming back to gamble hoping that one day would definitely be there own turn to win. And that is how is supposed to be because gambling is more of losses than winnings, so as a good gambler that understand gambling very well would never in any way think of quitting gambling. Rather you would only gamble with the amount that you can afford to lose because it is only when you gamble above your limit that you wouldn't enjoy gambling.

The possibility of winning, of making money, is always just right around the corner, right in front of us. It could happen anytime. You could get that money, that prize, anytime. Why in the name of god is such a trivial thing so complicated ??

-you win a bet, you win!
-you lose a bet, you lose!
-after 100 bets you have a positive balance, you're in profit!
-after 100 bets you have a negative balance, you're at a loss!

You can win and still lose at the end of the month, you can lose all month all bets but one and end in profit!
And most important of all, you can not even care about anything and just have fun betting!

That's actually a tough question.

I always think that those who quit after winning a high amount of money are the winners in gambling. But what if the gambler is still playing after a big win? What is the "real winner" for him/her?

I guess it's how we are satisfied. Is the money enough to satisfy us and stop gambling, or as the winning amount grows, will we not stop? I think it depends on the perspective of each gambler whether he is easily satisfied or his greed increases as he plays/wins more.

Have you gotten involved in something that promises a fortune in the long run? You think it's that easy to just quite it half way even when you've lost an amount of money? It's not that easy.

We all know what a win in gambling is but the fact that you can win even more always gives you the idea that continuous playing will yield even better result. The stats are available and all speaks to the fact that there are more losses than gains in gambling but then, the thought the the next game can yield your much anticipated win always gives one the push to keep going for more. My definition of a win is just when I win, the bigger question is then, what do you do after you've won? Should you walk away or keep gambling?

I mostly bet on underdog, that's why I'm excited whenever I won, unlike if I bet on favorite, it's expected I should be won.

It’s the same as when someone with a sweet tooth eats one more pastry. Deep down, they understand that those sweet pastries are bad for their health and will only make them gain more weight. Logically, the conclusion would be to stop eating them because it’s harmful, but they keep eating. The same can be said about gambling. A gambler who tracks their stats will see that they’re losing more than they’re winning, yet they continue to play. Why? Probably because they enjoy it. And also because they believe that one day they’ll win big and cover all their losses.

Personally I define it as winning big (Bigger on what you've lost) as you can see in gambling especially in slots some people do win more than $10000 in a small bet I would say I already win in gambling if I managed to win at least more than $3000 playing slot no matter how big my losses. I think at least $2k would already cover all my losses. For some people they might say that as long as they are entertained they already feel that they are winning but in reality someone like me still hoping to hit a one time big time.

Hope is what many gambles lingers on, there is level to the hopes we all have with gambling and mine is probably one of the smallest because I know how tough it is when it comes to luck

Something that doesn't happen all the time, maybe in a blue moon, you also can't force it to happen by power or energy, it comes when it want to, meaning I am powerless over luck no matter how hard I try.

The only thing left is having a good time with slot games and others when I feel like I need to experience gambling again, it's not my every day hobby anyway it's something I do when I feel like I missed doing it.

Definition of a win in a gambling in general is simply when we make profit but for me the real winning in gambling is when I can beat my own greed and when I can stay away from the negative effect of gambling such as financial issue and addiction. What makes me coming back is nothing else except because I like to play the game regardless the previous result of my gambling activity. Not to recover when I lose some money previously and not to chase more wins when I win. Of course I will not deny that I want more money anytime I start my gambling activity but I do not take it as the main goal of gambling.

It only looks paradoxical if you think about it from the point of view of impersonal statistics. But the same statistics tell us that there are lucky people. The gambler continues to play because he hopes that he personally will be among the lucky ones. And every gambler hopes for it. Therefore, people will always gamble.

So the key to understanding is not in defining the concept of winning, but in understanding that gambling has a lot of personal, subjective things, and it is impossible to evaluate the psychology of gamblers from the point of view of statistics, as this leads to absurdity ("Why do they play if they lose most cases?"). The fact of the matter is that there are no "they". There are many selves. And then there is no absurdity.

You are very funny, In addition to what oshosondy asked you, people that smoke, club, womanize,get addicted into hard drug or taken things there body don't want, does it also means that they get benefits from it? No. One important thing you need to know is that Most things people spend money on doesn't have any benefits but people just get addicted into it and that includes gambling. Most people who gamble without win, do it for fun without considering the amount they lose. So it's a Matter of choice and individual differences.

Wining is just an achievement of something you find difficult to overcome but finally overcome it. To every gambler who comes back to bet regardless of their loses, always have the hope that they must win someday. They strive effortlessly believing they'll gonna win one day.
