I believe the point the Esteem is rather subjective and it is not exclusively applied to gambling as a way to get material value... They are people who are addicted to working or neglect their health through excessive work because they have an problem with money and wealth accumulation, they try to work on their low self-esteem through seeing their bank account going up and also partaking on excessive saving.

No wonder there are people with low self-esteem partaking on gambling because they view it as the only way for them to become winners, by hitting a jackpot.

The four Es make a great story here. Honestly they all seem pretty self explanatory and you got them down pretty much, I would probably also add in Ego because some gamblers let their ego get in the way and shoot for the moon but a lot of times their ego gets the best of them.

I most confess that the four mentioned ES is actually the cause of many losses and gambling addiction. More especially the number four because when you are over excited about your winnings you might not know when losses would start by then stopping becomes a very big problem for you, and that is how addiction would start coming gradually. I get it, "the big 1 A" is addiction and I tend to agree on that but I think it's still on someone else's shoes if he will fight on it or try to moderate his habit. There are too many things to make your addiction worth it but for me gambling is should be having one E and that's excitement. I'm competitive when it comes to it but I know my limits especially if money is at stake, I definitely moderate it.

Escape in other word Quit is almost impossible for a consistent gambler, what needs to be done is to excape from excessivity and play moderately. How hard is it to do that? Most players can't, even with an empty bankroll, would insist on going further, due to a single mistake of hoping to win big afterwards. The knowledge alone will not suffice, once someone is addicted. Once someone develops a gambling problem, it's really impossible to get them on the right track just by words or wisdom. The only solution that works is visiting a psychiatrist or one of those centres where they make you stay for weeks/months and ensure you can't gamble. The process is actually very painful and I know all this because I have seen a really close friend of mine going through the entire cycle and somehow coming out good.

The biggest problem with gambling addiction is that people treat this is as just another addiction and never take it seriously enough to seek a solution. The first step is to accept that you have an addiction and there is no shame in admitting and working towards it.

You can be profitable for a while ans when you continue gambling, that is when you will find out that the system is not built to make you profitable in a long term interval.
