Important update for Yellow Card users

I have noticed some people have mentioned Yellow Card on this board before which is the reason I posted this. But I am kind of surprised when I saw the email message because I do not think there would be any Nigeria that will use Yellow Card on browser instead of the mobile app. I guess everyone will have the app, but in case.

If you are using the web, you will not be able to access the exchange starting from next month which is August 1st. Let me quote what was sent through the email.

We would like to inform you about an important upcoming change to how you access Yellow Card.

From August 1, 2025, the Yellow Card Web App will no longer be available. We're making this change so we can focus on giving you an even better experience on our main mobile apps.

Your Yellow Card account and funds are completely safe. This change only affects how you access your account.

What do you need to do?

If you don’t already have the Yellow Card mobile app, simply download it before August 1st:

Android App: Download from the Google Play Store
iOS App: Download from the Apple App Store

You'll log in with the same details you use now - everything else stays the same.

You have plenty of time (until July 31) to make this easy switch, and we will remind you as this deadline approaches.

I would love to read reviews from Nigerian users who have actually used this exchange to send or receive cryptocurrency, how was the process. I have only used it once and everything went smoothly during that period. However, you can only receive payments to a bank that isn't a fintech one. Their exchange rate is good. The exchange has only tron network for USDT then, I don't know if they have added other options. Their bitcoin address is SegWit bc1

Yes, e still dey possible because the exchange na them go buy your bitcoin directly from you to fiat. Traders dey the exchange wey get different bank accounts. If you won come withdraw your Naira from the exchange, na where these traders go come involve. Na your Naria wey dey ur exchange account, them go use the same bank as the own wey you won use receive the funds take send the funds to you. You go only pay ₦100 for their charges. The exchange connects you to them.

I done dey use Yellow card for over 3 year now and i am a tier 3 kyc verified users which mean i have done transactions that run into something significant in the past and i have all it take to give an indebt review of that p2p exchange, but what i can say is that.

Yellowcard is one of the fastest finteck to sned money across Africa all you have ro do is to have a yellowcard. Account for both party and you have your account funded.

I have never used this service, don't think I have heard of it before now. From what I can see they are operating in a similar manner that Luno was a couple of years back, that's another service I do not know if it's still active today.

I am very sure that what it means is the web browser.

The exchange only has mobile apps.

Let me simplify it. Web apps still will make use of your browser. Just regard it as you are connecting through your mobile browser through the URL. They are totally different from browser extensions.

They were basically operating a mobile app and a web app in the same way that WhatsApp does - you can still access the service through the app or a web browser, but not through their wep app anymore.  I'm not sure if my explanation is clear.

Web app is only confusing. They call it web app to let people know that they are very friendly on mobile devices as well (I mean mobile friendly sites like as if you are using a mobile app). So if a site has a mobile friendly site, they have the web app already.

I have once heard of this Yellow Card and registered with them some times back last year or two years ago, but I was really having problems with accessing their services, can’t really remember what happened or what lead me to not have interest in them anymore.

You wey don dey use am for long now, don really drop good review on them and maybe person fit try access am see again to see how well their services dey as compared to other exchanges wey dey offer the same services. Since you mentioned fastest fintech to send money across Africa, e really make am attractive to use to me.

You are right. I also noticed it and I did not use it when I have alternatives.

Too bad, and i was considering registering on Yellow Card after i read all the reviews posted on this thread, but if i have to wait for a very long time for KYC verification, i might as well forget about it.

That said, @Frankolala, how long did you wait for your KYC information to be verified and when did you register, that is if you don't mind giving the information here.

If that's the case they should change up with wording of their memo to avoid confusion. There will be some question marks from users like if they will still be able to access it on a mobile browser or not.
But probably their active users will not be as confused as they'll be familiar with their available features and know which isn't going to be available.

Too bad, and i was considering registering on Yellow Card after i read all the reviews posted on this thread, but if i have to wait for a very long time for KYC verification, i might as well forget about it.

Do not mind me, what I meant was different there. I registered on the exchange but when I wanted to buy just ₦20000 of coin, thinking it will not require more than phone number verification, I was unable to buy it until i will get verified.

I have heard about this service provider, but I have not been able to patronise their services as a result of the complaints I have been seeing online about them. Although I have seen some mention here but I am not convinced. However, it is nice that you have made this update known to the general house, so that people would be aware of the development for which they are discontinuing their web services, if I am not mistaken, because if the information is not properly disseminated to the wider audience or community, they might be taken advantage of by scammers who would not mind going to any extent to do a fake site just to get at the ignorant or uninformed users of the platform and prospective users as well.

I have not use the exchange, although there was a time I opened a yellow card account during the time binance short down there naira conversion but when I opened it everything wasn't looking too nice for me considering the experience I had on other exchanges, so when I learned about other exchange I just decided to leave it, except I just decided to continue using the account if not I don't see any need to but is a good information to the users so that those who have not gotten there app yet to do that within the stated period since they did not state how long it will be unreachable.

This is my first time also of hearing about this service, when I even first saw the title of this thread on the board page, I was seriously thinking what the heck is yellow card, first I thought it was something that had to do with football, and on that other hand, I thought maybe its a kind of special Atm card I've never heard of, at the end, curiosity is what made me open this thread to a look and learn what exactly the op was talking about..

And amazingly, its a service, I have been seeing alot of ads on platforms like X on this yellow card thing but I've never imagined that it's a crypto currency exchange and even popular well enough to be talked about on this forum.

Very soon now, you will begin to hear people complaining of their asset being hooked down on yellow card for none reason, when they are not aware of this important update.

Another second point i want to buttress here is the speedy action required by every users to evacuate their assets from the platform to a non custodial wallet, because they are not of a standard reputable wallet, hence we should strife and go for one that is well recognized and trusted.

Lastly, the importance of being updated in different aspect of cryptocurrency is as this important, because we got informed of all relevant and necessary actions that is expected of us to take, while we should still bear in mind that not your keys not your coins, someone like me will not use a centralized platform like this to hold my digital assets.

Theirs something I want to know, the name yellow card is it the name of the exchange? If the exchange is centralised exchange that means their privacy will not that strong, if it is being established in Nigeria, EFCC can break in into their office and extract the data of anyone who has done business with them if their is accusations to their customers,so for me is not good to go into something that you have not fully understand the concept, we have so many exchanges in the field so we need to know that scammers are everywhere before they will scam some of us and go away with our coins

I don't know if it is only me but I hardly access any exchange through their website as they are banned by our government. Binance, Kucoin, Bybit and even Bitget websites are not accessible through their websites and the only way of access have been their apps so I don't know if yellow card was accessible before through their website as I have not used my account in that platform for a very long time since I made it. Assuming I still use this exchange, this email would have been a warning sign for me and I would have stayed away from the exchange till further notice, at least when I know that everything has become functional again because this email seems like downgrading their services.
