Are poor people just working for mere survival or with the hopes of living a better life far beyond what they can ever comprehend?

Poor people are working for survival first.

After they attain some level of survival where they don't worry about money, food, shelter, clothing, they now move to the other level of pursing their goals and living a comfortable life. A poor person can turn their lives around with the right mindset and surrounding themselves with the right people. Because there are poor people who have gone from being poor to wealth, it shows that it is possible and can be done.

This (mindset) could be the key differences between the rich and the poor, the poor and the poor, Likewise the rich and the rich.
Some rich becomes poor at times based on their mind approaches to their assets or belongings. Some are rich (living beyond just survival) based on some forms of advantages which is supposed to be a bedrock to generational wealth even But should this opportunity (ies) stop so there riches!
Some uncertainty (uncontrollable event) has made somany rich people poor and poor people poorer!! This does not in any way undermine the key differences the mindset which has been proven since human existence. Changes can happen!

Some poor remains poor based on mindset. Only for little sustainables to show up they now want to be like you know!!
However some poor will not forget to project for adequate survival ventures by savings or other methods.

This makes some rich people poor and some poor people rich as has always been revealed by time/the nearest future.

The mindset affects absolutely at least an excellent % of every day response to life to talk of the future

Poor people who don't have any motivation to get out of their situation will just remain there for as long as they can. But those who aspire to get out of it and live a better life, they're for sure going to have a better life through their hard work and determination. While those people that have been in that situation and don't desire to have a better living because the condition that they are in now are convenient for them already. So they stay there for as long as they can and there is no more reason for them to thrive and work harder because that's how simple their kind of living is. While the others will just reason out that there's a different meaning of being rich and poor in heart.

Exactly, there are different type of people in our society some of them try to change their life and som of them like to live where they were. Life is full of hardships and challenges which everyone has to face. Uts true some people are born in poverty its not their fault to be born in poor family. But if they die poor its all their fault because they haven't struggle in life to change it and live a better life. There are some people who struggle and push themeselves against their comfort zone and work tirelessly they change their life to stay happy. They don't have resources but they do all that by themselves and their struggle become their fuel. There are some people who don't care to chnage their life because they lack potential. They have worst mindset just to work like animals and go home to sleep without thinking any idea to chnage their families lifestyle for which they always remain in poverty and die. These kind of peope should think about their children's future and struggle to make it better.

Yeah, those were the words of Bill Gates. I almost quote that with Warren Buffett but it's a different word of his. The people who are content with their situations and lives are really there. And it doesn't need for them to do such efforts just to stay with that kind of living. So they stay poor, live poor and but being there is what makes them happy. Whilst the others, they're living with a different setting and motivation are there because they see the reality of life. They don't want to stay in the same place and situation forever and so, they do everything they can in their capacity and pursues the dreams that they have.

There are a whole range of factors that caused poverty or allow someone to grow their wealth to a high level. Some of it comes down to the willpower and innovation of the individual - some have the energy to hustle relentlessly, try new things, taking multiple jobs or switching companies to move up the ladder. Others might be poor as a product of their environment, maybe they did not get good nutrition while they were in school (making it hard to concentrate), they might have had children early in life which can make it harder to accumulate wealth or they didn't have a strong family safety net to give them that initial strong start. There are so many reasons that it's usually hard to talk about it in general terms.

However most people when they get on the right career trajectory, will grow their finances from strength to strength, so they may as well take the experiences out there and enjoy them - the key thing is not to be wasteful with money.

Finding the right career path is the hardest one. Plenty of people end up not finding the thing they want, so even at later age they are still either looking for a new one, or do not grow to a high level.

I have seen a lot of people who have reached 30+ years old and still at the starting level and they are doing a good job because they love it at first, and even saw one guy who was 42 years old, and at the starter position, no idea how he convinced the company to hire him to a 22-23 year olds job, but he did. It's all about finding the right job for you and if you can do that then you can find it at age 22 and then you can work for 50 years and be the CEO, or at least reach to a very high level and earn a lot more.

If not by inheritance or family backgrounds, everyone are born poor and are expected to work towards getting out of it if you must.
Those who are born rich does not really understand it is a privilege.

