It’s one of those sayings that really sticks, and honestly, it’s something that inspires a lot of us not to give up on gambling too easily But if we really think about it, is having that mindset positive or negative? Does it motivate you, or does it just lead to losing more money in the long run?

Personally, I think I can relate to it. I’ve been gambling for years now, and I’m still here, still placing bets, so yeah I'm not a quitter.

Yes, those who give up never succeed and those who succeed succeed through their hard work and perseverance. But this saying is not applicable to gambling. You can continue gambling without giving up to test your luck and get a big win, but if you continue gambling without giving up, you will only lose your money. And if you lose money for 10 days, you will not be able to make up for your loss by winning one day. So here, if you continue gambling without giving up, the loss may be more than the profit. You can use this saying in any other place, it will be fair, but I do not think this saying is fair in the case of gambling.

It is not just a mentality, but it is a fact. You will never win from gambling when you quit. But this is something that you should be careful of because it is a mentality that can make you gamble without ever considering giving yourself some break, like a pause, which is very necessary.

A responsible gambler should know the best time for what is good for him to do while gambling, not every time we have to gamble and we should have meaning to the reason why we are gambling, we cant just decide on doing something without a reason backing it up, gambling should be for fun, if we think we are indeed enjoying the fun in it, then we can continue to gamble, except if its no more a thing of fun to do and we are by then looking after a winning opportunity, such may be discouraged.

 You're making lots of sense and it's the real deal cause when you give up you'll never win but the joy of winning would attract you to try again some other time, or is their any person who would get a chance to profit from something and flee from it? I don't think so, someone can minimize the way they gamble to avoid addiction but so far they're making profits from it, then they'll fall back to it on different occasions.

 Let's be realistic we do advice people to take gambling as a form of entertainment just for the sake of gambling responsibly which makes lots of sense but think about it, if gambling didn't involve financial profits when you win i don't think much people would go into it for entertainment.

I do have that kind of mentality in pursuit of my life's goals and aspirations, but not when it comes to gambling because I know my place. The moment things are not working out well for me, I used to quit. It is better I lose a few bucks than end up draining my accounts.

I feel like that mentality is no longer in me, maybe I used to be like that, but now I gamble or bet with the aim of getting entertainment. So for now I consider myself as a winner, because I can conquer my ego when gambling, namely by being able to control emotions, finances and time. If we talk about gambling that is done at one time where we have set money against our bankroll (can afford to lose), then I think the winners never quit mentality can be applied as long as the bankroll is still available to be bet.

Not really. Once I hit a huge, the hugest loss during January 2025 I decided to quit and I don't care if quitters never win, I mean not completely, I just try hitting the max multiplier with a low monthly amount which is like 5-7% of the amount I used to gamble before experiencing such huge loss. I love such sayings though and they are a good motivator for a lot of persons though in gambling such sayings can make you go reckless and chase your loses which can result in catastrophic results regarding your finances and money, therefore in gambling never go and be impacted by such sayings which in most of the cases bring really bad results to the person who uses them. Just because we continue placing bets does not mean we are quitter but also does not mean we are winners, we are just trying to hit the max win.

In gambling, I believe the quitters are the winners.

I have a neighbor who deposited 100 PHP three times, and at the last 100 PHP, he won 3500 PHP and never played again after that. I told him he is the real winner when it comes to gambling. Those who never went back after winning such an amount are those who have control of themselves, which also means that they can quit whenever they want after profit.
It's good to have that kind of mentality, although it is difficult, but it gives a person a chance to feel the winnings that he made and spend it on something else.

It's a good mindset but I will never have such in gambling, or else you will end up even more broke, how can you have a positive mindset on something that's created to survive from people's losses? It's clear that gambling isn't a fair game, the house always and will always have the upper hand.
I would rather spent my days on trying to build something that doesn't exists because it's possible to do such with the right mindset than waste your positive mindset on something that's been rigged to make you lose.

