Can Bitcoin kill other crypto?

Bitcoin was not created to fight any other currency, but stand as a unique digital currency in which everyone wanted to use and have the necessary and required financial freedom when using, other cryptocurrencies are coming after the likes of bitcoin as they continue to make moves to be the same way bitcoin has been appearing, they are the one coming after the likes of bitcoin, bitcoin stand to lose or struggle for anything, while other cryptocurrencies are running after the chase to be close to it's utility and value.

And most understand this - yet people still love to think about X coin flipping BTC here and there.. fortunately, it's all speculations, and BTC is still on top.

Currently, I can see that Bitcoin has a dominance of 59.7% .
And at the same time I do not think that the altcoin season will come in the market due to the decrease in Bitcoin's dominance by only around 4.69%.
Because before this, when the market created its first bull market in December 2024, Bitcoin's dominance in the market was around 54%. Even then, we did not see a very good performance of altcoins in the market.

Since you're only investing in bitcoin, it's not hard to see why you don't want altcoin season to come. But the market does not move according to our thoughts and desires. Just because we believe and hope it won't happen, doesn't mean it definitely won't happen. Let time tell.

What I want to say here is that the situation in the altcoin market makes it unlikely that there will be an altcoin season this season. And this is mainly as a warning because people will invest for FOMO and end up facing losses.

Many altcoins saw a significant price increase as BTC.D dropped from 64% to 59%, so it is understandable that they corrected and bitcoin dominance increased slightly.

I really only believe that altcoin season won't come if bitcoin dominance can rise back up to 65% again. Otherwise, sooner or later it will have to drop below 50% and altcoin season will explode.

Many people make the mistake of relying on the past (market cycles), thinking that everything needs to be repeated exactly to the last detail. Just one small change, they immediately assume that history has changed, it is no longer true...bla...bla..bla..And that is exactly what is happening. Just because altcoins haven't been growing with bitcoin all this time, or altcoin season hasn't arrived yet when the bull season is about to end...they immediately conclude that it won't arrive. But for me, and I said this many times in the 2022 bear market, when something keeps repeating itself and becomes too predictable, it needs to change.

I believe altcoin season will come but there will be a certain delay and it will only come when not too many people believe in it anymore.

I believe that many altcoins will die off due to week fundamentals, all the weak projects, meme coins and speculative tokens will vanish over time. Bitcoin is more entrenched than any other crypto that's why I believe that it's strength will make sure any crypto that actually survives, must justify its existence

If you count meme coins, shitcoins, altcoins, there are thousands of coins in the market that were once good but are no longer good, are in bad condition, and there are many coins that are completely dead. Bitcoin can never be responsible for the decline of all those coins that are dead and not in good condition because Bitcoin is a very valuable coin, this coin cannot beat any coin, but because there are no trader and investors, all those meme coins, shitcoins, die. And all these coins can never be valuable.

Bitcoin can't kill other cryptocurrencies because simply put without BTC other cryptocurrencies wouldn't exist, other cryptocurrencies don't have the same history as Bitcoin, It's easy to see that Bitcoin gives life to all cryptocurrencies , which is why no cryptocurrency can compare it to BTC and even if a cryptocurrency backed by gold, precious metals, or anything else that can support it is released, it will never be more important than BTC and BTC won't kill it either.

Comparing BTC to other cryptocurrencies and saying that BTC will destroy it is pointless, debating the Probability of survival of other Cryptocurrencies using BTC as a benchmark is another matter.

Bitcoin never kills all other cryptos, rather there are many alts and shitcoins that die by themselves and disappear from the market. You can definitely see that at present, Bitcoin is the most popular among all the points we have and its number of investors is much higher, moreover, the demand for Bitcoin is also increasing day by day. It has already killed them. Collective human greed by bad and good people will never lead to a situation where other cryptocurrencies are gone. If you think about it simply all those project founders and developers who claim to have a mission to improve the world would have contributed to Bitcoin and made it better if that was true. But they are just trying to sell you their greed with lies, and many people fall for it. They are not interested in making anything better, their primary interest lies in lining their pockets. As long as this is true other cryptos will exist.

I think you are very strongly underestimating the count. There are currently millions of dead tokens.

That is not just the problem, the problem is that many coins are just not increasing. They will increase, later fall and not get to all time high again. They are not assets of value but assets of gambling.

Bitcoin is very different because it is an asset if value.

I agree with you; other coins look like gambling because of their nature and their value. Bitcoin will always be the first whenever they are talking about coins because it is far different from other coins. You cannot buy other coins and have peace of mind when holding them, but when it comes to Bitcoin, you can hold your Bitcoin without thinking about the market like other coins. Bitcoin has more value than any other coin; that is why it remains the favourite coin that people use to trust and invest their life savings in.

Bitcoin has already killed other coins since the day people realised that Bitcoin is not just an investment; Bitcoin is another way of changing lives. It will be difficult to see someone holding Bitcoin and still be panicked unless the person just started investing, but when it comes to other coins, you can never trust them because you don’t know what the price will be; you can wake up one day and be regretting why you invested in them.

Bitcoin is BTC. Bitcoin has nothing to do with anything else, let alone being responsible for other coins. If others want to emulate Bitcoin, no one is stopping them, but their efforts to emulate Bitcoin have not been successful to date.
Bitcoin has never aimed to be a competitor, but if others want to compete with Bitcoin, they are welcome to do so.

Individuals, investors, or traders have the right to choose between Bitcoin or other coins.

Not all Altcoin or token will die off, some of this Altcoin and token has been in existence for some years now and is only growing little by little not the way Bitcoin is growing but they are actually growing very slowly, meme coin and token can't vanish as long as Bitcoin is still in existence they will continue to be in existence also, do you know how many token or meme coin that is created every day they are becoming more bigger, each time I enter some exchange I see many coin and I'm sure they will not vanish Bitcoin is giving them hope of growth.
No doubt Bitcoin is the best crypto coin in the world and is also the first crypto coin to be in existence, one thing I will want you to understand is that people that you see accumulating Bitcoin some of them are also accumulating all this Altcoin because they believe that they may one day grow big the way Bitcoin is today, the only reason Bitcoin is growing bigger is because more people are investing in it and is still possible that in the future one of the Altcoin you see may catch the interest of majority and it starts growing.

I believe Bitcoin doesn't kill other cryptos, because they die by their own incompetence. Most dead coins and tokens have been created with the sole purpose of generating speculative profit for its developers, by just copying Bitcoin, without adding any innovative feature to their own projects.

Bitcoin has nothing to do with this. Actually, such cryptos have never been a threat or imposed a competition to Bitcoin in first place.

There is no reason for bitcoin to kill other cryptos, it’s more probably that altcoins have the goal to kill bitcoin but they have never succeeded ever since. Bitcoin has always been on the top, leading the market, and guiding every altcoins to follow its path. Unfortunately, majority of altcoins are weak coins, and end up vanishing every now and then, while bitcoin consistently move forward and keep its position as the king of crypto.

It's more about trying to kill or replace bitcoin. If you haven't heard, many altcoins are created because of bitcoin. If there's no bitcoin created then many of the altcoins are created based on bitcoin. This is also what happened on meme coins like a meme coin is created and another meme coins is created based on the meme coin but in this case is that it is created based on bitcoin. There's no need for bitcoin to kill the altcoins since it's the altcoins that are competing with bitcoin which many of it failed.
