I think the main reason a country is in poverty is because there are flaws in that country's government system, and that flaw is basically corruption. If corruption can be eliminated from this one country, then poverty can also be easily eliminated from that country.

If corruption is eliminated, the money in each sector will be used properly in that sector. For example, if there is no corruption in the education sector, if the students receive proper education, they will lead the country from within to free it from poverty.

So in my opinion, to eliminate poverty from a country, corruption must first be eliminated.

Another important step is for the country to focus on production rather than solely depending on imports. Some countries are governed by corrupt leaders that plan to exploit the nation monetary income for themselves and family before thinking about the citizens. Also the system used to uplifting the young generation is outdated because the children are the leaders of tomorrow so that's what should be the main target of priority. China focused on that and passed every law to building on children no matter the amount of funds it takes. They let every sector be improved to the highest level, in China, you could see no child standing on the road side begging, such behavior is not allowed anywhere, everyone is up to something doing and getting involved in something worth doing, everyone are trained to reject every free money given to them, they could see it as a poor mentality, simply put, work and earn, not beg and earn.

I'd say that China is the most powerful example in recent (maybe even all) history, in that it came from devastation caused by Chairman Mao and was able to entirely rework their economy in order to become the factory of the world. The hard truth is in the earlier years and decades the oldest generations made the biggest sacrifices - they had to tolerate awful working conditions and often toxic environments but helped the country boom to it's current status. Much of what it has become today was all started and achieved since the 1980's, which when you compare against places like Europe and America, took centuries to get to their current form. Mao did a lot of damage and actively suppressed "intellectuals", making this even more astounding. In short, a few generations will likely suffer much harder than the later generations when wealth is truly achieved.

I see people saying that China has not escaped poverty.. but it's all relative. If they had 1 billion poor 5 decades ago and now have 200 million "poor", they have progressed so far. Saying there are poor parts of China is a bad example, as I have seen some disturbing poverty in places like America, no country is immune.

I would ask this question differently: "What should a country not have in order for it to be able to develop?"

The answer would be - minerals and other extracted resources. If a hypothetical country has "easily accessible" natural resources, then practically nothing in this country will develop. Why? Because why develop science, industry, education, etc., so that the country can subsequently "monetize" it, when you can simply "dig" resources and sell them (like oil, gas, ore) and sell them to neighboring countries. It turns out to be almost the same as the children of the rich (remember the son of the previous US president?), who have no motivation to develop and achieve something in life, when they were accustomed to an excess of "resources". Why should they do this, when they already have everything?

In order for a country (as well as an individual) to develop, there must be a deficit of easy money, which can be obtained at the expense of minerals. When a country has no oil and gas, for example, to sell, then such countries are forced to look for other directions to earn money, and this forces them to develop. For example, to develop science and technology.

Look at all the countries rich in natural resources and you will see that their level of development is not very high (compared to others). A striking example is Africa.

I think every country has its own resources to develop. Some countries have mineral resources, some countries have natural resources or some countries have human resources etc. But the main reason why not every country can develop is corruption in the government system. If you look at poor countries, you will see that corruption is very high in those countries and the government system is very poor. I think a country should pay more attention to creating skilled workers for development. Of course, this indicates the education sector.

In our country the per capital income is like $2000 but our country's GDP crossed Germany and standing around 3.7 trillion dollar economy. Which means the wealth distribution stopped around top 1-5% and the remaining people live in the same old surviving life even when their country is doing good.

I will first answer the question "How do developing countries end up escaping poverty? " They can escape poverty if they do the following:
1: if they have a good government that wants the progress of the country,
2: if the government prioritizes security for both citizens and foreigners,
3: if the country has good natural resources that can generate revenue,
4: if they prioritize building of factories to refine all their raw materials into finished products
5: if they welcome international investment in their country.
6: if they invest in education, (because education is power)

I purposely arranged this things accordingly to explain how it works hand in hand. First, it is only when a country has good leaders that wants their country to grow, that's when  the country will grow and do well. I live in a country where our governments and top politician can not allow their kids to school and study in our own country, why?, because they think that the education system in our country is not fit enough to school their kids, therefore they send their kids abroad to study.  If the education system is not good enough to fit for their kids, why can they not work on it instead of sending their kids abroad? So, this is a problem in my country and it could also be a problem in some countries.

