but they have to still make up their mind that they’re ready to reduce gambling and also work by the rules set to relief themselves off the addiction of gambling.

I agree, this should be initiated by the person who needs the counselling/advice.  I myself would feel uncomfortable if someone whom I don't know gives me advise without me asking for it.

In addition, if an addicted person asks for counselling, we better refer them to people who specialize in gambling addiction. We can give him moral support from then on.

Those are persons that gets it all wrong in gambling because that is not what gambling is supposed to be, when you gamble, you are not supposed to be carried away with gambling to the extent of turning it to be your job while your main job suffers, soon when he gets sacked from his real job as a result of his carelessness where is he going to have money to gambles, now that he his just getting addicted, his family and friends are suppose to be trying their best to pull him out .

Gambling addiction is not new. We often see people who have forgotten their purpose in life or their path in life, now their purpose in life and the only path is gambling. Advice alone will not be enough to bring such a person back to normal life until he repents for his actions. As soon as he repents, your advice may be effective and you can give them rehabilitation advice which will definitely be considered an effective advice.

Honestly, it's quite difficult to convince people who are addicted to gambling. Just once or twice is enough; at least we've tried. After that, let them be, and be wary of them, don't interfere too much. Because in the future, we never know; crime can happen when the opportunity arises and in a cornered situation.

I also had a friend way back between 2015 and 2020 who also lost his family, that is, his wife and his son whom the wife took and ran away, as a result of gambling addiction, this dude was so addicted to the extent that he was always financially broke, we both worked for the same company and we were both paid almost the same amount in salary, his own salary was slightly higher than mine because he was my senior in the company, but his addiction to gambling was so bad to the extent that if we are paid salary today, as soon as we close from work, this guy will be heading to a casino or betting shop to gamble straight from work without first reaching his house, and by the next day, he would call me asking me to lend him some money so he could buy food for his family.

At a point, the wife could not take it anymore, she took their only son and left without trace, even the parents of the lady didnt know where she ran to.
This is one of the dangerous side effects of gambling addiction, every gambler must fight against being addicted to gambling with every thing they have because addiction is no friend to any man, it's a dangerous mental illness.

You cannot get them to stop gambling even after trying a hundred times as long as they have the money available to them. There are many examples of gamblers like you gave who continue their activities and you can't stop them. Have you ever tried to give advice to someone who is addicted to anything, though? It is pretty much useless unless the person in question is willing to change that life style for one which is actually constructive and can provide for stability and a secure source of income for it's household, so can provide for his family. Talking to someone who is addicted to gambling and still wants to make money out of it, it is similar to talk to a dude who is addicted to drugs and still wants to fund their addiction.

So don't lose your energy on people who don't even want to be helped in the first place. They will eventually realize they help, and they will will actively seek for it, they are not entitled to the time and energy of anyone.

It is difficult to advice them to stop or control their gambling activity especially for those who use gambling as a job. They become addicted to gambling when you advice them, so they will not listen to you and still gambling. They think that what they did is right for them but if they can realize what is change to their lives, they will see that it slowly turns their lives bad.

They must wake up from reality and leave gambling as a solution. If you really care about them, you should not leave them like that but you should still be beside them and always drag them from gambling and ask them to do other things. Well counseling an addicted Gambler who has stay away from his friends an relatives plus loved ones can be quite challenging, you might be placed on an ignore list as others who tried to council him or he might find it offensive and pick a fight with you since all advice at that point in time is like a poison to his system. Wondering if there's really someone who made gamble as their daily job, Because let’s be honest, doing that usually ends with someone going broke rather than getting rich. Before someone becomes a gambling addict, that person have experience so many loses in gambling, and what is ringing at the person's mind is how he will get one or two megs wining in gambling, and the more having such in mind the more the person is going deep in gambling addict, so to stop someone not be addicted is when you know very well what means you gives gambling much attention, if the person find one or two things doing I believe that person attention will be divided and it will not concentrate that much in gambling, and when someone is jobless the person may use gambling as source of income

This is bad. Actually if youre gambling and staying or retaining the lifestyle you or your loveone had then you better stop.
