Lately, I’ve started noticing that on various Bitcoin-related platforms, advertising is dominated almost entirely by gambling businesses. Other types of advertising have almost disappeared.
This came as a surprise to me. I remember when Bitcoin was primarily used as a means of payment on darknet markets. Later, the main use case shifted toward trading on cryptocurrency exchanges, and their ads were everywhere.
So does this mean that today Bitcoin has become primarily a tool for gambling and betting? That question got me curious, so I decided to dig deeper. I looked through the “Gambling” section on Bitcointalk, and it struck me that not all companies discussed there are actually Bitcoin-oriented. In fact, I even found some threads that had no real connection to Bitcoin at all. There are gambling services being discussed in the “Gambling” section that neither accept bets in Bitcoin nor pay out winnings in Bitcoin.
This really distorts the picture and makes it harder to understand whether Bitcoin itself has truly become mainly a gambling instrument at this stage.
Perhaps it would make sense to create a dedicated section called Gambling (Altcoins) inside the “Alternate Cryptocurrencies” forum?

There are gambling services being discussed in the “Gambling” section that neither accept bets in Bitcoin nor pay out winnings in Bitcoin. You can report them to moderators. Or you can post their links on this thread instead. If reported, such thread will likely be moved to either Service Announcements (Altcoins) or Service Discussion (Altcoins). All services that remain on the gambling board have bitcoin as an option for payment.

Firstly, bitcoin is used differently by different people according to their needs because bitcoin is a liberty coin. You can choose to gamble with your bitcoin while I choose to buy car with mine and 1maiu might see his own as a precious asset not to be sold for any reasons.
Creating another board for Gambling (Altcoins) will water down the strong effect of the gambling board in SEO. You can simply report projects not accepting bitcoin. Besides, that shouldn't be a sound yardstick. It should only be applicable in the service board if they are paying their campaign participants in any other coin other than BTC.

If a gambling site has announcement on the gambling board but not accepting bitcoin as one of the currencies that can be used for deposit and withdrawal, the gambling site announcement supposed not to be on the gambling board but should be on either Service Announcements (Altcoins) or Service Discussion (Altcoins) board. If you noticed any gambling sites that do not accept bitcoin, report it to be moved there.

Am I correct in understanding that a topic in the Gambling section discussing a subject not related to Bitcoin contradicts the forum rules? If so, does this apply only to topics dedicated to specific companies, or also to more general topics, such as Offline gambling!? For now, I won’t provide links here to specific topics where projects not working with Bitcoin are being discussed. At least not until I’m sure that this contradicts the forum rules. Otherwise, what if those topics get moved unnecessarily, and I end up making life difficult for those participating in the discussion who might lose the topic if it’s relocated?

The gambling board under the marketplace was supposed to be for casino that accept Bitcoin. Can you specify the topic to make the question clarify because on “gambling discussion”(sub board of gambling), discussion to any topic related to gambling regardless if it’s not directly involved Bitcoin is allowed. Only the general Gambling board doesn’t allowed casino that doesn’t accept Bitcoin because there’s a separate Altcoin board for services like that.

I don't think that we have a lot of casinos that purely dedicated to altcoins as their main deposit and withdraw scheme? And that's why if a campaign opens that pays in altcoin and it is posted on the Services section it is moved then to Marketplace (Altcoins) > Bounties (Altcoins). And this is kinda the norm already, unless there is a big explosion of campaigns that pays in altcoin and they will have their own ANN thread and a separate Gambling board. But I don't see that happening.

This has been suggested several times in the past, and from what I remember, there aren't enough crypto casinos that are focused on alt coins that are advertising here in the forum to warrant a dedicated subboard for them.

Actually, every single casino that I've come across especially from this forum that accepts stables and altcoins also accept bitcoin as a form of payment. Because of this, I suggest that the board is are left the way they are. Consider the fact also that a majority of campaigns from casinos too here also deal in bitcoin.
When you decide to further split boards, sometimes the activity on the boards actually drops and this is exactly what will happen if there were more than one gambling board.

I don’t think Bitcoin’s identity has shifted into being just a gambling coin. As we all know, Bitcoin still widely used for different purposes like saving, remittances, payments and yes, gambling too. From my own understanding, I think the real issue in what you're saying here is VISIBILITY. With gambling ads everywhere and non-Bitcoin services flooding the Gambling board newcomers can get the wrong impression and that's somehow against the core objectives of Bitcointalk.
That said, the name of the forum is Bitcointalk so threads about platforms that don’t accept or pay out in BTC shouldn't even belong or make it to this space at all, so if found, I think the best measure is to report them immediately.
Lastly, I think agree with you that A sub-board like “Gambling (Altcoins)” under Alternate Cryptocurrencies would filter out the noise, keep the Bitcoin side clean and ensure the forum reflects reality instead of letting one noisy sector dominate the narrative.

Let it make sense when you say non-Bitcoin services flooding gambling section, the gambling board is well regulated, each section has its own purpose, and for me all threads are currently where they are supposed to be. Moreover, all casino in gambling board do accept deposit in Bitcoin, If you don't agree then name a few projects that only accepts stablecoins.

I am also of the opinion a sub-board isn't needed. Currently we still don't have many altcoin-based casinos in the forum that would warrant creating a sub-board. The best approach still remains reporting such posts to the moderators, who will then decide whether to move the topic to its proper board or remove it entirely, depending on the case. This way, the forum stays organized without the need to create a new section that may not see much activity.

