Multiple threads on the Gambling Board

 I don't know if am wrong but if yes I can be corrected  but I feel compel to bring this to this board because from the look of things there are allot of threads that are  existing in double on this gambling board which I don't think that is  too good because one thing that doubles threads do is that it takes away that joy from when everyone is commenting on only one threads again there are also multiple threads on some important leagues like the premier League etc please for those who created threads on these leagues  I want to say that if a particular football season ends please make sure that you lock the threads and create a new one adding the current season so everyone can concentrate on the new season . I believe that this is just a Honest opinion for the improvement of the gambling board.

some threads may have some differences that subtle enough so maybe that is why we see many threads that get doubled and each thread also have a lot of replies under them i am concerned about topics or subjects that get repeated all the time like luck or skill

I think the mods have already checked that, since the gambling board is one of the biggest if not the biggest  sections here. And the fact that the thread is still up makes me believe they see it as something substantial, with real discussion going on, not just a spammy mega thread.

But of course, feel free to report it if you think otherwise.

You're right, some of them have the same meaning, but on the other side those topics have different meanings. The same meaning can be seen in the example of PL & Serie A topics you gave, it's very clear that those topics have the same meaning & shouldn't be made multiple.

For the WC topic, it has different meaning because one of the 2 topics has an event in it. BTW, this isn't the right place to discuss this, you can go to Meta & ask about it.

You don't have to create new thread for each new season, just make one for league and continue discussing on that thread every season.

The problem sometimes is that OP's will leave their threads and so there will be no updates about the season change or the year change. Then, another OP will come out and be more active about it after creating his own thread but others got used to the former and will be loyal at posting their opinions about it.

Anyway, this is actually a good suggestion but we cannot predict the future so a duplicate may happen. Sometimes the threads are buried deep and a question or a topic will be repeated.

If your complaint is about threads like the English Premier League, German Bundesliga and Italian Seria A, just do not waste your time. There are similar threads like that and people have complained about it before but nothing changed.

Although in the EPL, one is called prediction thread while the other is called discussion thread.

This is also what Ive noticed on Gambling section. Sometimes we saw same topic but different idea or substances related to it. Also I think this is the hardest to moderate or given time to check with since the volume of post lingering daily is a lot. Maybe some mods missed some multiple redundancies but users can report like this if they found casual thread or same topic to assist on reporting.

That should be the OP's decision if he would lock the old thread and start up a new one or not. However, when a thread is already on the gambling section, someone shouldn't create similar threads apart from when a casino is sponsoring a similar thread for forum members to bet on. The gambling section has more traffic than any other board and before you know it, you will see similar topics that have been created in the past but what can we do when the mod did not delete it.

This has been discussed before, even in meta
- Moderated topics don't fall under the duplicate rule
- Topics with a pool game are also excluded
- Old topics that are currently running on a single series are left alone

So in short as long as you don't duplicate a league topic by opening an unmoderated one at the same time, yours will stay up.

I personally think that the soccer threads are ridiculous. There are about 5000 of them now, 1 for each and every single league big or small and I'm sure there will be more made. It's legal but stupid. Why not just have all of them in 1 thread and name it soccer(futbol, football) discussion? At least then it covers everything and it's not causing the board to be overrun by spammy shit.

If you are suggesting having the FiFA world cup, the English premier league, the champions league, Germany Bundesliga and so on all in one thread, then I don't think that is ideal and it would create a lot of confusion and misinformation..

I honestly think it's better we have a thread specially for each league but then like the op suggested which I completely agree with, let's stop creating multiple threads for a particular league, it makes absolutely no sense at all, this is something I myself have thought about several times in the past but I never thought about bringing the issue up for discussion just as the op have just done.

I will suggest that a major clean-up be done on this board and threads that have multiples should have the multiple closed or locked to create a more clean and better gambling discussion board.

I am suggesting that people are making these threads to meet their weekly quotas in their sig campaigns. If it were only the big leagues(4-5 threads) then it probably wouldn't be a big deal, but go count the number of threads and you'll probably count 20-30 easy. Next we will have the private school leagues for juniors and the pee wee leagues. It's just way way way too much.

I think this is what the gambling sites that have their presence with signature campaign on this forum want. Almost everything I see on this gambling board is spam. If it is not a mega thread, it will be a thread of what that has been discussed before and yet people are repeating themselves over and over again. The mega thread is based on what is presently happening in football. We should not just see it as spam that some people are calling them.

If you see spam there, report it. 99.99% of what that are discussed on this gambling discussion board are spams of what that had been discussed before, but the mega thread is a bit different. Although, some poor posters are hiding there

In my own opinion, you are correct. Everything can not be on the same thread. The thread will be more mega and full of more unthoughtful discussions.

Although the threads seem to talk about the same thing, due to their titles, I think they have certain differences between them, and different topics are discussed. I don't see it as a duplicate topic as such, they are simply two similar spaces, but with a diversity of subtopics.

I suppose that's what the moderators consider these threads to be, and that they don't consider them clones. Furthermore, if both threads are very active, it's actually beneficial for the forum, because everything isn't crowded into a single space.

Noone is reading, they're just starting their own thread and now there's so many threads it's crazy. If it's not soccer talk it's something else. I've seen 3 threads on bankroll management this past week or 2, Probably 10 threads on addiction in some form, and multiple other silly questions.

People need to take advantage of the search feature now and then.

Well, maybe the mods can take it upon themselves to lock any topic which is above 100 pages, so that a new one would be created if the discussion is that much relevant. Discussions about soccer would always be important as it's fans would always have one or two things to say about it. I always get bored of the long pages, but I wouldn't swallow my contributions.

I wouldn't support all soccer disciplines in one mega thread, the noise would be worsened, The threads he outlined is the same for the German thread, The Italian thread is the same, but a new one was created to phase out the old one. Maybe the mods can help lock the old thread so the new one can serve its purpose, and I think such should be done for all other threads that are getting too long.