They key on here is that you do enjoy on playing gambling and do stick into that principle on which you shouldnt be that go beyond your limits then you should be just that fine. Dont let yourself that ending up on being a quitter just because you have nothing left to play or simply you had fucked up your finances just because of too much gambling. This is where people do usually ends up miserable just because they cant be able to control themselves specially on the money that they are spending. Winners never quit? You wont be quitting if you do see yourself that making money and since its fast money then your mind and emotion will be telling you that you should be continuing on what you are currently doing.   When it comes into this kind of mentality then it would be better that you shouldnt be trying out to apply because if we do speak about that quitters never win then it will be pertaining into those who do quit gambling because they havent been able to win and to those winners that hadnt been able to quit because they do wanted to play even more.

Dont wait up for yourself to become a quitter just because of what i have said above because you have busted up yourself. Quit on the time that you've seen yourself that being that consumed with gambling addiction. We do know that once you do have that addiction then it will be that so hard to get out with that shackle because this is where gamblers do usually be facing on at the moment that they've been that become impulsive. What matter the most on here is on how you do find yourself having that good control towards gambling activity and specially towards your money spending on which this is the most crucial thing on which you do need to take control of or else then you do know on what would happe next.

I think it’s hard to apply this to gambling. Not giving up basically means standing your ground and trying to achieve something. For example, let’s say you want to hit a big win in gambling, but your losses are much more frequent than your wins, and you constantly end up in the red. You can keep going as long as you like, but if this tendency continues, your losses will just keep growing. In order to stand your ground and not give up, you need to change something. So simply sticking to this mindset would be wrong and not enough.

lol, this kind of mindset is literally one of the worst mindsets to have when gambling. I hope you realise that this phrase is also being used as an excuse to chase losses, it also promotes the idea that if you keep gambling, you will eventually win big, which is an extremely bad mindset to have. No offence, but I don't really know why you thought this gambling phrase was good or inspiring. If I were you, I would make sure to have the mindset of "only losing the money you can afford to lose".

In some scenarios, quitters are the winners, because let say you win $1000 from a games, and you quite immediately, you go on to spend to whole money on tangible assets or bills, after a long time you return to gamble again, this time with your $50 to bet on with.


This make you to win, by quiting, because with continues gambling, you definitely will lose along the way, since the outcome of the next game can't be predicted.

I have such mindset but am not a compulsive gambler, that means having such mindset doesn't have any negative effect on me just that it has made me not to have any intentions of quitting gambling any time soon. I have the mindset that if I stop gambling today, maybe I might miss the opportunity to win a jackpots in the future but because am not desperate about winning the jackpot I don't gamble compulsively, I still gamble with the amount I can afford lose knowing that if I am compulsive, I might just lose more than I can really afford to lose.

I think, that is the motivation of people who are addicted, who gamble with the orientation of getting as much profit as possible, and may make gambling their main source of income.

People who understand gambling correctly have principles when gambling, and they don't gamble all the time. A break in gambling is something that is needed, in addition to setting a strategy, it can prevent someone from losing continuously. What is desired in gambling is victory, if what often happens is the opposite, the best choice is to stop temporarily.

Sometimes, the real winners are those who quit; however, it still depends. Talking about those who have difficulties controlling their gambling habits, having the mindset of "winners never quit" or "quitters never win" can cause more harm than good. In most cases, this is the cause of the challenges gambling addicts are facing. They have lived with this negative motivation to the point that it has become too late to quit. At this point, if the gambler can quit and free himself from that motivation that is ruining him, then it is also a win, although not a money win.

It depends on the mentality or the perception of the gambler about this concept. If you see gambling as a means of income and you see this phrase as a motivation to keep gambling regardless of your losses,  it might not be appropriate.  But if you gamble responsibly and believe that one day you will win big, then it's not a bad mindset. When people want to discourage me from gambling, this mentality keeps me going and I don't see it as challenging since I have a gambling budget.
