Most of the posts I have come across here in the gambling section has always centered on negativity about gambling. If it's not about gambling making someone go broke, it will be about one negativity or the other. Sometimes reading the comments in those posts scares me, because of how some people describe their horrifying gambling experiences. This made me to come up with this post to ask this important question; Is gambling really that bad? Are there no good effects of gambling on people? Gambling can't just be all bad all the time. Well if you think it's all bad, why are you still gambling?

Gambling is not bad but people that do not post good about gambling is just that they know the bad side of gambling and not that they are not gambling. It is better to post the bad side thatln to be posting just about the good side of something when it also has bad side. And what they post most time is that people should not think they can make money from gambling, that they should gamble for fun.

Sometimes ago I was in dear need of money up around $120 in my local currency, and for that time I only have around $37 iny possession, only two options are open and left for me, 1: is to ask for a loan from my bank to cover up my $120 expenses
2: is to gamble with the money not the entire money at least $20 out of my available funds that time, I took that risk and in the end I was lucky to win a bet of multiple tickets that accumulated around 10 odds in total and that winning cover up for all my financial needs at that time. So gambling is helpful and good to me in that regards, gambling is doesn't have any bad side  for me but we need to do everything within a set limits that draw back from over doing things that can lead to loaes for us.

When you win a life changing amount and you stop after it, its likely the time when there is a good side of it. But then every gambler reason out they are gambling for entertainment. So yeah entertaining yourself is something good, boredom can make you think of something else so instead of thinking of things that are a lot more stupid, gambling seem to be fairer.

Yea there are good sides to gambling: You get entertained and make some cool money when you least expect it. That's the good side everyone must admit. I know a few persons in my neighbourhood who have established themselves from the money they made from gambling. They've got a business which they financed with money from gambling.

Apart from the fun and financial benefits, gambling makes one a critical thinking and a good analyst which is good in developing the brain.

We often don't talk about the fact that gambling brings people together, there are gatherings that involves people gambling with others, this creates companionship and builds social interactions. Online gambling has also saved a lot of people from boredom and being idle minded because it leads to a whole lot of unpleasant things. What you should learn from those posts and the experiences of people is that gambling can be bad if you don't treat it well. It all depends on you and how you treat and use something, whether it's going to be good or bad for you. A knife is generally used for cutting vegetables and stuff, and for use in the kitchen, but if someone wants, they can use it to kill someone or harm them at least. So, it all basically depends on how a person uses certain stuff and whether they let them be good in their favour or have negative consequences.

Gambling can be good if it's used just for having some fun, and the person gambling knows their limits and when they need to stop. If you get into gambling with the thought process that you are going to become a millionaire, and that you can at least make a living out of it, then you already have the wrong mindset, and in that case, the effects will be negative for you.

Those who gamble for fun and entertainment and stay within their limits and gamble responsibly will never say anything bad about it.

Gambling is not a bad thing, gambling has it own positive and negative sides, depending on the context and the person involvement. Gambling isn't only about losing, it also have entertainment value which is on of potential positive aspect of it, some people see gambling as a form of entertainment as in they stake bets on casino, or sporting just for fun. No that’s not true. Gambling has many positive sides.

Smoking and drinking alcohol are also harmful but as long as you don’t overdo them, they won’t destroy you.

Same with gambling.

Like the other bad habits I mentioned, as long as you are in control and having fun, gambling is no different than watching a movie at a theater.

There are good sides of gambling if you engage in it responsibly, the fun for me is feeling the thrill of risking my money for a win. Ofcourse it has to be with amount that I can afford to loose otherwise it won't be fun anymore. Risks are synonymous with most aspects of life and we can exercise that risk through trying our luck in gambling. But if you're gambling to get rich quick through it that is another level of risks that can lead to addiction if you don't have self control.

I believe that most threads focus on the negative of gambling rather than the positive because of the dangers of addiction. Many people enter gambling with the wrong mindset thinking that it is a get rich quick scheme and they will continue to chase loses if they they don't actualize the goal of getting rich through it.

On the other hand, there are also long term gamblers who insist on this practice, because they feel entertained by gambling, despite the losses faced along the way.
