Every gambler should gamble with the expectation of getting entertainment. The movement to gamble for income increases their expectation of winning, so the expectation of additional winning makes them addicted.

I agree, gambling should be solely for entertainment purposes, not for profit. I often meet people who gamble with the intention of making money, which is wrong, very wrong. They should treat gambling like any other form of entertainment, just coming to have fun, perhaps because they are tired from work or facing problems that cause them stress. However, as time goes on, people's mindset changes, greed takes over, and ultimately it destroys them. Today, addiction is almost seen as a normal part of gambling. One crucial thing to do is always use money you can afford to lose or gamble within a budget you've set for yourself.

To be honest, everyone has the expectation of winning, everyone loves to win, but accepting this defeat when they lose is self-control and responsibility. The only difference is in control, everyone loses, but responsible gamblers stop after losing, they know how to handle their emotions and have the mental strength to accept defeat, and uncontrolled gamblers become more emotional when they lose and gamble more, that's the difference. So the main thing here is to control yourself, not emotions think with reality, then there will be no big loss here.

Yes that is the reality about gambling. Once a person starts to see it as money making tool like fast money maker instead of entertainment then problems start to arise from there. The excitement slowly turns into obsession and before they know it they chasing losses instead of enjoying the game. Setting a clear budget and sticking to it is key and  once the fun stops, that’s the signal to walk away.

Problems will arise if this gambling is done with the aim of seeking profit or pursuing victory, basically winning in gambling mostly depends on luck but most players tend to ignore this so they don't think that winning in gambling is something that is quite difficult to get, they think that winning will definitely be obtained easily, this makes them think that chasing victory even though they have lost repeatedly is not easy to make them realize.

Which can be more addicting between the two: placing small bets every day or gambling only once or twice a year but doing so with huge amounts of money?

If you place bets every day, your brain might get too used to it even if it is just a small amount but betting less frequently but with bigger amounts of money may lead you to be emotionally attached to that money and may feel extremely happy to win and extremely disappointed to lose.

So what do you think gets someone more addicted?
Both can lead to gambling addiction but in different frequencies, placing bets every day can cause someone to become addicted because they have the opportunity to continue placing bets and get further trapped in unhealthy thought patterns or high dreams. Gambling with large amounts of money once or twice a year can also lead to addiction because it produces a stronger adrenaline rush due to the potential for large prizes to be won. Addiction can happen to anyone, even though the betting amounts and playing methods vary. Gamblers will experience psychological pressure to win bets and may feel unable to stop after losing continuously.
I think those who have a habit of gambling a lot are more likely to become addicted to gambling, but the main point of discussion here is which one can be more harmful to gambling, one is regular gambling with a small amount of money and the other is gambling once or twice a year with a large amount of money. If the financial loss is considered, then I will always be against gambling once or twice a year with a large amount of money. Because if we use a large amount of money in one or two gambling games and if the results of two gambling games go against us, then all our money will be lost and after losing this big money, naturally our love will not work. Maybe if we gamble regularly with a small amount of money, there is a possibility of addiction, but the gambler himself is largely responsible for the addiction of a gambler. A gambler must control gambling, have confidence in himself and consider himself a responsible person, only then will he be able to control himself from gambling addiction.

So what do you think gets someone more addicted?
You already answered the question you asked in your second paragraph. Something done once on twice in a year hardly leads to addiction. Anyone who gambles that way will easily stay off addiction as their brain won't constantly focus on such activities that much like one who's exposed to such on a daily.

What if I say that both are addicting?
Even you place bets once or twice a year and that contains your life saving, that's still a lot of money.
And if the cumulative amounts of betting every day with small amount equals to the whole amount of gambling once or twice a year.
Addiction isn't about the amount of money spent, gambling. It's the uncontrollable repetition of indulgence in a particular act. Money or no money, once something takes our valuable time and we seem to lose control over it, that's addiction.

-Channelling all your problems on gambling : When you don't what to hustle all you strive for is quick cash, you have channel all your family problems on gambling that alone is an express path to gambling addiction because you will keep on gambling without knowing your limit or when calling it a day.

This situation is highly relevant in everyday life, and it all begins when something unexpected comes up, coupled with financial constraints that require immediate attention (pressure). This can be the beginning of all the problems. This is usually the case.

Starting with the remaining funds at that time, and even trying to ask for help financial assistance from those closest to us, but they are unable to help, the quick idea of gambling is born, assuming we can win and the problem will be resolved quickly, when in fact it isn't.

In reality, it's deficult to see someone that gamblers at most twice or thrice a year, if you even see such person, they wouldn't see themselves as gamblers in the first place. Regardless of the frequency of your gambling, what matters is how you effectively manage your bankroll. As much as possible, you have to ensure that the strategy you're using is safe and that your gambling lifestyle is not a mess you will spend a lifetime dealing with.

If you can stay discipline and gamble at most most a week with an amount you can afford to loose, I can bet that we will never talk about gambling addiction ever again. It is as a result of negligence and carelessness that leads to an unmonitored gambling which results to addiction.

According to the American Psychiatric Association, about 160 million Americans play internet-based games, many of which can enjoy their activities without problems. Others develop an internet-gaming disorder, which means online gaming activities become a priority over all other areas in your life.
Gaming can be different from gambling because I know that their are gamers that don't gamble. All they do is to share their livestream and people will be watching them play games that are adventure in nature. The gaming industry is so huge and it has more population than the gambling industry although we still have influencers that are both gamers and gambling altogether. Gaming is more addictive than gambling because playing games does not have any restrictions like not having money to gamble or to book games.

