What does referee history has to do with how the outcome of a match would be? This is not one of the things that I can possibly think of while analyzing a match to bet on.

If you want to be betting on Real Madrid, it is not bad at all as long as you can afford to lose the money that you are using to bet.

How do you believe that betting on a side is to support them? Does a player care what are the odds for them or their team? Or, do they mind how much money staked for them for a particular match? Even they bother about gambling statistics, it got nothing to do with their performance. Hence, betting on your favourite team makes no sense. If you want to win a bet then go rational.

Both. But sometimes the heart does win, even after doing some research before the game. We are fans of something or someone, and that cannot be avoided. It's part of being a gambler, and I think it's alright if that way we can enjoy watching the game more. There are gamblers who just place their bets but don't really watch the game. They might not be enjoying the game anymore because it's for the money.

But as a fan, it's different. You can cheer the team that you like while placing some money on the line to boost the energy of watching the game and make you more engaged.

The player that is giving red cards fouled to the extent that the player deserves red card. Any referee can give a player red card. It is worth knowing that a referee can give any player red card at any time in a way no one can know the next match that red card would be given to a player.

No matter all these analysis we shouldn't also forget that winning is under probability and chance based, then again talking about referee, I don't know how he gonna influenced the result of the game, knowing too well that VR is always there to televise what has happened if ever the referee cheated or influences the game. What I think should be mostly focused is how we choses our odds, and do our analysis and also to be able to accept the risk associated with the amount we are using to bet.

Data driven bet must be a better way in my opinion as well.

First you must need to have better clarity on why you want to bet? To make profits or to show that you are a great supporter of your favourite team? If you want to show your friends that you have made these many bet on a team regardless of winning or losing then I guess you can go with your favourite team.

Personally, I do bet on a stronger side still I do face losses time to time.

I do not know how a gambler may afford to keep on betting just for the reason of favourite team. Ridiculous .

Data helps guide your choices, but I normally will not check out a referee history before placing a bet. There will need to be a high level of bias for them to be a factor and in such situations they will already likely be under investigations.

I also will normally not bet on my team and I cannot bring myself to hedge a bet against them so I just try to avoid the games all together.

I know it's sound weird, but there are sports bettor who take that into consider. Just like in NBA with referee Scott Foster refereeing with Chris Paul player regardless of the team Chris is in.

The thing is that if you are fan of Real Madrid, then you might used your emotions to bet on them. However, if the odds are that bad, or if they are the underdog, it's very hard to get against them because you are a fan. Not just in football though, even in other sports, if we involved our emotions if might turn out bad for us.

That's what I said, so the size of a team doesn't matter. If a person makes a bet based on their love of a team or player then IMO it is not a smart bet. If you make a bet for fun, you probably aren't betting anything significant so it's really not important.

In this case, you are not a gambler but rather a fan of this team, and a fan for whom loyalty to his team is important. Nothing is surprising here; there are many such people, but in such cases, you need to separate sports betting and your attitude to the team. Will you bet on a loss, understanding that there is practically no chance? If you believe in the miracles of victory, perhaps one day you will be as lucky as the most sincere fan who, despite everything, throws his money away time after time to the wind.

It's an interesting question and the thing you might want to ask yourself is if the thing in your heart is quantifiable, because then it comes down to a data only question. When it comes to your opponent in placing bets, you are against primarily automated betting prediction analysis with potentially small adjustments by internal bookmaker teams. There is unlikely to be much heart involved in the calculations from there side. We as humans are probably more swayed by unconscious bias and math that we cannot calculate as well as a computer, but there may be things that affect the game which have not been factored into the bookmaker model. There have been players who have beaten the bookmakers before, but it's very hard to do consistently.

Use whatever strategy that suits you because there's no perfect strategy to win in gambling, if data analysis suits you go for if or if it's following your heart, that too is ok. But in sports bet it's an advantage to understand the sport that you're interested in, atleast to research and analyze before placing bets. You can decide to go against the result that your analysis gives you by following your instinct, you never know the one that'll eventually give you a win. I don't do deep analysis before placing a bet because I've not been very profitable by it, I mostly just compare the two teams and make a pick.

It is obvious you are betting for fun and more of entertainment, which means you dont care if you loss or win. No matter how heartfelt you have for Real Madrid, you still need to you data to know when you should bet on them and when to avoid them. You cant be betting blindly on them every time.

For me, I must be sincere, I think following data has been more profitable for me than following my heart, and by heart, I believe you mean our intuition or our mind.

The heart may never lie to its owner but not when it's about betting or gambling, many a times I've believed my heart and bet on a team it lead me to bet on, and at the end of the day, I ended up losing, this proves the heart can't really be depended on for accurate prediction, else, we all would be making millions from betting and gambling in general.

And i am very curious to know what a referee history has to do with the potential outcome of a match, would you please kindly explain abit on this as this is my first time coming across a person who thinks a referee's history has something to do with the potential outcome of a game.

From my experience bets made after carryout out analysis have always given me a better results than those I bet on because I felt like a single player that I loved would be able to win the game.

I have lost a fortune from just betting blindly but whenever I put in the work to actually look at past matches, conditions of the players - their responsiveness during the match; they help determine what to bet on.

those are all common strategies except for the checking of referee’s history lol that one not everyone does it as it doesn’t really factor in much during the play does it? or do you think it has helped you massively?

nah if it involves money, i would not bet on my favorite team if they sucked you need to be objective when betting or else you will not win anything
