However, in many cases, when the price of Bitcoin drops, they are affected by FUD and sell at a loss.

Every Bitcoin investors have their definition of long term and from my observation on some threads in this forum it should be between 8 to 10 years or more. Bitcoin circles are more or less 4 years apart so holding for more than two circles is ideal. But since we know that Bitcoin is a store of value that continues to give profit on the longer time I can say that the longer you hold it the more profit you will get. If you are not in a hurry to take profit just continue to hodl it until you it is very necessary to sell but if you need money for important project and you cannot raise it from somewhere else you should be justified to sell.

I disagree with you that bitcoin long-term investment guarantees profit and that bitcoin investment is risk free because every investment out there has their own risk attached to it and bitcoin investment is not an exceptional. This is the reason why you are advised to invest with the amount of money that you can afford to lose and make it a long term investment, because long term reduces the risks of bitcoin volatility since the price increases overtime. As investment plans, risks and affordability of investment funds may differ per individual investors, so also duration that should be commended as long term plans may varies. I consider anything with a term of one year or more to be long-term, and anything with a term of less than one year to be medium-term. I think the choice of term will depend on the asset, for riskier assets, I'll use only medium-term terms, while for more reliable ones (like Bitcoin), I'll use long-term terms. Whether that's a year, two years, or more will depend on the market, as the asset can be bought at different times in the cycle, and that will determine when I'll sell it.

If I express my personal opinion more about this, then then I will say that if anyone want to invest on Bitcoin for long term and wanted to secure profit from that investment, then they have to investment for at least eight years.  I am telling this because of we know  average Bitcoin halving cycle is around 4years, and that's why we will also see that bull season happens every 4years. While this plan of holding BTC forever (meaning as long as possible), is a good idea for anyone who is newbie or very new to the crypto world.

However anyone who have seen one or more bull cycle knows that bitcoin tends to correct 80 to 90% after every cycle peak. So isn't it would be better even if anyone sells when the Bitcoin is near it's cycle top and buy when it's at cycle low. If I express my personal opinion more about this, then then I will say that if anyone want to invest on Bitcoin for long term and wanted to secure profit from that investment, then they have to investment for at least eight years.  I am telling this because of we know  average Bitcoin halving cycle is around 4years, and that's why we will also see that bull season happens every 4years. And I think if someone invests in Bitcoin during this bull season and holds it for eight years, they will at least make a fourfold profit.

If we look at it starting from the year 2025, I think from this time on, if someone begins a long-term investment now, then after 8–9 years it will be the right time to sell the bitcoin we’ve managed to save or accumulate through DCA.

Because in this scenario, the bull run could possibly end by next year, 2026, which means that year will mark the start of the bear season. Counting another 4 years,
the next bull run could come around 2028 to 2029. Assuming it happens in 2029, then before the following bear season arrives, it would fall between 2033–2034 in my opinion.
