US Americans can now donate towards reducing national debt via Venmo

Obviously this is just a way to put it out there, like add new payment options to an existing thing. But nobody would willingly put money into governments pockets. The reason is simple, democrat or republican, they all kill the budget at all times.

The only person I can think of that did alright, was Bill Clinton, who had a good surplus, from 99 to 01 he did alright, but then things got a lot worse when he left office and we saw what Bush did, by the time Bush took over, he took over a nation with surplus, by the time he left, he left with 2008 crisis of mortgage, we can see how that could be the reason. Obama, Biden, none of them did alright, they were all doing bad. And obviously since 2019, the nation has been in nose dive, both Trump and Biden made it incredibly terrible.

It’s a bit strange and sad at the same time. The government asking people to donate money through Venmo to reduce national debt. People are already dealing with high cost of living, inflation, and low wages.
Now they want help from the same people who are struggling?
This just shows how bad things have gotten. Instead of asking for donations, the government should focus on fixing the real problems, like cutting wasteful spending, fighting inflation, and improving the economy.
If the people had real help during hard times, maybe they wouldn’t mind helping back. But right now, it feels like the priorities are in the wrong place.

Perhaps the money printing were done to be used in support of their friends at war such as Israel and Ukraine which is really not a new burden the American government has been pushing onto her  citizens. In as much as the US continuos to interfere in and meddle in other countries conflicts the debt can never be covered because checking from the inception the debt amount has constantly increased over the years.

We invest a lot of this money into defense spending. NOT aid.

The primary problem is always in the efficiency of money use and not the quantity of money that a country has. Corruption is easily legalized through government contracts in many ways and shapes. This happens in all countries regardless of their standing. Solving this problem would directly contribute to solving the debt problem, but those that rule the country stand to lose a lot from solving it so it is not going to happen without a revolution.

The Trump administration offers new way for Americans to donate their funds towards reducing the national debt.
Such program existed from before and a few millions have been donated in the last 25 years. But the debt is up to the trillions.

This is a new sign of desperation, using a bill splitting/quick money tip app for the government to accept donations...
If only any administration would be so decisive against inflation too it would be amazing. Instead we only see such things when the government wants help and not when the people need help most.

I thought America looked down on socialism? Is this not basically socialism under the disguise of donations? Should the government even be allowed to ask for donations from their own people, who the regularly exploit and divide?

Seems strange to me. But I am sure there will be a few confused patriots who will part with their money, only for it to land in some politicians pocket.

Personally, I would not donate and I agree it is a sign of desperation, incompetence and weakness.

So let me get this straight, the US government first prints more dollars and creates roughly $1 trillion national debt every 2-3 months, which as we all know printing fiat is pretty much the same as stealing from every single American. Then they ask the very same people they stole from to pay them more money to cover up the debt they created in the first place! LOL?

That is not even the worst of it. Let us assume people look past all these and contribute money for the cause, then what? Would the money be used to actually pay the debts? Will the money at least be used to do something like create jobs for people? Or will it just turn into making military weapons or find its way to foreign wars?
If taxpayers' taxes are not used properly, what are the guarantees that the "contribution for the payment of state debts" will be used properly?
