Be grateful for what you have now. Many philosophies say that gratitude is a truly comforting emotion, and I've always believed it's a good one. While you may want more, you need to be grateful for what you have, for your health, and most importantly, for breathing, given our limited time.

But when it comes to work, if it's slavery, I don't know how true it is to be grateful for it. You might work under difficult conditions for a while to survive, but you shouldn't accept it and let it drag on forever.

Working under a slavery condition is also another story. You aren’t working with your potentials, but you are working to please and serve other people, so I don’t see any reason either to last longer with this kind of job. I’ll just prefer to settle into a side hustle rather than focusing with this kind of main job, that won’t let me work with peace and at my own pace.

That is why sometimes, even if you don’t want to, but you have to because the kind of job you have has already becoming toxic on your part. Your environment matters more than the amount of income you are earning.

If we're still working in our current job, we're still luckier than those out there who are still struggling to find a job.

There is no problem finding a job if you have skills and abilities that you can offer on the labor market. There is no luck here.

Slavery can means different things to different people, what you just say might looks like a discipline to another person especially if they are been paid what they have never earned in their life before. Imagine waking up as early as 5:00 am to get prepared for work because you are living in one of the biggest city and you don't want to get to office late, and then when you get to office, you have wait till 11:00 am to beat traffic again, this repeatedly is a slavery work but there are people doing this and love it.

There are some people that can work any under bad condition and feels good, we have so many of them that will suck their boss feet because they are been paid amount they have never earn before. Some boss abused them and all kind of maltreating but they will complain because of the kind of harsh living they were exposed to but as for me, I don't think I can work under any person and get treated like I'm a slave, I will obey the rules and regulations of a where I work but I wouldn't have to be looking like a modern slave.

Even though I agree with your point about humans being content with what they have, I would like to say that peace is less about what you have and more about how you use it. For example, if someone is rich, has a lot of money, has everything they could ever ask for, but they barely care about others who are in need, they never do charity work, and they mock those who are poor and needy. Such people will barely find peace in their wealth, and they will always be surrounded by problems and sorrows, and they won't even realize and acknowledge the reason for it.

Almost all religions say this, but even if someone doesn't believe in religion, they will still find peace in their life if they care about others instead of thinking about themselves at all times. It's easier said I believe, many people are not aware of their present achievements because they are too focus on the future but who are you to blame them? Most times appreciating the present feels like a trap, you won't be able to think about the future and your present will slowly turn into the past.

I am thankful for the present but I am still worried about the future, to me it's just precaution, since I was born things are never the same, every two to four years time things tend to get worse for the economy, I don't want to feel too relax and watch things turn very bad before I take actions, what we do today is what will determine how the future will play out.
