You can always ask questions that you don't find the answers to, there is no restriction on that, but you should first try to find the answer yourself, and if you can't, then go ahead.

Join your local board (I don't know where you're from), as they're usually the friendliest boards for you to start on and not feel so lost at first

By placing some important basic questions that need answers and answers that will make you will find what you will master.
Getting started with Bitcoin means how to use Bitcoin to send and receive.
This means you need to own Bitcoins by buying or otherwise. Along with that, you will need to have a wallet to store the Bitcoins you will receive from the buying process.

Knowledge about wallets is very important. Remember, not your keys, not your coins.

You are welcome to the forum mate. Already the useful links have been provided by some users earlier; all you need is to go through the link and make yourselfuseful in the forum. Here is a learning community; ask questions anytime on anything you don’t understand.

Don’t do like other newcomers that are creating threads that are not educated. Always bring the best in you to create; it should be educated to others. Moreover, you said you have known about crypto for a long time now, which means it will be easier for you to learn. All you need is to follow the forum rules and regulations.

I dont think there is anything anyone needs to tell you about the rules, the rules is already self explanatory, and I don’t think anyone will have to start explaining anything to you again.

Which mindset are you talking about, as a newbie it’s not proper to create thread just to inform people that you are just joining the forum, just imagine that every newbie joining the forum keeps on creating the same thread which you just created, then how will the forum be? All you will be seeing is introductory threads, you will find it difficult to see even important information, and that’s why I don’t really encourage posts like this.

I know as a newbie you won’t really find things easy, but you don’t have to be in a rush, if you calm down, and you take your time, you will be able to figure out things here without creating thread like this.

As you try to contribute your own knowledge, do ensure to be open minded to learning new ideas and even unlearning the ones you think you knew which may be false knowledge. That's the best way to learn and adapt to a new platform.  We've had newbies who joined the forum claiming they've known about crypto long before they joined the forum, yet they end up dishing out some wrong information to newbies and reject every effort to make them realise they've been wrong all along. Be open to learning new ideas and discarding whatever misinformation you've carried with you for years, that is if any.

Where you should focus on upgrading yourself is on Bitcoin knowledge. It wouldn't sound ideal if you fail to impact yourself with the necessary knowledge of crypto this time as you miss to do that in 2017 when Bitcoin haven't make itself known to the whole world as a trusted assets someone can invest in for future gains.

My advice to you is make good use of the time you spend in this forum because there's whole lots to learn.

To start check out Forum Rules (many members already shared ) to understand what is allowed here and how you can post (there are bunch of threads where you can learn about posting). Rank system shows how active you are based on things like your posts and you merit collection. Feel free to jump in and ask questions and share what you know.

Welcome to Bitcointalk forum. Just settle down and feel free because you are definitely going to learn everything about Bitcoin investment in this Bitcointalk forum. However, it is nice to see that you have some knowledge about Bitcoin already, because first advise for a new beginner in Bitcoin investment is that Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme it required time and patience. Not something you can easily get rich overnight.

My first glance at the forum discouraged me. There are different boards and sections, which I knew nothing about the topics I saw there. I didn't know how to start using the forum. But as I kept revisiting the forum, it became clear that it is very simple to understand. You don't really need to have knowledge about every section to enjoy the forum. Just identify areas that you have an interest in and begin to gain knowledge. Ask relevant questions and contribute meaningful to the discussions.  If your posts are helpful,  you might be able to grow to a higher level on the forum. Many threads have been recommended, and from my experience, reading them will help you to master how things are done here. If your intention is to learn about crypto, you are at the right forum

Which mindset are you talking about, as a newbie it’s not proper to create thread just to inform people that you are just joining the forum, just imagine that every newbie joining the forum keeps on creating the same thread which you just created, then how will the forum be?

We have to learn how to forgive newbies when they continue to create this kind of introductory thread because once one gets started on the forum, your instinct immediately tells you to ask questions before doing any other thing. As a newbie, if you try to figure things out on your own, you might not get it really well as the information might be too much for only to consume and take the ones that matters most to you.

Like them, we where once newbies and at some point created threads we could have just searched for on the forum to find that it has already been created. It is after they have been corrected in this form and they continue at it that it becomes justifiable to publicly condem or sanction such user.

Anyway, there's only one thing I can say is that you can create thread here if you have questions but make sure that it is in the right board. You can contribute here in the forum in any way you know like sharing news, information and knowledge to newbies or not.

Those links posted, make sure you read theough them, and sure you should avoid being in too much hast to ranks up, i see that you already talked about that already but first and important thing to know is that, you dont have to be any high rank to make yout own contributions to forum discussions as long as youvhave something to share with the community.

So sometimes rank is just useless as long as you dont have signature campaign in mind.
