This is a very old account which was lost, I tried to contact admin to recover and is in the process of getting it back (attached) to another email address.

The problem now is that the account is banned for 'plagiarism'.

I remember what happened back then, there was this campaign that was going on for crypto.com visa card. I was part of the signature/bounty campaign. As part of the campaign, I made a post on the India sub-section with contents from the main campaign page. Some member reported this as plagiarism.

In my defense, I was an active participant of signature/bounty campaign of crypto.com visa cards.

I already proved my ownership of the account to the admin with signed messages from old BTC address.

If mods deem this is as a genuine request to unban the old account, I will be grateful.

Plagiarism is not tolerated by forum rule and even there is a second chance for plagiarism-banned accounts, it's barely given. A banned account must have net-positive contributions in the forum in order to convince forum admins to unban it with a softer punishment like signature-ban for some months or some years.

You should be banned from this account you are currently writing from as well, as you are breaking the rule

The problem is that you have already made many posts in other threads and that means that you have been evading your ban for nearly 9 months.
According to forum rules, you can create a new account for your ban appeal, but you are not allowed to use your alt account(s) to post somewhere else.

So after proving the account was indeed yours, you were asked to create an appeal thread? Do you have access to the account now and can you see an email address in the ban message?
I think it should be different from the one used in account recoveries.

This does not explain why you were banned, you should give more context or link the post here. We sometimes have appeals here from users that had multiple violations but they are not aware those has been caught.

Your account was banned, not locked or lost by any hack or security issue so your case is not account recovery. It's actually a ban appeal in your case, and you must understand your situation this way.

If a post is accused as plagiarism and moderator aggreed with that report, that post will be deleted and it explains why now you can not find that post. 2018 is too long in the past and there was no third party website that archive forum posts like Loyce.club or Ninjastic.space.

You can wait for moderator's answer in this thread about your banned account and which posts triggered that permanent ban.

in the op’s case here in order to appeal the ban he needs to unlock the account.

and he needs to use a second or new account.

he is not ban evading if this is his first place he used the new account.

I am thinking I sold him a gpu years ago. i don’t know what he did wrong in terms of plagiarism but I do remmeber that suchmoon banned a ton of people in 2018 and that I was able to get a few overturned as the bot used to catch peoplel was not very well developed at the time.


one case was a member from new zealand that simply repeated his own rules in a sales thread he started on the first post of the thread.

that does not mean the op here should or shouldn’t be banned.

but i am certain that the 2018 bans had some issues some of the time.


if the admins destroyed the evidence of the conviction maybe this person could get a pass.
