Off topic: who else keeps reading his username as "bicurious?" xD

This came up in another thread...perhaps in the context of Rassah's coffee table and furries.

I found WTHAI 4. However, pulling back as required by the rules, changes Google images' tileset, so this does not show clearly that what I found is what the picture is.
Instead, I'll provide a link to the location. Anyone can verify easily that this is the exact same location (check the clouds). I trust this will be enough proof:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=chad&hl=de&ll=9.306116,17.987709&spn=0.082499,0.169086&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=33.901528,86.572266&vpsrc=6&hnear=Tschad&t=h&z=13

It's in Chad, on the border of a national park (which explains the farming on one side of the road, and the green grass on the other).

How much is it worth at the moment? Anyway, any address in my sig will do Smiley

Cheers!

Hmmyes, this was an ill-advised choice on my part. Oh well, this is the internet anyway, so I can tell you about my smoking hot girlfriend, or you can believe I'm bicurious, but we won't be able to prove it anyway Smiley

WTHAI 1: Sri Lanka
WTHAI 2: Malaysia  Close!
WTHAI 3: Brazil  No
WTHAI 4: Nigeria  Ùú
WTHAI 5: China 没有
I'm gonna assume this all means "No", except for the Malaysia one.

I tried Google maps but even small islands are huge, so I'll just verify my guesses first.

WTHAI 1: Gotland, the largest island in the Baltic sea.  NO
WTHAI 2: Indonesia                                                Yes
WTHAI 3: Peru                                                       Yes
WTHAI 4: Chad                                                      Yes
WTHAI 5: India                                                       Maybe
WTHAI 6: Germany                                                  No
WTHAI 1: Hmm, I spent a reasonable amount of time searching, but don't see it. I'm now no longer convinced it's on Bomholm, the other island in the Baltic sea.
WTHAI 2: On the "mainland" of Indonesia, the largest island.
WTHAI 3: Holy crap! All of Peru looks like your picture! I guess it's in the North, in one of the parks.
WTHAI 5: "Maybe" What does that mean? In any case, all of India is apparently made out of old river delta >_< I'm guessing it's near the sea.
WTHAI 6: Ukraine

This thread has been closed due to the lack of interest!  Grin Grin Grin

Give me a few minutes to work out what's owed, and will post the results as well. Winners feel free to PM me an address as to where you'll like your coins sent.

WTHAI? 7 will soon be published as well.

We have our very first winners: BTCurious & SgtSpike (WTHAI? 4 & WTHAI? 1, respectively).

Payouts based on the using of the time stamps of the image's first posting and when the winners first published their findings:

WTHAI? 4: First posted on December 27, 2011, 06:51:45 PM and found Today at 02:00:04 PM. Pays 2.5 BTC, since found before 06:51:45 PM (today).
WTHAI? 1: First posted on December 24, 2011, 07:07:26 PM and found Today at 03:32:03 PM. Pays .3125 BTC, since found before 07:07:26 PM (today).

I've opt to pay out 3 BTC to BTCurious and 1 BTC to SgtSpike, as a special thanks for playing and being the first two winners.

Future payouts will be as follows:

  • 20 BTC if found within the first hour.
  • 10 BTC if found within the next 23 hours.
  • 5 BTC if found before the end of the second day using time stamps (same applies below).
  • 3 BTC if found before the end of the third day.
  • 1.5 BTC if found before the end of the forth day.
  • 1 BTC if found before the end of the fifth day.
  • .5 BTC if found before the end of the sixth day.
  • .1 BTC if found before the end of the seventh day up to 30 days later.

As one can clearly see, this new payout schedule is better than what was originally proposed.

Let the fun continue!

It was a joke, Spike. Looking up your address now. Thanks again for playing.

~Bruno~

EDIT: Both payments have now been sent out. I'm sure if that were not the case, you would soon hear from the whiners winners. Also per the rules that I've self-imposed, I owe a 4 BTC donation to Bitcoin100 as a result of these two correct answers. I have yet to honor that commitment, but will post on this thread and the main Bitcoin100 thread when I do such.

I was totally going to search some more for this, and interpret your hints, but with the rally just now I don't have any time anymore before going to a new year's party. So, happy new year, and I'll be back next year Smiley

Anyone interested in somehow making a bot to find these?  Think of Phin's payouts as a bounty for making a useful service Wink

I think 6 is near Vilnius (because of the clue and the appearance of the woods around Vilnius). I just think I really suck at this game, I really can't find any of these Cheesy

And with respect to the number 3 hint. Pan flutes are really popular in Peru. I checked out some of the find places of Peruvian pan flutes (temples) but it looks really different. Google loads really slowly in Peru as well and the colorings are quite inconsistent as well. No clue.
