Do you know that South Africa has 6 nuclear weapons before during the apartheid, but the nukes was later dismantled and South Africa confirmed it in 1993 before the apartheid ended in 1994.

Although many people claimed that it was dismantled because of the Whites that were leaving power.

What I can say is that those having nukes may be what will end the world one day. It is better how Africa does not want to have nukes.

The countries are accurate. Just 9 countries have nukes. But many articles are indicating that Russia's likely has more nukes than United States.

I left them at 5000 plus and put Russia first on the list.

I am surprised that Germany, that I consider a word power is not on this list of countries that owns nukes, I consider them as one of the world's most advanced countries, also I wonder what is the criteria for only 9 countries owning nukes. Although I don't support for every country to have nuclear weapons, it will be deverstating if a country decides to unleash it on their enemy nation. So far all the countries that owns nukes are behaving well, I hope that it will remain so far the sake of innocent citizens, they can iuse it to flex muscles to their enemies but I hope that none of them will have to use theirs.

Nazi Germany was one of the causes of World War I and was the country that launched World War II under Hitler's leadership. For that reason, after losing World War II, Germany was forced to sign a commitment with other powers such as Britain, the United States, France...that they would never produce or possess nuclear weapons and in return they would receive protection from the US through NATO.

Although they do not directly possess nuclear weapons, they participate in NATO's nuclear sharing program. The US deployed 15–20 B61 nuclear bombs at Büchel, Germany, and they were operated by the US Army and the German Air Force.

There is no criteria for a country to possess nuclear weapons, it all depends on their resources, that is why North Korea or Iran despite warnings from the United States or NATO still deploy nuclear programs.

If we discuss the weaknesses of the countries of Africa and the Middle East, then many issues will come up here such as political, economic, geographical, social and cultural and in each of these issues, the British, America and Europe have a hand and this colonialism system is what they have spread all over the world. Although many countries in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia protested and raised their voices against it, but they failed. And through this, the Colonizers have been showing their strength and wars are going on in different parts of the world around this expansion of dominance. Through this system, they control the whole world and those who do this have named the solution to this problem "internal problems and foreign interference". Actually, there is no need to look at these two problems separately because it is due to foreign interference that internal problems are created in the country and due to this, their colonialism has survived in the world for hundreds of years.

Nuclear weapons are the biggest threat to colonizers because if someone has nuclear weapons, they cannot use their full power for fear of nuclear weapons. This is why the British, American and European Union countries do not want nuclear weapons to fall into the hands of others, especially in some countries in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia where they have long established colonies through the use of force. Nuclear weapons are the world's greatest threat and game-changer. A Nuclear weapon the greatest tool for a country's protection in the current world.

Your viewpoint is all over the place but you miss one crucial factor at the heart of this. Firstly, you have to be a fairly cohesive and competent nation to compile the resources you need for nuclear weapons. You mention Africa, but there seems to be very few nations on that continent that have solid foundations, even places like South Africa have big social problems that deserve funds over nuclear weapons production. Then there is the middle east, a highly volatile region that does not need any more nuclear weapons because it is largely driven by religious forces who frankly deserve little trust. Places like Saudi arabia are also rich enough and don't want to rock the boat.

The world doesn't really need any more nuclear weapons in any country because it just opens up the possibility of massive destruction of the earth.  It's hilarious you think a nation like Burkinifaso should be prioritizing the very expensive production of such weapons when they can barely feed and employ their own population, your priorities are severely misjudged.

Need a little correction, afaik only 9 countries officially possess nuclear weapons, US, China, Russia, France and UK are the core five where North Koria, Israel, Pak and India also achieved nukes. You will find many Arab countries and Africans align with Iran they are in hype but there is no official data regarding their nukes accivment. You know Africa is truly nuclear-weapon-free zone under the 1996 Pelindaba Treaty, so you will not hear anything about active nukes on that region. Also what I get after the war Iran's nuclear program is being closely monitored. This is why you will find low use of nukes rather most conflicts involve diplomacy and balance-of-power measures. Although negotiation and fear are not same thing but nukes lacking counties most often rely on alliances, regional influence & economic advantage.

I share your pain OP because countries like the United States of America who has nuclear weapons are busy fighting and putting sanctions on other countries like Iran who are trying to build their own with the way that the world is today the world is getting more unstable and unfair because is like a situation where your neighbor who has a gun and is telling you not to buy your own.

