There are many ways to avoid gambling addiction, but it all depends on the individual. Even if they implement their own rules, if their mindset is problematic, those rules won't have a significant impact or bring positive effects, such as preventing addiction.
Perhaps one important factor is awareness. Players will strive to reduce their gambling, which can lead to addiction, if they realize that gambling isn't something they have to resort to.
Yep, it's always up to us, we can't blame gambling to what's happening to us because it's our decision and action in the first place. Getting addicted is due to our actions and how we lack discipline on things like the gambling and blaming it is like the worst-case scenario for an addict. We have a lot of choices, and we are already in 2025 which has a lot of ways to avoid gambling addiction and yet, there are people still at risk because they lack the control and discipline that's required. Yes, the blame for addiction lies with oneself, not just in gambling, but in other things as well. Everything that causes addiction is ultimately our own fault, not the other person or the object of our addiction. I believe addiction isn't a desire; it occurs because people forget their limits, making them unable to stop even though they know the consequences and risks. To this day, there are still people who gamble, believing it's a quick way to make money. However, winning is random, so there's no guarantee they'll make money quickly through gambling.

I know it’s mostly believed that the more time a person spends in gambling, the higher their chances of getting addicted, but this isn’t always the case. I’ve seen someone who’s actually an addicted gambler but spends very little time in gambling, but he’s a high stake gambler, when he starts gambling, he’ll use all the money in his bankroll to stake a single game and hoping to double his bankroll, sometimes he’s lucky and most times he’s not, sometimes even when he gets lucky, due to his addiction, he’s never satisfied as he’ll also go again and again until everything is gone, so just in few minutes he’s already done. I believe addiction starts from the mindset then it progresses into the time spent on gambling and these two things are the things that makes someone become an addict among other things though. Why I said mindset is because what you think about yourself when gambling and what you think you are gambling for that is the purpose will largely tell on whether you will soon become an addict or not. If you come with the goal of becoming the next richest man in your local government, then be ready to gamble with greed and you are most likely to even spend more time on it. This is typically the reason why I said your mindset could even determine the time spent on gambling because someone who took gambling just for fun and another person who wants to become wealthy through will have different patterns to their gambling and even how long they stay on it.

Of course, it's a question of willpower, the more determined and strong your character is, the less dependent you will be. not only from gambling, but also from smoking, alcohol and any other strong addiction In fact, everything depends on the individual and if the person is weak he will fall into another addiction, perhaps worse than gambling.

This may be true, but no one will really know until they do. Overall, gambling addiction isn't much better than other addictions, as it can impact the family's well-being due to lost money, such as a husband who lost everything in the slots and didn't bring his wages home. Then the family has to worry about how to get money for food, for example. Other addictions can also cause problems for the wife and children due to the husband's heavy drinking. It's hard for me to say which is worse, because it's horrific, in my opinion. It's better to understand how terrible it is from an outside perspective and avoid doing it ourselves, so that our families have everything they need and don't lack even the most basic needs.

Gambling can easily lead to addiction, but through that experience some individuals learn from their mistakes. As a result, they may become more cautious and better at managing risks. However, not everyone improves some people end up in a worse situation. That’s why many view gambling as a harmful activity.

Not all might have actually gone through difficult phases if they started on the right ground; by only coming for excitement rather than profit-focused, they can learn from others' experiences and equip themselves with the right knowledge that will guide them from ever getting addicted, and for those who have already been through the addiction phase, they will learn from their own personal experiences.

Your decisions are not always wrong but you may not win. Instead of blaming ourselves for the uncertainty of the game, it would be better to consider it as a means of entertainment. Not understanding our boundaries properly creates the possibility of gambling addiction. I think addiction is a negative result of gamblers' own mistakes, like being prepared to face bad situations in the future even if you don't get the result you actually made at that moment. As you said, gamblers who give more importance to gambling for the purpose of making money are more likely to be addicted. Those gamblers consider gambling as a mandatory source of earning money and want to bet more and earn money beyond their financial capacity. But they should know that gambling should be played only for entertainment to earn money.

Gambling has been in an existence long time ago and it has always been fun all the way. Many people got involved in gambling just to have fun while some other people see it as there own way of expressing passion for games, sporting bet etc. however gambling that was initially made for fun and excitement later became a major problem to humanity due to addiction that has lead to the down fall of many young people that got involved in gambling.
Although gambling that was made for fun and excitement, turned out to become a problem to man because man didn't use it wisely. Just like they say "gun don't kill people but people kill people" this means in this context that you are the products of what you exposed yourself to or could possibly mean that what you get addicted to has no capacity to make you addicted but you can expose yourself to getting addicted do to how you tok it more seriously than anything else. - how can we avoid or control our gambling activities so that's it wouldn't lead to addictions ?
This has been said often and on or repeatedly that you should gamble with what you can afford to lose, gamble responsibly sothat you don't gamble above budget. Have a start and stop time. Know when to quit when necessary and stop chasing loses. Don't allow greed or emotion control you.

