I don't believe it is overconfidence or superstition that causes people to lose money.  I believe it is an addiction to the idea that they could hit a life changing jackpot.  I don't even believe that the gamblers themselves think they're going to hit a jackpot.  It's just the idea that carriers them.  As long as they can afford it and aren't delusional, I don't see any problem with it.  Sometimes all people need to be happy is a dream, even if they themselves know it will never happen.

In this type of situation, I don't see the casino as a trap for gamblers unless it involves something related to fund withdrawal. Every feature you see when playing the game is something set by the game providers, not the casino.

I've analyzed and tried it, but ultimately, it's illusion and desire that defeat us.
So, what I did at that time was set a target. For example, with a capital of 100, a daily target of 50. So, when I win 150, I'll take 50 and use the 100 as capital for tomorrow. Illusion control doesn't totally determine wins but it goes a long way to guide wins and losses if applied very well. As mentioned by Oluwa-btc, house hedge is what determines wins and losses, unless a game that requires skill to to be won. Although, I do not underrate the place of illusion control but at least it does not account more than 30% of wins or losses. If controlled very well it can account a bit higher but not up to 40%. The best thing is responsible gambling.

If I play with you a head or tails game with a loaded coin that gives me heads 60% of the time and tails for you 40% of the time, then after we play a few games, I will be winning. That's pretty much it.

Many of us are been controlled by the illusion that we are going to hit a jackpot as soon as possible without full awareness. To hit a jackpot making huge returns on gambling is very hard and we should not get decieved by that.
