I couldn’t agree more. While self discipline may not completely stop you from gambling, it can at least keep you from doing things uncontrollably, like spending or depositing more beyond your limi. That’s why if you have a gambling habit, it’s important to have self discipline and if you don’t, then you need to practice and get used to it. As a gambler, I can say it’s not easy to develop. It’s definitely easier said than done. You need a strong will to fight the urge to keep playing.

For example i have read about one some study that described some gambling addicts getting frustrated when they won more. I'll have to go with sport betting because I have experience addiction with that but haven't experienced addiction with slot games. There might be others that have more addiction with slots but that's for them. I think the type of games that you're playing is going to determine how you get affected. Sport betting have some break time because it isn't every time that games get played although we have virtual games that people can still used in betting but if the addiction is strictly for real games then they can have some break when clubs aren't playing any games because of holidays. Since people can watch sport games, I think it has an additional advantage of being addictive.

Gambling addiction depends on the gambler, not the game. I was addicted to sport betting when I was an addict, not slots or any casino games. But I posted that according to what I have researched, that slots are reported to be the one that most people are addicted to. So this is not according to me. You are right that losing more money than the amount allocated for addiction is addictive for gamblers. I can prevent myself from becoming addicted because I am not controlled by emotions and try to stay focused on maintaining a level playing field regarding alternative sources of income. Most of the time we like gambling but cannot resist losing so by following the advice you have given (allocating the smallest amount of money available) we can keep ourselves engaged in gambling and gradually increase the amount of winnings.

It seems to me that people who are already desperate, have lost a lot of money, and perhaps not even because of gambling, become addicted. For them, gambling is a way to earn money and return to normal life, but as we know, this strategy is doomed to failure.