Oh lordy, no. We definitely do need another section dedicated to gambling, whether bitcoin is mentioned or not. You said you checked out the gambling section(s) so you must have realized that most of what gets posted there is 96% garbage churned out by members in gambling-related campaigns and who never stray very far into other sections.
I've seen plenty of threads where gambling topics that are only tangential to crypto are discussed for dozens of pages, so how would a new section narrowing the focus to altcoins add much to the slop that's already there?
I'm voting a hard no on this one.

I fully agree with TSC's opinion, there's no need to have another section of the forum entirely dedicated to gambling and those casinos that OP mentioned should remain in the current gambling board. Without any doubt most of the topics and posts in the gambling board have nothing to do with Bitcoin, and most posts of those boards are created to meet their weekly post quota of gambling signature campaigns. So, it's better in the current way rather than making new board for such casino that neither accept Bitcoin payment or have Bitcoin in betting options of their platforms.

Lately, I’ve started noticing that on various Bitcoin-related platforms, advertising is dominated almost entirely by gambling businesses. Other types of advertising have almost disappeared. Gambling business supports the use of cryptocurrencies without any glitches, while you can conveniently make use of bitcoin to gamble, the next most sorted for after the gambling platforms are the exchanges, which we see the way they were also being advertised on this forum, because these platforms see bitcoin as a key platform they can advertise their services and get across their users. So does this mean that today Bitcoin has become primarily a tool for gambling and betting? What about we considering for gambling before now, has there been any abuse on it and the use of fiat currency to gamble, if so, then we should not see ourself as crypto or bitcoin holders being for the purpose of gambling, just that majority of bitcoin holders could probably be fans of gambling. This really distorts the picture and makes it harder to understand whether Bitcoin itself has truly become mainly a gambling instrument at this stage. It doesn't, because the gambling platforms does not support the use of bitcoin only, there are other crypto and even fiat. Perhaps it would make sense to create a dedicated section called Gambling (Altcoins) inside the “Alternate Cryptocurrencies” forum?
Do you remember that even the gambling platforms does not only uses bitcoin as their preferred and most supported currency, other cryptocurrencies are also allowed, so this is not a thing of bitcoin being the major targets for use in gambling.

So does this mean that today Bitcoin has become primarily a tool for gambling and betting? That question got me curious, so I decided to dig deeper.
Bitcoin can be used for anything including gambling and bets. Bitcoin blockchain allows all people and companies to use it for transactions and on Bitcoin blockchain, people can do many things that are their individual interests or their companies' interests. If Bitcoin blockchain restricts any person, any company or prohibit any trade relates to anything like gambling, trading, or activities that consider as illegal, it will become a censored blockchain while it was not designed for this purpose and it has never been like this in its blockchain operation since 2009. The appearances of gambling companies here in this forum in signature campaigns are likely because gambling companies easily get profit and they don't see anything harmful for their company budget by advertise their brands in signature campaigns. Such advertisements can bring traffic, inflow of money from users an and maybe help online gambling companies get more profit.

Lately, I?ve started noticing that on various Bitcoin-related platforms, advertising is dominated almost entirely by gambling businesses.
I looked through the ?Gambling? section on Bitcointalk, and it struck me that not all companies discussed there are actually Bitcoin-oriented. In fact, I even found some threads that had no real connection to Bitcoin at all. There are gambling services being discussed in the ?Gambling? section that neither accept bets in Bitcoin nor pay out winnings in Bitcoin.
This really distorts the picture and makes it harder to understand whether Bitcoin itself has truly become mainly a gambling instrument at this stage.
Perhaps it would make sense to create a dedicated section called Gambling (Altcoins) inside the ?Alternate Cryptocurrencies? forum?
I don't see the point of creating a new subforum, in my opinion what we have is already sufficient and excellent Your request may make sense if there is a deep motivation in creating a subforum, otherwise it is just a duplicate this obviously in my opinion, in my humble opinion

Why is it that any small thing we see will only be ringing in our minds attack on bitcoin, this forum is not moderated by the government policies or officials, we are independent of them, the us of bitcoin for gambling has been one of the reasons bitcoin uses are going more bigger, don't quote me wrong, because i said one of the reasons to bitcoin use, because most of the gambling platforms allowed to use bitcoin and also a number of bitcoin are into gambling, while there have been gambling right before the introduction of bitcoin in 2009 we cant always get scared of what the government may react about the use of bitcoin for our own benefits.

Am I correct in understanding that a topic in the Gambling section discussing a subject not related to Bitcoin contradicts the forum rules? If so, does this apply only to topics dedicated to specific companies, or also to more general topics, such as Offline gambling!? The gambling board under the marketplace was supposed to be for casino that accept Bitcoin. Can you specify the topic to make the question clarify because on “gambling discussion”(sub board of gambling), discussion to any topic related to gambling regardless if it’s not directly involved Bitcoin is allowed. Only the general Gambling board doesn’t allowed casino that doesn’t accept Bitcoin because there’s a separate Altcoin board for services like that. The link to one of the threads in the Gambling board that has nothing to do with Bitcoin is already included in the message of mine that you quoted. As for the threads dedicated to specific companies - I’d rather not draw the moderators’ attention to them for now, so I won’t provide links here. At least not until I find solid confirmation that posting such threads in that board is indeed against the forum rules. The thing is, I have the impression that everyone assumes such threads are not allowed there - but not because of the actual rules, rather because somebody, somewhere, at some point, kept repeating it (who? when? where?). And if I now highlight a specific thread, the moderators might move it to another board, even though it may not violate any rules at all. And in that other board, the thread creators probably wouldn’t want it to be, since they chose to post it in “Gambling” in the first place!