Definitely, development would have been more than the way it is in some countries but because of insecurity, many foreigners has feared to come and invest in the country, because tell me why foreigners will not be afraid to enter a country where even the citizens are not safe? It's still because of insecurity rate of a country that made those top leaders and politicians to send their kids to school abroad, and my question is, why can they not control this insecurity?  In a country where both citizens and tourist are secretly being killed or kidnapped without the kidnappers or murderers being apprehended and justice being served, how can such country escape poverty easily?  In the country I find my self, security is very poor, many people are killed every year without justice being served to the killer. Even rich people in the country are scared to make some kind of investment because they might be killed.  So, where is the growth going to come from when u can not run my company freely?

Some countries are rich with fertile lands, crude oil, mineral resources like gold, etc, but yet they are poor meanwhile if they properly manage all these resources, they can become better. If they manage all these resources very well by building some strong heavy companies to refine these sources, they will produce quality finished products that will be enough for the country and will even have more to export, but some countries are importing finished products at a very high price meanwhile they have the raw materials to produce these products but lack companies to do so. This covers my number 3&4 point.

By welcoming international investment I mean foreign investors, if the country is safe for foreigners, definitely many will come and establish something good in the country which will earn them profits but will also create employment opportunities for the citizens of the country, while the company will pay tax to the government. Growth will happen if all these are considered.

Lastly, education, like I have been hearing the saying since I was a pupil, "education is the key, education is power, " Without education we can not learn to build and develop things, therefore if the government are careless about investing in education, what will be of the society?  All these things will help boost a country's growth and I have seen how it is affecting my country too.

We're missing alot honestly, I guess it is the same thing that most countries in my continent are also missing. One major problem happens to be corruption and manipulation of the judiciary system. Due to the natural resources that we have, my country literally has what it takes to develop itself, but a very few have stepped on it like it's a personal business. Corruption is so high that basic needs like power supply, good roads, etc, are now used as campaign promises.

Not sure of what number two is now, but it is just the fact that corruption can't be eradicated from the system. It keeps getting worse, with zero signs of positivity. It is very sickening to see people putting their own interest first while neglecting those that they are representing. Every other thing that leads to underdevelopment are just subset of corruption.

The majority of the countries that are considered third-world have not invested properly in human capital development.

If you want to see a blueprint of how a country can escape poverty, consider Singapore, a very poor country with no natural resources and a high rate of unemployment but now a huge economy because they invested a lot in human capital development. They invested in education and skill development for their citizens, and now they are reaping the benefits.

In my country, the exact retarding factor against this growth is our government; corruption has eaten deep.

I think it all goes down to good governance.  A developing country can greatly improve if they have smart and honest people sitting on the government office.  Since people are the one making decisions, strategy, plans, and implementation, it is up to the people sitting on the government whether they can improve their country's condition.

Even with all the resources, talent and workforce, if the government does not know how to manage them correctly, the country won't have improvement.  So for me, the key factor of improving a country's economic condition is to have an honest capable leaders and people working on the government office.

I believe that a country will only be developed if there are no corrupt officials in the government of a country. Just like the country of Singapore, which used to be a poor country
but is now a rich country, it is not a big country but the leader was able to develop it because of his management of his territory.

But if the majority of the officials sitting in the government of a country are corrupt or corrupt officials, no matter how good the system is for development,

 Like you mentioned, every country has all the resources needed to elevate them from the state they are in to a better one but what needs to be considered is if the leaders want the change because at the end of the day, they are the ones that can effect the change when they start putting the necessary policies in place.

There are several problems for developing countries:
1) Corruption. This is clear to most people. There are many kinds of corruption done both through illegal and legal means. This is draining a lot of resources.
2) Government inefficiency. Massive issue, often underestimated. In most countries despite the number of government employees, most services are slow, bad or both. A lot of government jobs are life jobs, meaning that the worst people in existence work there and don't get fired.
3) Debt. This one is unclear to most people. Most countries are suffering massive budget losses to interest payments and debt repayment. Instead of the people's taxes being used to improve things, a big portion is being given to rich institutions and money lenders. Debt is good for emergencies or large projects that will generate more revenue than interest and debt payments combined. This is very rarely the case. The rich have managed to enslave most countries this way.

Major improvements on any of these 3 will make a country advance rapidly, and improving all 3 will give you guaranteed prosperity. Do not get debt.
