The way Gold Hunt works:

Virtual land owners place coins on their land and they pay certain amount of L$ in every coin to fill them with budget (on this filling 50% TAX is deducted). Then 50% of what is paid in coin for budget is available to players (Gold Hunters) to collect.

Virtual land owners place and fill coins to generate traffic on their land which helps them to put the land higher on search or get more exposure for their commercial activity (very much like with websites), some land owners also do it for social or altruistic reasons and to contribute to virtual economy. Players (Gold Hunters) who come to collect them are getting coins for free and as they get some virtual money they spend it for virtual goods and that helps virtual economy.

Goldtokens.net also plans to offer virtual goods for bitcoins - special vendors will be developed.

Second Life is an online 3D virtual world where people from all over the world meet and do things together. They organize in group and cooperate, do virtual business or play games together.
Goldtokens.net is a virtual company that creates games inside Second Life (most of the games are social and are the type of games where people make money by playing them like for example Gold Hunt and Fish Hunt).

Goldtokens.net gaming community is not part of Linden Lab who is the owner of Second Life....  Second Life is a 3D platform for virtual world - om a way like Facebook is platform where other businesses can build applications on top of it (like Zynga did Farmville and other games on facebook)...

What may get you interested and other Bitcoin enthusiasts, there's an open source alternative which lets you to host your own SL regions and connect it to a global P2P network, it's called OpenSim. It also has one big advantage, the hosting costs are tiny in comparison to Second Life. It's a pity that it isn't too popular at the moment, but the popularity slowly grows.
Also there's next generation of Second Life under development - High Fidelity, it is going to have architecture and currency inspired by Bitcoin.

If it comes to Gold Hunt it is really nice way to earn your first money in Second Life.

Second Life is mostly built by users and its evolving that is why it is interesting for so many people and a lot of them manage to make money from their virtual products and services.
Some people play games where they get lindens. A lot of Second Life users do fishing for L$ and they make lindens.

Watch for example how fishing looks like:

Yes High Fidelity is very interesting and we are in a way preparing for it and developing products in Second Life that we will be able to move onto new virtual world platform when its ready.

You probably don't have an account created yet that is why you don't get password. Simply pick up a free fishing rod and make few fishing casts or collect a Gold Hunt coin and your account will be created then you can click ATM and it will give you a password.

With the site do you mean virtual world Second Life?

It is not a website based thing - its an application / second life viewer to access virtual world.
