Yes, in the world of sports, especially football, there will be many bettors who initially do not like the sport, but after placing a bet they will like it, especially if they win and that will make them even more excited. However, it will be different from people who initially like the sport because they bet only for a different sensation when watching it by doing in-depth research can increase their knowledge about the sport they like and when betting or not they still watch it. And for those who like it after placing a bet, most of them will watch the match from the team they bet on, some even don't at all just look at the results or see the score without watching it. So there is still a difference between the two because some of my friends like sports betting but don't care to watch it and that is real and I think there is a difference like that.

There's nothing bad in this kind of decision, it's all about individual choices and preference to gambling, sometimes we also need information about a sport as we are gamblers, despite we all have various reasons that lef us to whom we are and why we came about gambling, so I will admit that this is more interesting for one to be a lover of sport and also gamble, because things will not be hard to predict about gambling on sport bets

Yes, I have a friend initially he is a fan of one of the sports, he is also one of the sports sponsors, Over time, I thought my friend was just a fan, one day I found the person he invited to place a bet told me to gamble and I asked who the opponent was, then he told me also one of the friends too.

There I judge, so fans of general sports they are involved in gambling and such situations are almost on average, sports fans and they are involved in gambling.

I find no fault with that, if someone who's used to be a gambler tried to jump onto a sport and becomes a fan of it. We all started from nothing and there are sports fan that have turned to gamblers as well. So, the vice versa is there and interest is being caught by everyone depends on how we're enjoying it. And this is the personal trip of everyone who are into that situation. So, it is not a major concern of other people if they see someone tries to get into gambling and sports, vice versa.

Personally, I feel the opposite, I like sports then I gamble because of the sport I like so I continue to gamble and even spread to other games.
However, there are also the opposite, sometimes someone decides to study a sport for the gambling purposes that they do so that gradually they like the sport, I also don't think there is anything wrong between the two, even though it happens very often.

There's nothing wrong with being a sports fan and also a gambler, this even makes it more thrilling and entertaining for you as a person that's into sports betting. But this can get out of hand when you don't gamble moderately. As a football fan that loves to gamble it's always exciting for me to place a bet on my favorite team, this makes the game more enjoyable to watch. Funny that for me it was vice-versa as I was a fan of sports and after that I discovered that you can bet on them and everything changed. However , I can say I made some favorites teams because of gambling on them or simply discovering them from gambling. Best example I can give is with Esports as I'm a huge fan of watching Cs2 and Dota 2 tournaments and this is because of betting as otherwise I wouldn't have got engaged and I would have still prefer to run a game instead of watching on Twitch.

Becoming a sports fan because you want to gamble is what you should not do. You will bring emotions into your betting decisions which will affects your analysis and then the outcome. If you want to be a sports fan, be a sports fan but not because of betting. There are seasons where your club which you are fanning would not perform well and if out of loyalty to the club you continue to bet on them and hope they will, you will run at a magnificent loss.

In my opinion, it does not make sense. It makes sense if due to sports betting, people who gamble become sports fans of a certain team.  The one I stated makes more sense because when a person bet on a team, they tend to watch them play, and if by chance the gambler saw a performance that amazes him, he will then become a fan of that team.

If you are choosing between your favorite team (underdog) and the crowd's favorite, it will certainly affect your decision because instead of going to the stronger team, you will be choosing your favorite team not because of the statistics but because you already trust that team.

I personally liked sports before I knew about betting but maybe the difference is when I started betting I almost explored all the leagues unlike before which was only focused on one league and I was more required to deepen my knowledge of each team besides unlike before now I don't miss any news about sports but maybe on the other hand there are also people who become sports fans because they want to bet.

The same happen this in my case I was addicted to be sports without having any knowledge of betting because things were really great in early age always enjoying reading and playing things were going on right path with friends and family but who know when it takes changes, and you ended on another way.

Choosing to be a particular Sport fan simply because you want to gamble is literally not a bad idea, but rather the perfect idea, as by so doing, you gets to know more about the Sport than before, which will literally give you an edge while gambling, because imagine knowing all the strong and weak teams or an athlete and factors that affect their performance, such statistics could be useful while gambling, because it only takes someone with high knowledge about a Sport to place a bet with higher chances of winning, despite the fact that luck also plays a key role. I will say yes, based on the fact that I know  people that have ended up liking sports because of gambling, they were people that didn't even have interest in sports games but when they developed interest to gamble they had the urge to start following sports actions and ended up liking sports because they thought that's what can help them to win, even if that not true. I didn't even have as much interest in sports and game as much as I do right now because that what makes it so fun.

I started to gamble in sports because of my interests in the sports I'm watching, and because of my analysis, I don't think I can bet and continue betting on sports where I am not interested in, I few losses will fade my interest compared to when I'm interested in the sports I'm betting I can lose many times but I'll still comeback to correct my mistakes.

That can really happen, op, but like others who say that sports betting is different from gambling itself, in which case I agree with their opinion, because in sports betting, if you want to win at sportsbet, you must have some knowledge of the teams that are fighting.

It really depends on the situation and the initial goal, some people will continue to like a certain sport even after quitting gambling, the habit turns into a hobby and continues for a long time. Others will stop, because basically their goal is only to add information so they can increase their chances of winning when they place a bet.

In general, there are many gamblers who like to follow various sports, only one or two sports are their favorites. For football fans, for example, they will still go to the stadium or watch the match on TV on the weekend to watch their favorite team compete. My own experience tells me otherwise. It is usually the people who like to watch sports end up liking gambling as well.

A guy who likes to watch sports, his favorite team, other teams… Soon he notices that he knows way too much about the game he is watching. Players, coaches , referees, stadiums…

It doesn’t take long before he asks, “What if I use my knowledge to make money betting on sports?”

That’s when he gets hooked.

Well said, I don't expect that we gamble on sport we don't have interest in, so when we gambles, it should majorly be from the sports we like or enjoy best, the same way it applies to everything that has to do with the game we play while gambling, there's no doubt friends could influence our interest in playing some particular games, also as regard those that may only watch how these match were being played without gambling, falls under another category, while some will combine everything together in other to enjoy gambling from the sport they like most.

Haha yeah, it can happen and happened to me as well. Few years ago I wasn't much into UFC, if at all. Then during the covid-19 times, almost all sports were dried up but UFC and Table tennis were still going on so I started betting on them just out of boredom. Since then I have been constantly betting on UFC almost every weekend. Initially I had to search for the fighter names and check predictions to know where to bet. But now I know a good amount of fighters and mostly decide myself.

So, definitely it can happen. I also used to bet on Table tennis but never developed the same feeling for the sport for some reason. I felt like most of the games are rigged and there was no consistency with the performances.

I also agree that there is no problem being a sports fan and being a gambler, but it must be realized that it must be in a reasonable state as you said, that is without involving yourself in bad risks, and must be a responsible gambler. If a gambler does it without any control over finances and emotions, then the possibility that will happen is falling into a deep and dark hole. Therefore, whatever type of sport and gambling we do is still in a reasonable and controlled state, in order to be a responsible gambler, so that we can still enjoy the games and bets that we make.
