I have been in this forum for 1 year plus and sometimes I still get confused on which topic is meant for main board and the politics and society sub board.
I have seen post that is about cryptocurrency when it concerns Nigeria and is been pushed to politics and society sub board especially when is a news about the Nigeria government saying something about cryptocurrency how they will do this or that and threads like this are being pushed to politics and society sub board.
Now from what I understand when is about cryptocurrency it is supposed to be posted in the main board but when it concerns our government saying something about cryptocurrency regulations is been pushed to the politics and society sub board my question is that, are will not even supposed to focus our cryptocurrency discussion to our nation and then leaving it in our main board.

Moderator Sir Igebotz I think you are in a good position to clear people on this because I know you are already stressed out moving topics always, I think you should even make a thread where it is well explained and pin it so even newbies coming can see it.

Another confusion here is that people only like to single out the politics in the politics and Society section. When trying to make you analysis on if a post should be or not be in the politics and society section you should also consider if the post is more about societal issues.
And again it would have been best you bring up some of this topics you have seen and I am sure you will get concrete explanations.

You mentioned people should consider if the crypto thread they created is more about societal issues and I want to ask is cryptocurrency not related to society without the society can cryptocurrencies exit.
What makes cryptocurrency what it is today is the society some even call it the crypto society, if the government ban crypto and takes the ban very serious do you think it will be easy for people so even the government plays a big role in our crypto society and so topics related to that should remain on the main board when we see political related government comments about cryptocurrency is usually very clear.

From what I have even observed any discussion relating to Nigeria and cryptocurrency is always pushed to politics and society sub board.

Many of the post you selected to me are supposed to be on the main board, since they aren't fully related to politics. I think the mod igebotz should have a good reason for moving them to the politics and society board. He understand some of these criterias best and I wish he addresses this himself. The Naija local board is meant to discuss things related to cryptocurrency in our country, so such discussions should be allowed on the main board. Things we should expect to be moved to the politics boards are those concerning Nigerian governments or our local community directly and not crypto.

We usually have a lot of post on the lb and many created by newbies who may not yet be conversant with the topics locations. Those might be easily reported to the mod so he move them to the appropriate boards..

Ignore the titles and read the contents and you'll realized why they're moved to the P&S sub-board.

If the content of your post is entirely based crypto currency there is no way the moderator will move it to the politics and society naija board. Most times people creates post that is mainly for politics (Nigeria and the people, economy and other things that are related to politics) and at the end of it, the title of the discussion will be different from the thread what is why you see political discussion with a crypto related topic.
People often do that in the local board and the entire forum which is why each board have moderators.
Although some of those threads you have listed earlier are not totally based on politics, but you know we are humans and we can not be perfect.

Any cryptocurrency post that involves Nigeria government saying they will do this or that should be posted in politics and society sub board because since it involves Nigeria government it is all politics, and politics and society sub board is the best place to discuss such posts. Igebotz has been in this forum for a long time before we even joined this forum, and i believe he knows what he's doing. If you see Igebotz move any post from the main board to politics and society, just should know that politics and society is the right place for the post to be posted.

I believe that the moderators are always very critical and analytical when making decisions about which topic should be moved to politics and society or the off-topic section. Initially when this topic ROLE OF INFLUENCERS ON CRYPTOCURRENCY  and Balancing financial securities and bitcoin investment was moved to politics and society I wondered why for some days. But later I began to understand that even though it was not political, the topic tends to be centered more on the Society through Media. So to a very large extent I think the moderator's judgement has been fair enough when it comes to moving these many threads coming in every day.

The truth is that the moderator cannot do the moderating job alone, it is the responsibility of local board members to make collective efforts towards the growth of the local board so if you see any post that is being moved to the politics and society section while it is supposed to be on the main board, you can either pm the moderator and explain to him on why the post is suitable in the main board or you can still use the ''report to moderator'' because sometimes he may see a post that its contents relates more to politics and society but the actual context might be valid enough to be on the main board. Though i don't care much about a topic being moved to the politics and society except it is moved to the off topics, that is where i will have a contention.

