When I first learned about crypto, I believed that any form of advertising in any media was a big risk of losing money. So I am grateful that to this day I have never been deceived by the dreams that were offered. I will trust myself to manage my money and not others. That is my principle that makes me feel secure today.
Looking at the actual situation on the ground, I find it quite unreasonable. Many people are deceived because their logic is often clouded by the greed for unrealistic profits. Whatever the form, never accept it when sound logic has already given a warning signal. This includes the big dreams being sold. IMO

This reminded me to be cautious of scams, though I expected something different, judging by the title.

If it were a dream in the form of a shared idea that I can utilise on my own without the involvement of any party or sending my money to anyone, I will surely take it. But if it takes the clicking of links, or any programs/schemes that are too good to be true, or sending people my money or details whatsoever, I will decline. Scam is becoming rampant and sophisticated these days, we should continue to remind each other of this evil.

That is very good and smart way to invest especially in fast  crypto market. Your rule of trusting yourself to manage your own money instead of influenced by big promises or ads is strong way to manage risk. You are completely right that greed can mostly make people ignore good thinking and learning to see and stop that feeling is most important skill investor can have. Paying attention to those inner warning signals is key first step to not getting tricked and it is helpful habit to have for any money decision not just with crypto.

First way to avoid getting scammed is to be Skeptical about everything, and unsolicited private messages or DMs should be treated with Skepticism hence if otherwise any dreams sold to you by anyone should not be bought, don't hesitate to leave such conversations that have too much of promise of returns to you.

it is not even about not buying into anything that looks too good to be true but rather, it is about doing proper research on anything before eventually investing in them. be it something that soesnt look too good to be true or something that looks too good to be true, still do your own research to be on a safer side. at least, the forum stands as a good option when it comes to making enquiries on what one should or should not invest in, and some, you can always fact check any project that you are about investing in on the forum and then you can be better positioned to make the right investment decision.

What matter the most here is we should not click any links around then try to be curious on what those scammers offering to us.

Since usually this is how bad actor catch  their potential victims that's why we should have due diligence to look at those shady things and better not to think about investing on shady programs.

Newbie should remember this if its good to be true provably its not true. For sure there's lots of advices like this they could read here so they better listen or make it a guide so they won't fall from huge online scams.

buying garbage coins that my friend promoted on telegram, but in the end it just became a garbage coin that made me lose.

Now that they are learning not to trust anyone promoting their memecoins,
it is better to focus on investing in top coins like Bitcoin, ETH and some other top coins that have a clearer future.

Mostly projects that depend on referrals without a well  established and active community.  Some of them even operate like pyramid schemes where value only grow by bringing in new people and once the growth slows the entire system just collapse.

There are still lots of similar projects that has no clear explanation to what the really do as a token, the problem they are trying to solve or how the add value, what maybe their subscribers might boast of is the the token the earn through refering others.

When it’s built on referrers and these referred persons in some way benefits whomever is at the top, then you just know that’s a pyramid scheme and it’s bound to break some day. You always get to think of what happens when those referrers stop and the benefit becomes too big for the project to handle, then you would find it breaking under the systems it did create. It’s usually the fate of every pyramidal scheme and it always needs time to make it happen.

If it's about buying cryptocurreny then it's better if you buy in an exchange rather than from other person like p2p. Even in person like your friend could also get you in trouble especially if the bitcoin sold is  stolen. For buying new projects is a risky investment since the project isn't 100% successful in the future. If anyone aren't aware many new projects are failing and only very few are successful after their launching of their projects.

In the beginning, you can learn from friends you trust. Then you can decide for yourself. Actually, there's nothing wrong with that; all beginners should do that. They should actively seek out as much information as possible. Once they feel capable, they should go out and try what they believe will be better. But remember, you must be prepared for any losses. That's fine whether you're following trading instructions or standing on your own two feet.

My advice to anyone will simply, avoid or do not buy dreams.

If dreams of cryptocurrency of any kind is sold to you do not buy to it.

This above is from my experience, all scams are always tied to selling of dreams, some people call it too good to be true ideas or dreams.

That is very true and doesn't impact crypto but everywhere else in life too. In fact, I have experienced it myself.
I was on a vacation once where some person on a road side offered me a ticket to scratch and win a lottery.
I accepted it and scratched and won a free hotel stay but on one condition that I will have to attend a workshop.
So I went ahead and attended the workshop where the person was trying to sell a vacation package to me.

He initially offered the package to me for around $1700 but I denied saying I don't have that much money.
Then he said he can give it to me on a discount for $1500 but I didn't accept that too.
He said I can book the package for $600 and then pay the remaining later.

So the offer was good but I was a little hesitant about it and so I said that I will come back later.
He then went ahead and offered me a final price of $200 for booking the package but I started to leave as I felt something was fishy.
The offer sounded too good to be true and just as when I was leaving they offered me to book the deal for $60 but I left the place.

If he already hard that thread on their local board, what is the need to create this thread that basically add nothing other than just quote the old thread which is also not even worth it, the best way new members can pass a message is to be comfortable with doing the basic instead trying to get the general attention for whatever reasons.

Ops scam can happen even when a dream is never sold to you, but yes being carful is what matters most.

Being responsible for all choices must of course be accompanied by good knowledge,
seeing how the risks are and not trusting anyone when someone offers to buy crypto and the like.

I started to learn from the many losses and mistakes I made, so it became an important capital for me to avoid the same mistakes.

This is nothing but a complete scam they just collect list of users in multiple ways like get the list of people who made big purchase in the recent days or just trap some randomly and give them 1 or 2 day hotel stay coupon which itself can be used or not but they will ask us to collect the coupon on a particular day and mostly as a couple because they convince women easily by saying attractive terms like you can save 70% money while enjoying hotel stays fr free for a year.

But the intention is clear, they are desperate to make money and leave you to hang dry once they got something from you.

When it comes to cryptocurrency, when in doubt, treat any and every cryptocurrency that is being marketed to you as a scam. Then you will be on the safe side because 99% of the time it will be a scam/pump&dump/etc.

One of the basic statement/sentences used by this cryptocurrency dream sellers or scammers is "This is another bitcoin, if you missed bitcoin around $1 you can buy this new type of bitcoin at $0.00001 it will give you better profit" because it's higher than bitcoin when bitcoin started" bitcoin started at $1 this new bitcoin will sell for as low as $0.0001" ) etc

Yes indeed, in fact they were even willing to sign an agreement and even told me to sign the papers.
But I said I will read it first and come back tomorrow and only then sign it but they were not agreeing to that.
At one point I was convinced and willing to pay but something in me stopped me from paying them.

So I thought of an idea and gave them my alternate credit card in which I have deliberately set a low amount limit.
Then I went ahead to make the payment so that it can decline the payment.
I was a little late in catching the red flags but right on time to exit from the scam.

People are being convinced into believing that they can be the next lucky person that bought a coin and it 10x or a 100x in the shortest timeframe possible. Alot of pump and dump scams are being shilled to people and if you aren't informed, you'll think you're investing into something reasonable and I believe that's what the OP is advising against. Okay.. thank you for the shielded light you just put into here, and secondly you are right about newbies finding a better place to make investment than jumping to trade on coins that has no better future after having to accumulate lot of them.
Trading can be addictive irrespective of whom they are or how much they have while trading. Also, it's that important as well to always remain calm and fear not, it would only take a little process whenever they are fully back it would help to make judicious use of it
