As a newbie who is trying to learn useful knowledge in the forum I get lost in the vast topics that people have shared. i truly want to gain knowledge but dont seem to find a post or thread helping me.anything i find is just too complex for me. I want to know how bitcoin works ? what are altcoin? and some other bits of knowlege that can help me invest and contribute to the forum.

The forum home page is properly arranged with the titles of each of the boards visible. So depending on the information you want, you can visit the right board and get that information. A clue that will help you is that any board you visit, there is usually some pinned posts at the top of the board and often those posts contain the basic  information you will need from that section of the forum. With those information you could be ready to join the conversations in those boards. I will recommended you go through the pinned post on the Meta board as they will help you on how to navigate through the forum.

It's true at the beginning everything would look complicated on the forum. It's because you are unfamiliar with this forum, and you don't have enough knowledge related to crypto as well. All threads aren't useful here, so you have to spend more time on the forum to find related topics that you really need. The forum search button would help to find the desired topics on the forum. If you don't find it from the search button, then you are free to create your own thread just like this. But keep in mind, most of the important and useful threads have been discussed here. You just need to find them.

On the other hand, you have to engage in the discussion. So you can learn something from there. The forum isn't really complicated, though it looks hard to you. Just spend more time to read; read some guidelines and forum rules. When you go on any board, just try to read pin posts. From there you will get some important data that really helps you to learn.

AltCoins are those cryptocurrencies that came in existence after bitcoin has layed a successful foundation in the decentralized and financial ecosystem known to be cryptocurrency.
To invest, you either have to go through regulatory financial institutions that fascinates bitcoin or crypto transitions. That's if your region support the privileges since most governments are biased to the decentralized blockchain.
In this case of your beginning I think it's going to be difficult for you to buy bitcoin from an unknown supply unless you have someone trusted to do the deal others, you can as well buy from vendors in the Centrslized exchange platforms.

Note that iinvestment on bitcoin you hears about isn't a quick rich investment. To be successful in this volatile market, you need to be patient for quite a long time.
Als note, investing in the AltCoins is not same as investing in bitcoin. A lot of beginners get their funds lost on AltCoins while intended to invest on bitcoin.
Another important note is that you should verify every bitcoin or crypto informations across the media before you acts. This will help you not to be mislead or fall to scam.

We live in a time when all information is available online - whether you ask a question to a search engine or to the damn AI, you will definitely get an answer - and even this forum has its own search engine with which you can try to find what you are interested in. I always wonder why people seem so lost despite all this?

Knowledge is all around us, but the path to success is never easy - unless you're born a rich kid of course - although I consider that more of a curse than an achievement.

You can search and find most of what you want. Searching requires keywords and if you want to learn about something, you need to know what keywords to search with. You can start with only Bitcoin as your search key word but after reading a litle bit about Bitcoin, you will know more about Bitcoin and will be able use more keywords in searching.

The search button can be the most useful for finding the necessary topics. Even in the beginning, you will not put too much pressure on yourself. Spend regular time in the forum and get to know the forum first. Over time, you will become adept at finding the necessary things and searching for the necessary knowledge.
Or enter the given board based on your topic and read the pinned posts, because the necessary and basic posts are always saved there. Or if you are a local board member, read the translated posts there and ask others if necessary.

Well, it might not be that OP isn’t serious, not everyone gets it easily on their first attempt. Some people just need something more basic..
I remember when I was new here, nothing made sense at all..even when I tried to read through things, it still felt confusing. I reached out to experienced users here and they gave me some guidance, but I still struggled so I had to read things over and over just to understand. Sometimes, even after reading, it could take me two extra days of research to grasp the basics. Then I’d go back to what I had read earlier and it would finally make more sense.

The truth is, the more you learn, the more you realize there’s still a lot you don’t know “Learning never stops”. Depending on what his intentions really are, OP just needs to understand that it won’t all make sense at once and that he just have to keep going with what is necessary and keep learning from the abundance resources  .

That’s normal for a newbie like you, you find most of the posts are complex because you have not acquired yet sufficient amount of knowledge and information that will help you understand the forum, and will aid you to simplify those complex posts you’ve read in the forum.

My advice is, just stay active in the forum. There are actually a lot of valuable post that anyone can benefit and learned lesson from it, patience and consistency to learn are the keys. There is no rush in learning, just take your time exploring the different boards in the forum.

OP, the forum is flooded with too many post of what you are seeking to know, you just are not familiar yet with the forum, I guess so. If you are familiar here, you can use the search button on the home menu of this forum to search for anything you want to know or you can explore the different boards of this forum pages by pages and you will find topics are can be helpful to you. If you don't want to go through with exploring every board's pages one after another, you can simply ask the question of the knowledge you seek and if there was a topic on this forum where the knowledge have been discussed before, the active member of the forum will provide you link to those topics like some members already provided you with links here.

I just hope this tip works for you.
Try not to force yourself to grab everything at once. Anytime you log in to the forum, navigate through the different boards, scan through the different topics, check out the ones that pique your interest, and follow up. Don't just follow up, try also to join conversations. Do it repeatedly, and you will get used to the forum.

You can also create reasonable topics just like you've done now and follow up with the conversations you will have on your thread.

You have a goal here, and that is to learn about Bitcoin. Let that be your motivation.

Up to this, idk how newbie you are @OP in the internet, but both of thus keyword method when searching google if you have other questions and the linked threads will be a big help both newbies or non-newbies. As long you understand what you are reading, it will be easy to grasp those knowledge except for the technicalities of bitcoin and blockchain.

From what you have said, it seems like you want to learn the basics of Bitcoin, and you have already researched it on this forum, right?

If so, then I think you can actually find it in various places, such as online news sites, videos, and so on. If you're looking for the basics on this forum, it's already there, but the posts/threads have been submerged, so the current discussion is about the next steps, making you think it is too complex, CMIIW.

I would try to understand what is bitcoin and what are altcoins . At a certain point, even if they seems the same, they are completely different.
In this forum we care a lot about this.

Generally speaking , you can start from the home page reading the main section.
Pay attention in some cases there are "bigger" sub section that deserve more research.

Once you see an argument that you like or you find interesting (Likewise on my case "bitcoin dicussion" and "gambling discussion" ) I spend most of the time to read this section.
It's also really useful the box "search" since you can find any detail about previous discussions in a matter of minutes!