The early phase of gambling often feels electrifying especially for new players who are just discovering the thrill of winning that first big moment triggers a strong release of dopamine the brain?s natural reward chemical it?s the same process that makes people crave excitement in other activities but with gambling the rush is more unpredictable and that unpredictability is what keeps people hooked the mind starts associating the game not only with money but with pleasure and the promise of that pleasure becomes hard to resist.

Physiologically the brain begins to adapt once the dopamine surge becomes familiar it takes more stimulation to reach the same level of excitement that?s when gamblers start increasing bets or playing longer hours not always to win more but simply to feel the same high they felt in the beginning this is where the slippery slope of addiction begins it?s not just about wanting money anymore it?s about chasing a chemical reaction that feels rewarding but fades quickly. For new gamblers this pattern is especially dangerous because the balance between fun and control is fragile they often underestimate how quickly emotions can override logic the best protection comes from awareness understanding how the brain reacts helps in building discipline setting clear limits before starting and treating every session as entertainment not as a source of excitement or income.

It seems more thrilling because the dose of dopamine released is very high, then it starts to decrease because you become addicted, the dose of dopamine released is the same, it simply has less of an effect on you, that's all.
That's why i keep saying, if you don't get addicted to gambling you'll get it with alcohol or smoking or something else, it's a psychological predisposition

When you do something on a consistent basis, you will get too attached to it and it will start becoming a daily routine which might lead to addiction faster, but if you don't gamble that much but you always stake a huge amount of money anytime you wishes to gamble, the money you can't afford to lose, just know that you might not get addicted playing that way, but you will be in deep shit financially if you keep losing, which might ruin your finance if you are not careful enough.
So the second option is more dangerous than the first one if you ask of my own opinion because gambling with an amount you can not afford to lose is the fastest way to get wrecked financially.

If you think about it, this addiction pattern is systematically created, like someone who doesn't have their phone for a day, it feels a bit strange, and we can see the facts now. For most gamblers, the pattern is ingrained in their minds, believing that gambling is an opportunity, not just for entertainment, whether the stakes are small or large.

At first glance, it seems like it's born from repeated frequency, but addiction isn't necessarily rooted in that. Rather, as I said above, it's an opportunity and a quick way to make money in 5 minutes without having to work for hours or stare at a phone screen checking market prices when they trade in crypto.

Yeah, things can be different, but also they can have some similarities.

In addiction, you can see how gambling and gaming can become similar.

If you are not addicted, then yeah, there can be differences

It’s not always about how often you gamble but how emotionally attached you become to the idea of gambling itself. once the mind starts linking it to quick money or a sense of excitement it becomes a psychological loop. even if someone doesn’t gamble daily, the thought of turning one big bet into a life changing win can be just as addictive as playing small and frequent games. both lead to the same trap just in different ways. The scary thing is that the brain starts craving that rush of dopamine every time you gamble or even think about gambling. it becomes part of your daily thought pattern and that’s where the danger lies. when you gamble huge sums especially money you can’t afford to lose it’s not just your wallet at risk but your mental peace too. losing that kind of money hits harder and can cause panic frustration and impulsive behavior which eventually makes people chase losses even more recklessly.

The second option is more dangerous. when people stake large amounts hoping to win quickly they might avoid addiction for a while but when the loss comes it’s devastating enough to destroy savings and push them into desperation. the ones who gamble often with smaller stakes might lose time but the ones who bet big lose stability. It’s better to see gambling as pure entertainment something done for fun with strict limits. once it starts feeling like an opportunity or a shortcut to wealth that’s when it becomes dangerous because the line between control and chaos gets thinner every time you play.

Most gambling addicts say slots are the most exciting. This is because every few seconds, the gambler feels like a miracle could happen and a huge win could happen. Thus, after a gaming session, they pay with an emotional deficit known as a dopamine pit.
This is a negative state of emptiness and indifference. It is precisely because of this intense emotional experience that slots are the most dangerous form of gambling.

No matter how someone bets, there will be losses and winning  in gambling. But if someone gambles with money that is beyond his required amount, then he is less likely to suffer a lot of financial losses. However, it is true that if he bets with a large amount of money after many days then if he will face financial losses but the possibility of his addiction will be less. After that, even if he bets for many days ,he will not lose a lot of money... I personally think that a person should be responsible enough before gambling. He will bet as entertainment. A separate fund should be kept which will only be used for betting and even if he loses, he will not spend extra money to get back the previous money.

We all know this very well, yet every day there are still stories about people losing unbearable amounts of money and creating a mountain of problems for themselves and their loved ones. It would be great if various types of program assistants were introduced, or at least if there were an available feature in online games, that would periodically display a pop-up message on the screen to bring players back to reality. When playing, we often enter a slightly altered state and don’t always assess our situation rationally.

If they can even create a pop up that would remind some gamblers to bet or stake on what they can afford to lose then it would really go a long way for gamblers cause some get carried away by potential winning and stake heavy amount that would get them emotional when they lose, atleast it would help bring them back to the reality of the fact that gambling is a game of luck so you don't spend heavily on it since you could likely lose it all.

I watched stories of gamblers' wives who completely lost control, and their stories paint a clear picture of how complicated life can become simply because of such a seemingly harmless pastime.
At first, the gambler hides his hobby, but then he becomes generous, then angry, then borrows money, even from his wife's parents. These stories weren't difficult to listen to, but if you think about it, they're real tragedies that actually happened somewhere.