There are other countries that are more active in wars than in US. As for the sanction, I think it is only like a punishment placed for those who commit a war. That means that even the US can also got their selves on it. There are different countries that will gather and decide for sanctioning. The latest one that I heard that got a sanction is the Russia for attacking Ukraine and yeah, US was among those countries that put a sanction to them.

I'm surprised that Japan is not on the list even if their country is known to have an advance technology.

Not only Japan but also Germany and Italy, they are also countries famous for their advanced technology and strong economy but they do not have the right to possess nuclear weapons. The reason is because they were the cause of World War II, and after being defeated, superpowers like the United States and Russia forced them to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Welcome to the club. Some countries have been doing it for centuries, and some have only recently joined the global game... And what now? A group of people has an unlimited source of money, a stockpile of weapons, institutions, and security services whose sole purpose is to protect that group and their power.

I don't like to sound pessimistic, I doubt we will see some big changes in the near future... at least not big changes for the better. I am not agreed with this statement might is right because now it's already divided between two civilizations, and they are killing Muslims around the world in name of terrorism even there is nothing like in Iraq and Syria where they are crying mas' destruction weapons.

I'm not here to question you but I can see that you have good input and they are well constructive statement. There is no country in Africa that can boast of nuclear weapons but I can vividly remember that South Africa once had a nuclear weapon but I think that program had ended a long time ago.

I see Africa as a peaceful continent that don't need multiple countries boasting of power. If some countries in Africa have nuclear weapons, what will they do with it? Fight their fellow neighbors? Threaten other countries outta Africa? It's cool to see that Africa does not scare about all these weapons and zeal to gain power to threaten other nations. If the United States is good at creating weapons and African is know as raw materials hub, then that's a cool equilibrium for the world.

1.I don't think that Germany has nuclear weapons.
2.Pakistan actually has nuclear weapons. You are putting Pakistan in the wrong list.
3.I haven't heard about USA, Russia or China threatening weaker countries with their nuclear weapons. Maybe you should do a little research about this, before posting bald statements on the forum. Have you ever heard USA, Russia or China saying "we will nuke that area if you don't give us your resources"? Using nukes is counter productive. Diplomacy and negotiations are way better.

If examined and examined in terms of economic and resources, of course Africa is not inferior to other countries, instead Africa if seen from natural products has petroleum, diamonds, Gold and so on, the mineral reserves owned by Africa are quite large including Uranium enough to create the largest and largest nuclear in the world rather than, the US, Russia and others.

However, if you understand the history of Africa, the country first developed nuclear weapons, but eventually they voluntarily dismantle and cancel to develop nuclear programs in the 1990s, if I was not wrong.

I think Africa has a commitment and agreement not to develop nuclear, perhaps in terms of expensive costs, technical challenges or other factors that we do not know, in essence Africa opens a weak country in terms of economic or uranium resources.

I don't know what you are getting at, but do you really expect a country whose annual budget is insufficient to provide adequate medical facilities, good transport network and a good standard of living, to invest billions into their defense sector. The amount of money that is spent on defense determines stuffs like this and the strength of your military, countries that are ravaged with poverty do not have the luxury of channeling billions of dollars annually into defense, so that's that.

In life some set of people are stronger, you can't fight someone that you know is stronger than you, this strong nations you mentioned are very strong and for an underdeveloped nation to challenge them is foolishness, there's nothing anyone can do about it but the thing is as time goes on some countries will grow stronger than this current strong nations.
Thousands of years back there where some nations that was so strong and dominating the world for example Babylon but they where Conquered by Persian Empire under the leadership of Cyrus the Great, so I believe no nation will remain untop for ever, but we pray that war should not happen because if it those a lot of people will die.

African's are very peaceful people and we are not thinking about having a nuclear weapon because is not important to us we have important issues that we are still fighting for which is insecurity, good road, good schools, good hospital, provision of employment, reducing cost of food and other items etc, this are the things we are fighting for and not having a nuclear weapon.

if only that because we do not have nuclear weapons and all the war arsenal that the world powers have that we are even able to take care of ourselves and solve all our needs, then it would not have been a problem. the countries that are about the world powers are competing with themselves on how is going to be stronger than who. it is not just about creating those weapons for self defense, most of them have made it all about pride just to be seen as a nation that has the greatest war arsenal.

unfortunately, if disaster strikes really and they are forced to make use of those weapons, it is then that we will understand that we have succeeded in creating what has the potential of destroying the whole human race if not properly regulated. we have allowed things to go really on the global stage and even if all African countries can not boost of one which tells of how backward we are technologically, not getting it is even safer than having it and using it as a source of threat to other nations that do not have it.
