The easiest rout to becoming an addicted gambler is when you do it almost everyday and can not leave comfortably without thinking about it. daily gambling is a wrong gambling approach but assuming that a gambling can just do it once or twice a year raises the question, when will the gambling take as the convenient time to gamble and what is the certainty that at other times, the urge to gamble will not come?

The most important thing here is ones ability to be able to control oneself. Even if ones is gambling once or twice in a year this may not stop gambling addiction because most people despite the fact that they don't gamble or the time doesn't mean there mind is far removed from gambling. Of course there are. There are people who essentially never gamble, but would visit a casino during a yearly vacation just for the fun of it. That is a very healthy way to approach gambling if you have to do it at all.

If you place bets every day, your brain might get too used to it even if it is just a small amount but betting less frequently but with bigger amounts of money may lead you to be emotionally attached to that money and may feel extremely happy to win and extremely disappointed to lose.

I trust myself that if I bet that big money twice and lose it, I am never trying that again, I will completely give up since I am very sensitive when it comes to money matters, I know how hard I hustle to make money and I am always happy when I have to lose it on a twinkle of an eye.

So, obviously, betting small amount of money every day will lead to gambling addiction much faster than any of us might even think, and the worst part will be that when this gambler does become an addict, he will no longer be betting the same small small amount but will increase it.
But as for me, If I have to bet small amount of money every day on sports games or slot/casinos games, I will make sure to do it in a way it never becomes part of me to totally avoid getting addicted.

Using frequency as a measure for addiction is not out of place but the missing link would be in the fact that sometimes the addicted gambler may not be gambling frequently because they may be low on cash so they just wait till they have so much  because their style has to be such that they gamble with huge amounts and not just small amounts so they may not be too frequent but the moment they have some funds, they are gambling and so they only appear like they ar not addicted due to their low frequency but in the actual sense they are just that they have it covered up.

My friend is like that. He's in a disadvantaged situation because he doesn't have a job that provides a steady income, but he forces himself to continue gambling every day. Even though the amount of money he deposits in one gambling session is small, he can make one to five deposits a day. This is enough to prove he's addicted to gambling. But with people who gamble regularly, from various perspectives, such as funding or time, I think they gamble with discipline because they can do it reasonably.
