Do you have this kind of mentality?

It’s one of those sayings that really sticks, and honestly, it’s something that inspires a lot of us not to give up on gambling too easily But if we really think about it, is having that mindset positive or negative? Does it motivate you, or does it just lead to losing more money in the long run?

Personally, I think I can relate to it. I’ve been gambling for years now, and I’m still here, still placing bets, so yeah I'm not a quitter.

Recently, in a program about gambling addicts, they named the main factors that a person can become addicted to gambling. And among these factors was the factor that a person must be very stubborn and very confident in his actions, not listening to anyone and relying only on himself.
Such a gambler or bettor will endlessly listen only to his inner voice and will not listen to the advice of others. Although listening to relatives is very important.

So that inner voice could be negative, while listening to other people means we’re getting positive words? I don’t think we’ve reached that point, because even if you hear sayings like that, it doesn’t automatically mean you’ll become addicted.

Let’s say you stick to your gambling limit and you don’t quit as long as you still have your budget,  that’s still within the safe zone and it still fits the definition. You’re not quitting because you still have money to play with, and that doesn’t mean you’ve lost control.

Theres nothing wrong to quite in gambling if you know to yourself that its not healthy anymore its just normal to settle yourself first that in a good state if you want to stay in gambling its not all about the entertainment but also its all about the mental and emotional state of the person who would like to play now if they arent good anymore to think and decide its considered as not healthy any more to them and one of the best thing is to cut those strings. Now if you still cant do it at least limit the gambling that still base on the willing you take the risk.

No matter how bad the addiction is, it can be cured as long as we have the will to be better in the future, the experience I got was when I didn't give up to get a win, this really made me addicted to gambling, but the good side is that I managed to get a profit that was quite large. So when someone who gambles follows his heart, usually these are those who I think are addicted to gambling because what they want is victory, so they will most likely continue to pursue it even though they have lost many times.

Besides that, why do they follow their hearts more? Because in my opinion, someone who is addicted to gambling usually becomes more stubborn, that's why they ignore advice from others, including their own relatives.

It shouldn’t be about quitting permanently, we’re just talking about one gambling session.
If you’re already losing and feel like you can’t recover, then that’s the time to decide to quit. after all, there will always be other chances to gamble, and we have to understand that winning and losing can happen anytime.

Also,, we need to be ready to accept whatever situation we go through.
IMO, that’s the only way we can stay optimistic while still being realistic at the same time.

The phrase ' quittters never win, winners never quit' is not entirely true in gambling, if you're gambling for a long time and you're not winning or getting entertained it's better to quit. Gambling is not like other aspects of life where you have defined goals and you'll keep trying until you get it right, in gambling your success depends mainly on luck to win. The only way that I can recommend to continue gambling even when you're losing is if you're using small amounts for it. You can continue gambling despite losing and one day you'll win, so it's win sometimes, lose sometimes and have fun.

It does motivate me because it simply tells me that no matter how many times I fail, there is always a chance that I will succeed one day.

Gambling scenario might be different because if one keeps on gambling irresponsibly and keeps on losing, then he is bound to have his finances ruined.  This should be coupled with responsible gambling, this way his losses will not be a hindrance to his financial capability since the person only losses the money he can afford to lose.  What is there for being called not a quitter, but is in financial ruins, he is stall labeled a loser because he lost everything.  So in gambling, there is more than just not quitting to be a winner, and that is being a responsible gambler.

If we are talking about not quitting while applying responsible gambling, then I can say I am still not quitting and gambling till now, after so many years.

I wouldn't care too much about it, by giving up, what do we get? Or by not giving up, what will we get? What happens seems to be just fighting for ambition.
I'm not saying it's bad, but I prefer to keep it casual. When I want to play, I'll play. When I don't want to risk anything, I'll keep quiet. I won't treat gambling like a struggle.

This "Quitters never win, winners never quit" is a two edged sword...you know how they say winners know when to top but then we have a different camp saying  that quitters never win, very confusing right  Personally I would settle for the if you don't play the lottery, you can never win it..it's less aggressive and welcoming both to quitters and Winners 

Otherwise all I can say is push your luck and see where it takes you.

I'm not a quitter too, still playing and enjoying every game, sports betting or casino games.

Don't know if it's a positive mindset or otherwise, for those who don't like gambling of course it's a negative mindset, but for me what's important is not whether it's positive or negative but how to play with a positive mindset, that is even though not a quitter but not always spending money to achieve what's in mind, because this can be negative.