You mentioned learning from other people's experiences but one thing I have noticed is that most gamblers do not share their experiences of losing or how they lost huge. They basically always try to tell themselves when and how they won a lot of money from gambling. I myself do not like to talk about when or why I lost or lost a lot of money. This is a psychological thing because no one wants their failure to be revealed. But it is necessary for all gamblers and if someone is new to gambling to explain to them the right way to gamble responsibly. Another thing is that if someone does not face any losses themselves, then no one can learn from gambling. In the beginning, all gamblers are in a kind of excitement. That is why at that time they do not give much importance to any advice or learning from someone else's experience. At the end of the day, a gambler understands from his own position how much risk he will take and sets a set budget. And those who can control themselves reach a stage of addiction from which it becomes much more difficult to recover.

Some could also argue that those who gamble for fun can even get more attached to the game than those whose sole purpose is for profit, but I will say both have equal chances of getting what will either stop them or lead them to addiction. It is their level of discipline. You mentioned learning from other people's experiences but one thing I have noticed is that most gamblers do not share their experiences of losing or how they lost huge. We have gamblers who are too afraid to admit that they have been losing for reasons best known to them. I don't see the point in not taking responsibility for what you have lost, lying to your own self and also lying to others at the same time. And when I talk about others' experiences, I'm referring to those who have voluntarily shared how they suffered due to addiction and how they managed to get out of it. We have such stories online and even in this forum, which anyone can always learn from and not allow themselves to be in the same situation.

Profit focused gamblers are the ones that do have the higher chances of getting addiction from gambling and this is not always because they gamble too frequently but because their mindset is to make profits by any means. For your to be making profits from betting always, you need to know what you need to do to be seeing results. Many gamblers are always getting it wrong, trying to make bugger profits from gambling when the focus should have been working on themselves and staying disciplined to avoid any atom of addiction that can cause lose of capital.

You’re not wrong about this, not everyone who gamble for profits are actually addicted or are gonna get addicted as a lot of us mostly say. It’s just that people who gamble for profit are most likely, that is their chances of getting addicted or incurring huge losses are pretty high since they’re the ones who’ll most likely chase their losses in order to recover their losses and make sure they stay in profit. But there’s actually a handful of others in this category who knows just how to keep their emotions in check, regardless of what turn the game might take.

After losing a lot of money due to gambling addiction, if we say that we have lost money because of the gambling site or if we blame the person through whom we learned about gambling, it will not be right because no gambling site personally inspired a user to gamble or through whom the gambler learned about gambling did not force the gambler to gamble, but the gambler gambled at his own will, risking his own money. After losing money, we need to stop blaming others and work on the issue of why gamblers are losing money. Those who can work on these issues themselves do not lose money later due to the same mistake and they keep learning gradually. Many people have the idea that there is not much to learn in gambling, but here you have to rely completely on luck, but this is a wrong idea. In addition to applying your skills to the fullest, stopping at the right time or taking bets at the right time also plays a very important role behind the victory of a gambler.

Most gamblers gamble for profit, although many people will not admit it, but it is true to a large extent. Those who say they gamble for fun are probably hiding the truth. Long term gamblers tend to gamble for profit but there are a very small number of new gamblers who start gambling to test their luck for fun but soon they also start gambling to make money. Most gamblers have a mixed mentality, they gamble regularly for both entertainment and the hope of profit. Fund management is the best way to avoid addiction.

You are right, also most problems with gamblers that gets addicted is that they are always greedy, they just don't want to let it go both those that are chasing their losses or wins, because they feel that have lost alot and needs to recover it within just short period of time and that is where they get it all wrong since they tend to lose more and get addicted. The only way way that one could avoid addiction is to gamble responsibly.

So, the bottom line is our own self-control. If we can control ourselves well, we won't experience addiction in any way. However, if we lack self-control, such as gambling, it can become addictive, especially when the opportunity for profit tends to be a strong temptation, and many people fail to restrain themselves. Falling into addiction is evidence of a lack of self-control, such as discipline or boundaries, because addiction is caused by excessive behavior in certain activities, One example is gambling, where there are many cases of people becoming addicted, with its consequences quite clear.

Gambling has been a long time thing and it's fun for some people, its has always been a big problem to young people because of how some people get addicted to it.
The best way for staying safe as a young person is to avoid gambling.the money is not fully assured rather it will only make you end up in tears and regrets. The only wat to avoid gambling as a young person Don't follow friends who are into gambling because at the end you will be addicted to it,and if you're tempted to just talk to an adult you can trust.

Addiction swirls the player like a whirlpool, difficult to escape, but the force pulls them ever deeper. After all, if they lose, they want to get back the money they recently lost. But this is also a mistake, because it's no longer their money, and the player thinks they'll quickly and easily win it all back to calm down, so they won't be left in a bad mood, but this only drives them even deeper. Even as I write this, I realize that many players know this, even better than me, but don't use it in real play, because it's not as easy to follow as it seems at first glance.
