Do you suggest that the Community Shield final was fixed? If this is true, then football has completely turned into a scam, and all football clubs around the world(both big and small) should be investigated by the authorities. I can't believe that the Community Shield game was fixed.
Maybe your friend was lucky. He (or his "trusted" source of information) predicted that the game will end in a draw, but he didn't predict that Crystal Palace would win the trophy after a penalty shootout. This is kinda suspicious. If the game was really fixed, he would've known the final outcome.

We've had some discussions here regarding fix matches being real or not, but today something astonishing happened where I was watching today's game that made me start to believe this narrative about fix matches being true.

It's true. Match fixing is real, bro. That's why you often see end results of matches that will wow you. If there's nothing at stake both teams are playing for, there are higher chances the match would be sold out (fixed). Where I haven't noticed match fixing, and I think it's impossible to do that at that level, is during finals. It's so because ego and pride are at contest there. Both teams will be playing for that.

I wouldn't call it a fixed match but a good prediction from someone who understands the strength of both clubs. Big leagues don't involve in fixed matches because the consequences are far higher than the advantage and no one will play stupid. The match was filled with thrill and endless actions for that reason; I wouldn't believe that the match was fixed.

The reason why I have this feeling and conviction that matches are fixed and manipulated sometimes is that, sometimes there are matches you will watch and you will be seeing the players playing crazy football, sometimes a striker will see opportunity to score they won't score, some will meet open goal post and they will shot over the bar and people call this crazy football and yes it can be a crazy football but sometimes it look intentional, like they purposely missed the chance I don't know if anyone has experienced this. I have watched a game someone told me it is a fixed draw and I was watching player miss one on one, empty goal post and goalkeeper was also saving like never before.

Draws are are highly fixed especially those games that appears in the weekend pool fixtures table. For those of us who plays weekend pools will understand this more better, because the FA knows how many draws they want to happen in their selected numbers of games that weekend. Any game that doesn't appear in the weekend fixtures list can play as they want, but as long as the FA wants you to play draw, that team has no choice but to play draw. Those that don't play weekend pools will argue this, but this thing is real.

the issue about match fixing should be generally ascertain it could happen as a draw or as a winning, it is called manipulation I believe that a lot happens behind the scenes before the game to which we the gamblers knows nothing about, matches can be unpredictable which of we know but most times it can be very obvious to see the hand writing on the wall boldly but it can't be contested because there no prove, sheets happens and for real matches can be fixed and I know a lot of people might not believe this for it's existence.

I can only speak of draws being fixed and not other outcomes that happens in other matches that don't end in a draw. What I see is that if the sequence that the FA wants to use in a particular month don't affect your a certain team, they won't play draw that period. Whatever they want they can play either they lose or they win. I can only speak from the experience I have gathered over the years as gambling, that has been playing weekend pool. Any draw you see in the premier league, championship, league one and league two are fixed draws. But other outcomes apart from draws are not fixed.

But if you believe that a fixed match is happening and the team you were supporting at the time does badly, then the idea of that fixed match becomes more vivid to you. You will feel that the match is also fixed. The chances of this happening in a good match are very low, but it is not unusual for it to happen in a normal match. There have also been complaints about fixed matches where there was no real fixing. If you make a Quick search you will find dozens of issues in Italy. Despite this is a well known tournament, many issues arise during the years.
I think that nowadays match are widely rigged only for side bets like Yellow/Red cards, correct numver of corners and so on ..

For him to have staked 100, 000 Nigeria Naira on that bet show's his level of confidence in what his friend gave him regardless if the story he you us true or just false a d fabricated one, but the end thing is that there is no sure bet since football games is unpredictable most especially the international leagues.

Today someone came in where we were watching the Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool community shield game, a fan of Manchester United, and joined our table of discussion. As the discussion was on going, the supporter said his friend gave him the Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace match to bet as a fixed FT draw. Most of us did not believe it until he showed us where he staked the game, and at that point Liverpool were already leading by 2:1, so he said he was about to lose #100,000 (Nigerian Naira), but he's not worried because there was an agreement they had that if the game did not play, his friend is going to refund him. Particularly, I do not totally believe in a possible fixed match of a thing, but to my gratest surprise, I couldn't believe how the game ended in a 90-minute draw.

According to the guy, he said this is not the first time, that he's friend trust he's source, whereas he never disclosed any information to us upon our efforts trying to get more info.

I have a similar experience where a friend of mine shared a game he told me he bought from a telegram channel, they were just two draws on the bet slip. He staked high on it because he seemed very confident but I wasn't convinced. I told him that I would just wait to see the outcome even after he told me they were fixed matches. To my surprise the game was successful but I still think it was based on luck

There can definitely be match fixing anywhere, and even some players may do something for themselves just to make some extra money. I know that's happening in other sports, but I'm not sure about FIFA or any association that is part of it. Maybe they have some kind of sports integrity bodies that could monitor and investigate it? That's an interesting take to do IMO.

What most people fail to understand is that football is a business, sometimes the results of some matches are decided even before it is being played, there have been news of players, teams, and even club managers getting involved in match fixing and when the FAs carried out most of this investigation to know if actually the game was fixed by any player they mostly turn out to be true in most cases and you can see some of these players, even managers getting either banned, suspended or pay a fine for match fixing. Match fixing isn’t only limited to deciding the score of the game, sometimes most players will deliberately do something just so they could receive a yellow or red card in a game, sometimes most goal keepers will deliberately make some intentional error by tipping the board to a corner kick so that they will be able to concede some number of corner kicks in a game. We have heard news of the Nigerian Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye who plays for Udinese in the Italian serie A deliberately receiving a yellow card in a game and he was suspended for 3 months and also got a fine for such act. So, its actually true that match fixing exists in all leagues, not just in Local matches.

You are right, everything you have said is on point, the FA frows at individuals involved in match fixing, because if they allow players to be involved in it, it will become very obvious to spectators that this match fixing are real. The FA just want to reserve the exclusive right of match fixing so that it will be a bit discreet and not open to the general public. That's why the FA, hands out a lengthy punishment to any players, coaches or officials involved in the act of Match fixing. Because match fixing are not supposed to be done on individual basis.

It’s hard to trust information like this because even if a game could be fixed (which, by the way, isn’t proven), anyone with some inside info could place a bet, but in major leagues, that’s pretty unlikely. My feeling is it’s just luck that they predicted the outcome right. If they could actually show some proof of a winning streak along with conversations about a fixed game, then maybe they could convince me.