No one is either contented of being poor neither the ones we sees. The nature of lively goal to everyone is aimed to acquiring growths which changes their personalities socially and financially towards independence  and some potential significance in the society. But when we have been thriving and it is not working out, then is we're we have to settle for the less and just think the best of life is to stay alive and not really those luxurious life's. Meanwhile... It is everyone ones dream but because the poor or as the less privileges maybe classified, they have no option than feel relax like no worries even in the hard times.

So once you have got privilege/lucky to escape the poverty hood and got experience of the exotic life, you will really feel that different that "toasting to good life" is not just about staying alive but the privilege to get what you want if not all but to am average. These set of rich people are ones who fear more to die because the only lessons life teaches them is the sound warning that if you go broke, you are going backwards and you know what it is? (Becoming the less privilege) again whom were seen as minorities when you want to classify the racism practices between the rich and the poor.

It is easier to move from riches to rag than it is to move from rag to riches. The first route does not require much efforts, just live your life, don't stress yourself and enjoy your money on frivolities and you will be on free ride to rags. On the other hand, moving from rag to riches requires a lot of planning, discipline,  brain power and courage to even start. Not many people are willing to pay the price involved.

It made me think of whether there is a difference between people who grew up poor and people who grew up rich when it comes to their dreams and aspirations and goals.

Certainly! If you are born in rich household, you'll have house, car, other posh experiences handed to you on a silver platter while poor people will be toiling for same for large part of their lifetime.

Are poor people more prone to staying poor because they have become complacent?

I have only realized recently how much deep conditioning runs so I would not be surprised if poor conditioning holds one back in life.

From what I have seen, most poor people live for survival, and there won't be time to think for anything else.

Some people who are from poor background , when they get opportunities they don't make use of it very well, instead they will prefer to go after luxuries and with this manner of spending one can go back to the background where they are coming from. People who are poor and are opportune make money should never joke with investments to generate more money because if the money is not well spent they fall back, and it is not easy to make money. Making money is a life time opportunity that if you don't use the money well and you fall back , you may not meet same opportunity again.

There are two types of poor people in my own opinion, poor people with civilization and poor people without civilization. The poor people with civilization doesn't only think about feeding themselves and their family, they think beyond their daily meals and they thrive for a better future, these are the ones that try every means possible to break the yoke of poverty because they have seen that life goes beyond the struggle to feed. Because they have seen civilization around them they struggle to blend in and hope for a better future. While the poor people without civilization only care about their daily survival or meals, these people are influenced by their surroundings and they feel like life is just about getting what to eat at the moment. And they have become more prone to being poor because they haven't experienced civilization and they are not aware of the other side of life.

Often people assume that poor people do not have dreams because they do not know higher things but that is not entirely true, they know that but sometimes they do not believe that they are capable of achieving higher things, they are afraid to dream which leads to disappointment or they do not know the way to achieve that position because of environmental factors, economic conditions because their time is spent working and lack of support to make it happen.

In reality, both, whether they're poor and want to become rich, or go from rich to poor to achieve their goals, what's really needed is mentality, because becoming rich or poor is primarily about mentality. A poor mentality isn't about how much money they have, but rather their mindset. If they have a poor mentality, they'll be lazy and easily discouraged, and they'll be poor forever. Even if rich people fall into poverty, if they have a poor mentality, they won't be able to get back up. Even when they become rich again, they'll fall back into poverty. But if they have a rich mentality, no matter how many times they fall into poverty, they'll bounce back. So, it all comes down to whether each individual has a poor mentality or a rich mentality.

Speaking of poor mentality. Do people who are born in wealth and have lived all their life in wealth, do such people still have a space in their head to harbour a poor mentality towards money making? Like I have said earlier, it's not really about mentality even though having a positive mentality is needed but it's about the kind of connections you can get based on the lives you had to touch when you were living rich. It's very easy to get back to your feet when there's a structure to connect with.

Ambition and self-discipline are the key differences in this regard. But when it comes to dreams, I think the poor and the rich remain largely the same. They dream of things that are better and better than what they currently have. A poor person who goes from homeless to homeless dreams of owning one. A rich person who goes from owning one large company to owning more large companies. And so on and so forth. The only difference is ambition and self-discipline. Rich people tend to be more self-disciplined and have unwavering ambition. They have clear goals and plans. Poor people, on the other hand, often lack self-discipline, and their ambitions are sometimes not as strong as those of the rich. Poor people also have goals they want to achieve, such as realizing their dreams. But the poor often don't develop a clear plan, which makes their dreams difficult to realize.

