As a newbie like myself, the most you can do to help yourself is to be active on the forum. You don’t really need to be commenting always but, you should ensure you are reading your bit and your most when you can. Be a regular visitor and read to your understanding, you would gradually understand little pros and cons about the forum and Bitcoin at large. That’s where I’ve been for sometime and frankly, there is a lot to consume.

One thing which every newcomer must follow is to give some time on daily basis to this forum, that will greatly help in understanding the forum. Just make it a habit to give 30 minute to this forum on daily basis and you are good to go here. By giving time to the forum one can understand the 'nitty-gritty' of the forum which are not possible otherwise. Everyone of us want to grow on the forum and that's possible only if we follow norms of this forum.

You have already been provided with the necessary rules already, but for you to be able to create thread on the forum here, then you should have gone to different sections on the forum, am sure you will have seen different pinned threads about the basic things which you are suppose to know about the forum. If you are really here to learn, then I will say you should spend more time reading than posting. There are already threads on the forum here that will be useful for you, if you are in need of any information, just make use of the search engine, if you can’t find what you need, or their is something that you don’t understand, then you can ask question.

Also avoid posting with AI on the forum here, people might not really tell you that, if you are posting here, then make sure the post is written by you, don’t post to impress anyone, be yourself because If you are caught posting with AI, then your account is going to be tagged.

There aren't many rules out side of not spamming (no using ai, shit posting and so on). Trust is regulated by the trust system (if you do something wrong by someone else it will most likely reflect on your trust page) and merit is earned by making good contributions. As a newbie, the best thing you can do is start by bookmarking heplful learning resources to build your knowledge library.

The forum was recommended to you by a friend and you're here asking what the forum is all about. It's a bit weird. Well, the forum is about Bitcoin, and virtually anything else.

Anyway, you probably won't get nuked if you commit small newbie mistakes like making successive replies or inadvertent necro-posting. What makes you likely nuked are common-sense violations or those which are a big no anywhere you are like posting malicious links or plagiarism. 

If I may add, since this is the thing these days and the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ doesn't seem to include this yet: avoid contributing AI responses to discussions. We might as well just chat with an AI rather than have a discussion here.

Welcome to the Bitcoin community. The thing I would recommend you to do more is to study more. There should be no limit to your study, the more time you can spend in the forum, the more your insight will expand. To study about Bitcoin investment, you should try to visit specially Speculation. For members who are influenced by others and enter the forum to increase their knowledge about specially investment, the most important thing is to follow the advice given by the seniors and give their own opinions and asked for increase own knowledge. First thing you should locate is the pinned threads in this forum since there are helpful information's to learn if you read it.

Also be more resourceful and do hard work upon researching since there are lots of threads and discussions which provably could help you to learn lot of things about crypto also this forum itself.

With all said and done, the ball is in your court. Is the effort you put in the forum, that's the result you will get of, in the forum.

My advice to you, don't give up or stop being consistent in the forum and expect to grow in the knowledge of crypto. That's not gonna work. You gat to be consistent, take the forum as your second home where you will impact yourself with the knowledge of crypto.