No body is an island of knowledge, i believe your post have been moved before since you joined the forum and the reasons why moderators are employed is to arrange posts to the boards or sections that it fits best so there is no way we can know where a post belongs all the time.

Igebotz has been in this forum for a long time before we even joined this forum, and i believe he knows what he's doing. If you see Igebotz move any post from the main board to politics and society, just should know that politics and society is the right place for the post to be posted.

He(OP) isn't saying that moving the by topics moderator Igebotz to P&S sub board is a wrong thing or that he is making a mistake. If you understand him properly, what he is saying is that moving the post severally is becoming a big stress to the moderator, and that's he should maybe create a thread to explain where topics should actually belong and pinned for clarity so that newbies coming to the forum would not make more mistakes in posting in the wrong place to save him(moderator) the stress of moving topics regularly. 

However, BIT-BENDER had explained already that it all depends on how the post was made, meaning it largely depends on the content of the post. Because the title of some topics may not contain anything relating to politics, or society, but the contents maybe all politics and societal issues. Just like Igebotz pointed out earlier about the topics the OP shared the links, that he should forget the title and read the contents, meaning that the reasons such topics where moved was because it's contents was more of polics or societal issues.

I just think we should be more thoughtful and specific in selecting the right board to place a topic as the real content of the topics shows where the topic should be. Your topic and it's content should or must reflect the board you are posting it.

OP basically you are trying to understand when your post goes to the Politics and Society section. When your post contains any statement that implies politics. For example if you say in the post whether it is possible to change the government and morality of our country through cryptocurrency, then maybe it will go towards politics. To be more precise, if you go to an eye doctor and show your stomach problem, will it be logical? Basically, the doctor should be the one to show you the subject. If you mention something political, then that post will go to the Politics and Society board. After seeing the post, the moderator places the post in the board for which he thinks it is logical. And he takes such steps because he is aware.

@SuperBitMan, i think that that the moderator has answered your question. For the fact that cryptocurrency is mentioned in a topic does not qualify such post to be on the main board. Perhaps if you read the contents thoroughly you may discover that the OP is talking something differently from the topic. I have come across many topics where the contents did not correlate with the title of the post so in such post, the moderator can move it to the politics and society.

IMO, I believe that the moderators always have a reason for what they do, and when it comes to the links of post you provided, they are more of societal matters, despite the term cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin is used there. It is more like talking about a technology that is already existing with people who knows about it and introducing same technology to people who are hearing it for the first time.

Just like on the general board, where some topics posted on economics board are being moved to politics and society, that's also what happens here, when you read a thread that is not completely related to crypto discussion alone but also fits in to the discussion about society sentiment, then the mod will move it. Sometimes too, members could report a thread for moderator to move it and if the report is accurate, it will be moved.

I believe every post has where it belongs, as the local board is being segmented, we have the politics and society and the off topics, and from all i know topics concerning cryptocurrency regulation in Nigeria and political news in Nigeria are posted to the politics and society section, while matters that are not related to politics and society are being posted to off topic section.
Furthermore, I think there has to be more clarification on this, especially to the newbies.

At first I been dey think say our moderate no suppose dey move those kind topics go politics and society since eh dey crypto related but I later come realize say our government no really serious about Cryptocurrency, them just dey use am play politics to get the mind of the citizens so relating Cryptocurrency with the Nigerian government no dey relevant and eh no even dey educative so I like as them dey move those kind topics to politics and society.

I think you guys have been around here for closely two years if I am not mistakenly, you guys have been involving in several discussions both on the English board and the Local board, you have been seeing the types of posts that belongs to the politics and society, you have also been seeing the type of post we do have at the bitcon discussion section, we have also seen the type of post at the speculation, trading, scam, reputation and the rest so while making post our post should tells us where exactly we should post it.

It is something very clear. The context of the thread or topic will determine the section the post belongs to, even if the post contain crypto related information but tethered to government and politics especially when looking for opinions on how to go about it politically, it will be cannel to the politics and society section where people that talk more about politics and have crypto knowledge can tip in with their respective opinions.

If a topic is consisting of regulation been offered already by the government, or any important update relating cryptocurrency that is new to the general public and is important to share will remain in the main board as far as it is not spam or misinformation to the general public that will mislead the board.