But honestly I like that mindset as even if I don’t really think about it while I’m gambling, I still carry that attitude of not giving up easily. It feels more like emotional gambling sometimes, because when we lose, we often stop following our strategy, but we still keep going.

That’s when the losses pile up even more, but just like you, I’ve been gambling for many years now, so this saying really fits me too.

Not saying it's entirely a bad thing to have this type of mindset when it comes to gambling but I would rather put this energy of not giving up into other things than gambling. The constant effort of trying hoping to actually win a substantial amount of money is exhausting and the longer you the try the more you keep on losing. What if it takes as long as a year to get it, you would have incurred a lot of losses to get it

That mindset should be adopted on something where you have a big possibility to make money, not gambling where house is high likely will win.

Let’s say you stick to your gambling limit and you don’t quit as long as you still have your budget,  that’s still within the safe zone and it still fits the definition. You’re not quitting because you still have money to play with, and that doesn’t mean you’ve lost control.

Well that's what a responsible gambler or healthy gambler is, if most gamblers are like that, we will not hear many people talk bad about gambling.

The @OP treat like the world is just either black and white, like if you do this, you're right and vice versa. Not quitting gambling has no guarantee you will win, not to mention the definition of "win" may vary.

No, because that's not my goal. There are times when I'll stop, not give up because when I'm constantly aiming to win, then I no longer get the enjoyment of playing.
There must have been a lot of emotion in there even though I realized that what I was doing was no longer conscious.
Maybe for others that attitude applies.

When the allocated gambling budget has reached the limit, the sentence to act "don't give up" will sound very strange, it is like an encouragement that recommends that everyone must act beyond the set limit. I think, that is the motivation of people who are addicted, who gamble with the orientation of getting as much profit as possible, and may make gambling their main source of income.

The next action later when the siruasion is already there is that it will lead to things that harm yourself and others. Our minds when we are in that situation are no longer healthy, negative energy continues to push us to take actions such as pawning existing valuables to be able to become money and the money returns to the arena or to the site.

Surrendering in a positive sense does not dare us to be considered defeated. Instead it is a victory. Even the casino if we chat directly to question why we keep losing, their answer is quite wise, don't be forced. Try again tomorrow.

Well, 'never give up' is such a booster and inspiring mentality that can make you stick to your goals. I know people who have been sticking to gambling for years, and they follow this mentality and take it as a dedication. But did you think that sticking to something for years is a trap? I know it's strange to say this, but its income is not consistent, unlike other skills, and in those years, you may lose more than you earn. The basic thing is not that you should never give up, but rather know when to end and walk away with the profits. When you use the mentality of 'never give up,' you will face many losses, but when you know when to leave, then your losses will be minimal and your profits will be high.

Having a positive mind towards gambling and betting can help you in losing more money, this is what I have experienced before and I know it only blind someone until the person will realize he is the one losing while the gambling and the betting site are winning. I neither have positive nor negative mind while gambling or betting but I use small amount of money which can not let me have such mindset.

having positive or negative mindset in gambling does not change anything. it is vise versa which means you may have a negative mindset an win and also have a positive mindset and lose. having positive or negative mindset does not change anything. since gambling is all about luck. you wouldnt even know when you gonna win or lose.

i think most of us here are in the same shoes.  although i have not quit totally but still gambling only on weekends. and my gambling speed has reduced on likr before.

There is really only one conclusion to be drawn here - people are driven and dependent if they fall for such slogans. An adequate person who does not have any problems with gambling will not immerse himself in the game so much that he allows himself to lose a fortune. He will never think that if he has lost now, he will definitely win back his loss today. No, this is a deliberately losing tactic, so such slogans are aimed at already weak and vulnerable players

This makes sense, but a large portion of players who are addicted or close to it - will not be able to resist another try and will most likely continue to play and maybe even borrow money if they can't stop. I think at times like this, someone in their right mind should be there to stop the madness if the player goes off the rails. Sometimes this statement have landed many is a despicable conditions, most especially when you take this line of advice seriously while gambling, since gambling have higher tendency of making you to lose if you continue to gamble without taking off from the table trying not to quite or give up on your loses will definitely give you more loses instead the expected winning in the end.

I do believe on this, sometimes. sometimes, my third cash in was the great one. i lose every amount i have on my casino account and my third cash in will hit not once, not twice but 3 super big win.
But this is not good all the time.
