You don't even know how to spell Theymos. You have every right to have an opinion, nobody denies that, but sometimes it's best to keep it to yourself. Just because there are other members who are also worthy of becoming a merit source, doesn't mean that Apogio or whoever else it is isn't worthy either. I don't understand where this comment is coming from.

I didn't have idea you weren't a merits source due to how regularly you do send out Merits, although I haven't received merits from you but I am happy to see that you have taken the bold steps to help the community. Well, I just pray that theymos should consider this thing as when last he made people source it was massive to seal off noises about merits in the community and across local board and since then things has remained normal.

Yep, I think it ranges from about 10 to 1000. It's been months since I managed to empty mine.

There is a range, though I don't know what it is--a mod told me a while back that I'd already getting one of the largest allotments of sMerits per month after I created a thread way, waaay back in 2019 petitioning Theymos to give me more.

And now, six-ish years later I'm having a hard time keeping myself motivated enough to even come close to running out of my monthly source sMerits, not to mention the ones I've earned, which haven't been used in I don't know how long.  Maybe it's just that I've been a merit source for so long, or maybe it's my fear that AI has infested this place like Legionnaire's disease and have become far more reluctant to giver merits to members who write *apparently* skillfully in English, but I've slowed down a lot as a source.  It's been gradual but very noticeable.

All of that is to say that I think we need some new blood in the merit source pool, and I do hope Theymos has it in his head to create some more.  You've been here long enough to know what a good post is, apogio.  I don't think any applicant needs to have been a member for years and years in order for Theymos to consider an application by them worth looking at.  Good luck!

Theymos increased the monthly source merit allocation of some merit sources back in June and I think he also accepted some new applicants while he was at it. I don't think he will make new changes soon. You still deserve to be included in that group if you want to, and the more merit sources there are on Bitcointalk, the better it is for everyone. Hopefully it works out for you.

What led to complaint about low circulation of merit before the recently approved was as a result of too many inactive merit sources but after Theymos trimmed the numbers from 109 to 88 when he removed the inactive sources and added new users whose applications was pending initially, it now made the forum's distribution of merits become more visible, hence the reason why there is no longer complaints about merits. With the approval of new sources, i don't think that we will experience any complaint in the near future.

@apogio, i initially thought that anyone who is a member of the Foxup's merit cycling club is a merit source but i never knew you ain't a merit source. However, i applaud your growth in the forum to have achieved a legendary rank just in an interval of 2+ years, it shows you are a quality poster and looking at your merit history, you spend your smerits on quality posts which means that if you are given the privilege of a merit source you gonna do better. I also saw that you created a thread where you are giving donations to quality posters, that's kind of you and also a way to encourage quality posting. I support your application.

apogio you are a well known and recorgnised member of this forum for long even before I registerd on this forum, I even though you are already a merit source before I bumped into this thread, from my own observation you are qualified to be a merit source. The issue there is theymos need active merit source that can do there job properly because many was removed because if their inactivenes but I hope you will do better. Merit source is a bit difficult work though but I believe there is no harm in trying. I support and wish you good luck in your merit source application.

I do not think merit source will be a difficult work if you are very active on this forum, you will see good posts in a way that you may not know when you used up the smerits. But merit source can be difficult for those that are no more visiting this forum. With the way Apogio is visiting this forum and how he is giving people merits, I do not think it will be difficult for him, that is the reason he applied for it. Good posts are not hard to see on this forum. Apogio is highly overdue of becoming a merit source, he should be a merit source.

Being a merit source is totally different from scrolling from board to board looking on how to engage in a conversation, because you may have to dedicate a separate times to read post across different board if you can see valuable post to merit, but that's by the way.

As for the merit source application of Apogio, all I can do is wishing him the best because he has earned my respect and almost all forum members during his stay here, so I believe that he will do a good job if his request is granted by theymos.
Just as samlucky  has already said, I initially thought that he was a merit source already when I first came across his profile when I was still a member then, because his criteria fit's those that should be made one, I just hope his request is granted, good luck sir Apogio.

You have my full support @apogio especially for a person who is so active in the Bitcoin Discussion, Bitcoin Technical Support and Development and Technical Discussion boards with valuable input in the discussions. Those boards need more people like you, and better still if they are Merit source. I know it's just a matter of time, but Theymos will definitely make you a merits source sometime to come.

There are only a few forum members who post in this forum without wearing signatures, even though they have the opportunity. I know you may get a large amount from the avatar campaign, yet I believe you prefer quality over quantity. The posts you quoted in the OP show you like quality posts, and you know which posts deserve merit. I've had the opportunity and the luck to be selected by great campaign managers like @Hhampuz and @icopress.
The reason I'm not wearing a signature right now, is because of some taxation stuff I need to sort out.
I'm not against signatures and I definitely need money, especially when we're talking about hard money like bitcoin.
This is strange though, because I'm also not in favour of signatures as well
Like everything, signatures have both positive and negative impact on the forum.
I became a member when signatures were already a thing, so I don't know how things used to be before the signatures.
To conclude, if a user loves bitcoin and loves the forum, signature can be irrelevant, or better say that it can only act as a bonus

When looking at your avatar Foxup's merit circling club, I initially thought that anyone that puts on such avatar is a merit source already, but am wrong, I still have a lot to learn here.
Good luck on your merit source aspirations, I just hope that theymos gives you a chance to prove yourself as someone worthy to be a merit source.
