These people might just waiting for the dawn to come and they're free to gamble all of their pension money. Coming from the young professionals to senior professionals becaue any amount that they lose, they'll have it next with their salaries to recover and can gamble again once it arrives.

I think addicted is bathed on the fact that one begins to see gamble as a source of income especially when they don't have jobs or when they feel their jobs isn't paying them up to their satisfaction. But the truth is, humans in general are hard to satisfy, initially when they got the job they may feel some level of relief and satisfaction but as time goes by, they also gradually start to increase their bill making their income look insufficient and the want for more begins. And if they're  not disciplined they'll  end up devising a means which in most cases is gamble, and when they begin to see the opposite  of their initial expectations that's when chasing loses begins, making them addicted.

Here I will against you because I am not feeling old peoples getting easily addicted its have fewer chances because they are well experienced, and they are also well aware about things which are happening around them.

Old people are not really gambling because of lack of money as they have family and friends that'll be willing to look after them. It's boredom that makes them to gamble most times than looking for money. To solve this we can enroll them into elderly homes that can look after them if we're too busy to have time for them. Those teens and middle-aged people are mostly affected because they know how to use phones or PCs. Those old people, though I am not generalizing, are not that well versed in using phones or PCs. Though you can see old people using phones, mostly they are just doomscrolling on social media and not gambling, and they can easily control themselves on stuff like that.

One of the reasons that they easily got addicted is because they are bored, and they think that gambling is a pastime and fun. Mostly, I saw on the news that they started depositing a minimum amount and just wanted to kill some time or relax after their long hours of work, but then that's when the horror started.
