You maybe right and be wrong you know. You never can tell but lightning network aren't the only ways people use to send small amounts of Bitcoin. We have people send Bitcoin through centralized exchanges using UID and emails. You can send as low as $1 worth of any coin to any person and some exchange like Binance offer as low as scent to any other users, since he didn't say the way medium use to pay for the meal, then you can't say he story is fabricated.

Let's say the mean OP had was even between two dollars, he can send that amount to anyone as long as the momey is not below a minimum of dust value. Right now, a transaction that can be consider dust shouldn't be less than 0.00000546 btc and with the current price of Bitcoin trading at $112k, that's equivalent to $0.6, even if his meals is worth $0.7 dollar, he can send that amount to anyone but the restaurant must be willing to accept, if they accept then this is very possible.

I wish I could do that but it is illegal to pay with btc (or any crypto for that matter) in Turkey. For some reason the government banned crypto payments in Turkey and because of that no legit business can accept crypto officially. They can accept unofficially but then you are not protected by law if you get in trouble with the business. It is kind of funny. They didn't outright ban bitcoin. They let us trade but it is against the law if we buy something with it. That means our government think btc is just another commodity which people want to trade on the exchanges. p2p trades still work too. We don't need the government's permission for that but I wish I could use btc the same way I use my credit cards.

In today's scenario using crypto or btc as payment method, there are other alternative routes that you can opt to to pay cheaper fees. Because if the merchant has their exchange account or other third party crypto platform, you can always send it to them with lesser fees. However, it is still a challenge to find a merchant who is very knowledgeable in handling crypto services.

I don't think this is a made up story either but we are not in the early stages anymore. Bitcoin has become quite popular, and there are many stores and businesses that accept bitcoin globally. Paying with bitcoin is not something new or rare, and if we want to experience it, it is not too difficult as long as there is an agreement between the two parties. So I think when OP says it gives him an indescribable feeling of happiness, it seems a bit exaggerated.

I don't think anyone would be so happy and excited that they would lose sleep just because they get paid in bitcoin when what we want most is for its price to increase and bring us huge profits.

I prefer paying for anything with fiat currency over paying with Bitcoin.
I think Bitcoin is the best asset and it's much better to use it solely for investment rather than buying goods or paying for food with it.
Furthermore, in my country paying for anything using crypto is prohibited, so almost no one currently uses crypto for buying and selling transactions.
Realistically, I also see the opportunity to buy something with Bitcoin as less appropriate because if it happens when the price is falling, it will actually cause us a loss, and it's a shame to use an asset with such fundamental value just to pay for food.

The same way we have phobia for things is the same way people gave feelings for things you don't expect. Maybe that was his first time, it's normal for people to be nervous if they have not done something before in their lifetime. You have to also understand that the way humans think is different.

Wanderer where I live there is a law that if the seller and the buyer have agreed that the goods or services will be paid for in a way convenient for them, even if it is cryptocurrency, it will be absolutely legal in the eyes of the state.

Also, set a plan ahead of your business for the profit you get from your business, save it, and also invest it to make the business larger. Most countries that accept bitcoin and make it legal tender mostly know the benefit of bitcoin in terms of network and fast transactions and even make profit if it is kept for a short or long period of time.
If bitcoin can continue circulating more and be introduced to most businesspeople to make bitcoin their mode of payment, people should pay through bitcoin; it will make it grow, and the result will be that, within a short period of time, people will see the difference between mobile banking and bitcoin. It just so happens that in my own country Bitcoin is prohibited in any form of payment, but rather as a commodity asset or investment. Even though I can't feel the sensation of making payments with bitcoin, I think it's the same feeling as using other payment applications such as mbanking or other applications.

We have to remember what our goal is in having bitcoin, yes of course many of us will say it is an investment for the future. If I were in your position, I wouldn't use my investment assets for any payments, as long as I still had fiat money. My long-term investment goals are far more important and valuable than paying for food with Bitcoin.

I don't think have paid for anything using bitcoin because would prefer to spend fiat because we all know how valuable bitcoin is, I see see it more of an asset than a currency because people would rather spend there money than gold so i feel they are both on the same because they hold almost the same value so there is no way that am spending it and even without people spending it, the kind of value that bitcoin holds does not mean that the future of bitcoin is getting better for sure imagine even countries are putting into consideration. to invest in it so gradually, bitcoin is even gaining more grounds and people who are spending it feel they have more than enough, and since it's there bitcoin they can decide to do what ever they want with it.

I dont mind spending some of my bitcoins here and there.  Its a good thing you dont.  But that comparison you are making between Bitcoin and gold is wrong.  Yes, they are both seen as valuable assets and store of value, but this is about as far as the comparison goes.  For Bitcoin to be a virtual currency is the entire point.  But you are not alone in thinking this way.  The truth is, people see it as an asset because it acts like one. Its value fluctuates wildly, which makes it a terrible currency for buying a cup of coffee.  No one wants to spend 0.0001 BTC on something that could be worth a thousand dollars in a few years.  However, if no one wants to sell their Bitcoin, who do we buy it from?  Can it still be a valuable asset without a market?