But there are some people who come from poverty but succeed in becoming rich. They usually already possess the characteristics of the rich, such as strong ambition, consistent self-discipline, and dreams with a clear plan.

Basically, living in poverty is not the dream of every individual, but there are several factors such as limited economic resources and bad luck in life that make them have to enjoy their status even though they have difficulty in fulfilling their needs, including the desire to have luxury goods. Poor people do not lack the desire to rise and escape poverty, they continue to work and try to improve their standard of living, but luck is always beyond individual control. They continue to strive to pursue their dreams even though the success rate is very small, even so, they will continue to strive so that their descendants do not experience social and economic inequality like them.

it's crazy how many people who become rich in a fast way end up retuning to their initial point some years, spending all their earned lottery prize or heritage
few will invest and learn to multiply their money, taking care of their wealth and respecting it so it doesn't run away from them again

I think, this time around, the rich want to continue being rich, while the poor want to be rich, not be clouded with the mindset of remaining poor. Nobody, whether the rich or the poor, wants to remain where they are, at a spot without adding money to their bank account monthly or weekly, depending on their income resources.

We all know that someone busy deducting money from the one they have, their finances are no longer the same(it has reduced). Because deducting money without adding it back doesn't make someone's account statements read the same in dollars. Further deductions of money can make them poor, further addition of money can keep them rich. The same attitude goes for the poor. No money saved(make an investment or start up a business) rather than spending all the time, which will keep them poor. Making an investment in either crypto, having side hustles can make them rich in the future

It all matters about someones mentality on which majority of us would be that wanting or loving to have those achieved goals but when you are already on the peak or something into the situation on which you are that not minding already too much about on thriving even more but there are those still those individuals who would be that still thriving to have that even more money and its not shocking because people would be always that having that never ending approach on making money and thats very normal,but how much more into those poor people who would be that thriving to make their lives more better? But it would be that still depending because not all poor would be having that kind of positive thinking and doing hardwork to make their lives more better but still there are those people who are that contented on what they do have and thats why they would be still that remain on being poor just because they've been that contented and doesnt make out any steps further on which its up into their own preferences.

For those who had been thinking about their future then we would be that doing all the possible ways and methods on which we can be able to do as long it would be giving out that kind of opportunity for their lives to be changed on which of course its not something that you wouldnt be able to see on each one of those poor people but majority of us would be thriving to have that much more better live and thats why we would be that targeting out to achieve into those goals. Actually it would be just that depending into someones approach and views in life because there are ones who are sensible enough and there are ones who are just that making themselves that being blind just because they do limit themselves on trying to deal up with something because neither they are that lazy or just that not wanting or liking to do something.

The reason why rich stay rich and poor remain poor is that it takes literally 0 effort and knowledge to make money from money.

I'll give you a nice example. Imagine a guy who inherits wealth at young age, for instance gets a large residential building from his grandparents. He already has tenants who used to pay his grandparents and now they're going to pay him. Since he's getting free money every month, he can simply tell a bank manager to do something with it, like invest it into ETFs for him, or just choose a good savings account.

Let's say he's getting $10k a month from the tenants, in a year he's going to have 120k saved up. His wealth manager is going to easily get him a safe 10% a year, so he's going to get another $12k interest.
He doesn't have to do anything, just have fun, travel the world...

On the other hand a poor person will always struggle. You get a parking ticket but have no money to pay it? You have to take a loan. Your kid gets sick? Take a loan! Eventually you end up in a debt spiral you can't get out of.

Living in the same economic comfort zone all the time with all sufficiency is everyone's dream - but unfortunately not everyone can make it happen. Many people should be grateful for what they have - not without effort and hard work, but that's just their destiny. Wealth isn't just about effort and hard work - some people can become wealthy without hard work, and that's their destiny.

Effort, hard work and a drive to improve can be crucial factors in a person's economic transformation. This is the beginning of many success stories - but we can all admit that not everyone in this world becomes rich, no matter how hard they try. The poor and the rich will always live side by side and need each other - this is what is called balance and it will always be like that.
