With all of the hype surrounding AI, I wonder what impact will it have on the gambling industry? Perhaps, gamblers will experience more fairness and randomness when betting online. I mean, provably-fair casinos already exist. But AI can help improve them in the long run.

Provably fair casino? You people should stop deceiving yourselves. The money is for the casinos to enjoy and the game for you to enjoy. Although, we know that the casinos are cheating us with house edge, so we can still say it is provably fair.

Just know that the casinos will make use of AI to make profit. The gamblers will continue to profit or lose as usual. That means more losses for gamblers will continue.

There have been recent talks on AI matter regards gambling industry on this forum. People were talking about AIs suggesting gamblers to place bets on team A or B, or helping casinos to display determined games or bets, accordingly to the personal preferences and history of the gamblers collected by the algorithm.

At same time, the cons were also mentioned, as AIs can help gamblers to cheat the house when providing personal data.

As we can see, AIs are being used as mean of cheating and manipulation everywhere. It could be a helpful and productive tool to improve people's performance and to give them access to brand new concepts of real time experience, but since it's a decaying modern world, it's going to be used for the laziest and most manipulative purposes as possible.

it really depends on whoever gets to use said ai because it can be used for manipulation and fabrication as well ai has many uses and one can make it do anything he pleases even if it’s morally wrong

However, if both parties understand how to use this AI, it could also be beneficial for them.

I don't think Artificial intelligence will have anything to do with random number generation on casinos or will help to improve fairness of games. I would bet they are going to be user to customize the gambling experience of each one of the gamblers opting to use a casino with an AI integrated to it. Casinos could create some avatars, some mascots rendered in 3D which would have interactions with us as we gamble and directly talk to us, mentioning bonuses, races, and events to be held by the casino.
In short, they are going to be used to enhance the experience of the user through some kind of interaction.

Behind the curtains, casinos will also use it to detect flaws on their security system and analize whether some of their gamblers is breaking the Terms of Service, by trying to mix money on the platform or abusing bonuses using multiple accounts.

One must wonder who many people are going to get ultimately replaced by this new technology within the gambling industry, perhaps brick and mortar casinos will start to look more appealing for those who can afford to spend time in them.

That’s a very funny way to put it, although, it makes sense to the ears and judging by what is mostly obtainable but even then, I wouldn’t say much on probably fair if I don’t know how it works or is determined.
What I would say however is this; Casinos have always got a higher house edge than gamblers themselves.

Meanwhile, AI hasn’t got much role in gambling other than alertness, getting and running through available statistics. Using it more than this could bridge casino T&C and even when you win, it’s a loss at that point.

Can AI beat the odds in those luck-based games in casinos, where the house edge can beat all available methods? They have a chance in sports betting, but when it comes to luck-based games in casinos, they have the same chances as humans.
If, by chance, the AI can devise a good method, then the gambling industry will crumble, and AI will have its biggest casualty.

For every step a casino takes to integrate something new into the casino, just know it’s for profit making sake. Not that the players won’t be considered and not enjoy the pleasure of the new additions, but if you check it in the long run, it will be for their own benefit and that was the reason they opened a casino in the first place. AI will really be a part of everything we do in the future because of how vast and rapidly evolving it is in all sectors of the world today. We just have to learn how to live with them and make use of them judiciously as it affects our daily activities in this technological era.

I don’t really feel any major changes. Casinos use AI, and so do we,  but one thing remains constant... we still don’t have the edge to beat the casino.

AI definitely makes things easier for both sides, for us, it might make the experience more enjoyable or interesting since we can experiment with strategies or predictions. But if it doesn’t actually improve our chances of winning, then honestly, what’s the point? It becomes just another tool but not a game-changer.

I think AI only gives you a suggestion base on the data they outsource and analyze. Anytime, like other said above, they can exploit and feed those AI with misinformation, which turns these bots or AI use that data to give you wrong suggestions.

AI is machine learning; if they teach it to give you this information, then they will do it. If they keep feeding it with wrong data then it will lead you to a wrong bets.

So better analyze with your own; only use them to gather information and to confirm if you are right with your analysis. If you just follow it without double-checking and doing your own research (DYOR), then you will end up losing in the long run.

AI can be helpful but never in the long run. Although it can save us from sort of wrong decisions, but in the end it’s only ourselves that we can rely on, especially if we are trying to beat gambling addiction.

I don’t think AI will have anything to do with increasing our chances of winning. And if ever it does, the casino will obviously just counter it. It’s not like the owners will sit back and watch their business collapse. One thing that won’t change, even as technology progresses, is that the house wins most of the time. That’s how gambling has always worked, and not even AI can change that, now or in the future.

I don't think there would be an assurance that you would have a significant impact, but there would be help in terms of prediction in terms of data available, because in a way, they could help you analyze trends based on historical data. It will be faster compared to before.

Mostly, I see AI helping with analysis and being more efficient that way.

Provable fairness is all about the random outcome's fairness being verifiable by each and every gambler or player. It is Bitcoin or blockchain related. It is about "don't trust, verify". Gone are days when fairness in casinos is only about certificates, accreditations, being audited, registration, licenses, etc. Cryptography, blockchain, has changed that because verifiability is being made accessible to everybody. The ability to prove or verify that each roll of a dice is as fair as presented, not manipulated, not cheated, not tweaked, not altered, etc. is as easy as confirming that the seeds match.

It is not a deception. It is not about house edge or the casino the only party that earns.

AI will always serve the owner. AI in a casino will work for the owner, analyzing players' tactics, striving to keep them in the game as long as possible, and protecting against fraud and cheating. All this and much more is another testament to the owner's hand and eye. To say that AI will improve the rights for players seems very naive to me; the casino must develop its business, and it will apply all the tools for better income and attracting customers while maintaining the appearance of fairness of all games.

AI is not going to be of any use to you if you play casino games for HE, as Charles-Tim has also mentioned. And in skill games it is not going to give you a big advantage either. You can use AI for sports betting but houses also use it to adjust their odds. About the effect of AI in poker I also talked in another thread.

This friend can empathize with losses or winnings, and most importantly, at the right moment, independently withdraw the money won and throw the gambler out of the online game if the boundary conditions set for bankroll management are reached.

I think AI is more useful for casino operators, it helps them automate a lot of their operations, like using AI for customer support, or analyzing transactions such as bets, deposits, and withdrawals.

But for us gamblers, I’m not so sure. Even if I say that AI helps me, I honestly can’t back that up  because I haven’t been profitable yet.
So while it may offer some convenience or insight, it hasn’t really translated into better results for me personally.

One of the many reasons where artificial intelligence could become useful, your mentality is the right one!
You gave a really nice idea, a babysitter role able to understand when it's time to stop.
I would really like this function, it would reduce the risks a lot, but I think it would reduce the earnings of a casino.
