I can’t say it was an easy match for Bayern Munich. They always struggle against Union Berlin and I think they struggled again last night.
After making it 3–1, Bayern Munich thought the game would end comfortably, but once Union Berlin made it 3–2, they started pressing more; they just couldn't score the third goal.
With this win, Bayern Munich advanced to the next round.

For two consecutive matches, Bayern conceded two goals against Union Berlin. This is very strange because Union Berlin, even when playing at home, loses against relatively weak opponents. For example, before the game against Bayern, they lost at home against Heidelheim and only managed to score one goal, but strangely, against Bayern they scored two again. I think the Bayern coach needs to improve something in defense; conceding goals in so many games isn't good. In the last six games Bayern played in all competitions, they conceded a goal in every single match.

For once I really thought maybe Bayern Munich would get eliminated.    Because it doesn't sound unlikely to me anymore considering their DFB Pokal history in the last 5 years.

Their biggest record is to reach quarter finals once in this time period. That's it. Now I'm wondering how they are going to end up in the cup. Once again an early elimination or the trophy finally?

For now the matchups aren't decided in the next stage yet.

The comparison between 1.Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal is not accurate since teams priority differ between the two. Bayern Munich main aim is to secure Bundesliga title then DFB-Pokal and UEFA Champions League obviously before both of them. At the opposite, Leipzig knows that Bayern are favourite in Bundesliga so they will try their best to grab the DFB-Pokal. Nevertheless, Bayern Munich is favourite in my opinion too.
This match will be interesting and the winner will face one of the other 1.Bundesliga clubs in the final presumably.

A big match will immediately take place in the DFB Pokal quarterfinals, featuring the current Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich against the second-placed RB Leipzig. It will certainly be the most exciting match in the DFB Pokal quarterfinals, with the game expected to be intense, tight, and interesting. As long as Bayern Munich fields their main starting eleven, I think Bayern Munich will still win this match. In terms of squad and player quality, Bayern Munich is far superior to RB Leipzig.

I'm not surprised by this result, there's another game today, I'm talking about the Holstein Kiel vs. VfB Stuttgart game. I also don't see the result of this game being anything other than favorable for VfB Stuttgart. It's true that you can't underestimate Holstein Kiel, which is in the second division and in 11th place,

but Holstein Kiel In the last 5 games, they only managed 2 wins against Stuttgart, which is in the top league, in 4th place, and in the last 5 games they haven't had a single defeat. I think Stuttgart will win and I'm going to bet on them.

I watched that game and found it very funny, because it seemed to me that VFB Stuttgart wasn't taking it very seriously. They were getting into the Holstein Kiel goalkeeper's area very easily, but they weren't creating much danger. The VFB Stuttgart players were conserving their energy, while on Holstein Kiel's side, the attack was a disaster; they had some good opportunities that the forwards wasted.


It was a good choice for me to bet on VfB Stuttgart to win, the odds were @1.49 which showed that the bookmakers were somewhat concerned that the team might lose with rotations.



Luckily for me, it was a profitable day. Normally, these cup games are very risky to bet on because many teams don't take them very seriously when the games aren't semi-finals or finals.

Leverkusen easily won the game, I expected it to be difficult game, it wasn’t a leave game, and the manager may bench his key players because of the next league games. Leverkusen advance to the next round with a huge win. They needs to maintain this energy in the league, they have dropped many points in their last few games, this is what I wan to see in every game they play.

Stuttgart had a great win away from home to qualify for the next round, Holstein Kiel performance was great in the first half, they blocked Stuttgart goal to end 0-0, but during the second half, they were able to prevent Stuttgart because the second half pressured was much better than the first half, they conceded three goals, and the match ended ended 3-0 victory for the away team.

i don't think there will be any surprise teams in the final in May this year. Stuttgart, Leverkusen, Bayern Müncen and Freiburg will probably reach the semi-finals. i don't think
Hertha BSC Berlin will beat Freiburg. and if the draw goes well, we could see Leverkusen against Bayern Munich in the final.

Fair to say that this season's competition is a bit boring. Only 2 non 1st Bundesliga teams in the last 8 and after yesterday's game there is none left. Shows how big the gap between those 2 leagues is. At least Hertha made it difficult for Freiburg and only lost after penalties, basically anybody's game to win, but Kiel on the other hand had pretty much 0 chance and went out with a weak home effort. Maybe that's why I wasn't even aware they are playing this week, haha. Just not interesting to watch.

as expected, bayern won yesterday's dfb-cup match against leipzig 2-0 (goals: Kane and Diaz) and is back in the semifinals for the first time since 2020
the semifinal pairings will be drawn on february 22... and the following clubs are in the pot: leverkusen, stuttgart, freiburg and bayern

well, my predictions were correct. let's see how many titles Bayern will win at the end of this season. Bundesliga champions, DFB Cup winners and Champions League winners?
anything is still possible this season. the team is in top form and the coach is a great fit for the team. it could be a successful year for the club.

Leverkusen is in good shape since the beginning of 2026, they look like a team that want to win a trophy before the season ends, the team is still playing well without no thinking about selling some players, i did not believe that the team will still be playing well under another coach, Erik Ten hag nearly want to finish Leverkusen by letting the team play like a team that can not compete in any competition this season, Leverkusen did the right thing by sacking Erik Ten Hag and get another coach.

With Bayern Munich current performance in Bundesliga league, I don’t think they can win Champions League this season, they are having a good performance in their league but the performance is not good enough to win Champions League, Bayern Munich find it hard to defeat some teams, if it is the Bayern Munich we all know from the beginning of the season they will have scored more than 2 goals in the first half, I think Vincent Kompany need to do better with his players if not they will not reach semi final in the champions league with their current performance.
