I guess we can't really tell what will be the jobs that suits our degrees and if it's still going to be related to what we've studied or not. Realistically, in my country, college degree still important because mostly all company especially government institution using college degree as basic requirement, not because its represent our competence but its tools for faster candidate filtering. Society still see college degree as symbol of status, achievement, credibility and eligibility. For some profession college degree is  top priority requirement due to quality control and public safety sucah as doctor, nurse, pharmacist, lecture, teacher and engeneering.
