Today,we have a lot of religious people than scientists yet science is where we go for solutions of health. Even the big pastors,imams, spiritualist and herbalist run to the doctors for treatment or check up and prescription of tablets, so is science superior to religion? The religious people pray every day every day,yet science is where they go for a doctor to diagnose them to know the name of the ailment or sickness.

I don't think highly religious people view it as one or the other.  They would probably say that science just explains religion in terms people can understand.  I personally think that both sides make good points.  For example, science has been proven to be wrong many times throughout history (the world was once thought to be flat), but there is also the argument that religion is nothing more than stories and that science books would be recreated if time started over, but religions could end up totally different.  Maybe some aliens will show up some day and tell us the truth about our history.  Until then, just do whatever makes you a better person.

Science and religion have their own good and bad side, there's no doubt that science has helped the world to become more developed and beautiful through the innovations and modern tech but it's also brought disaster like the creation of ballistic and nuclear weapons for wars and the even the Covid was a leaked lab experiment that affected the world cause of some careless researchers and still relates with science.

 As for religion, it has it's own benefits, like contributing to good morals, encourage positive mentality and so forth but lately religion has become a tool for discrimination and even conflicts, most of the conflicts in both past and present time was caused by disagreement of different religions, it's even made some people disregard science whereby they fail to get the right medications to their health issues hoping on their religious belief to make them feel better.

But we should have known by now that science and religion has their different functions or will I say theres length both can operate, let's just use the instance you gave, I know miraclea exist, God answers prayers too but there are things people do it will look as if they are trying to tempt God, scientist warned everyone about the COVID-19 when it surfaced, they told everyone what is likely to happen if people are not careful, they gave steps to contain it and vacines that help people to get immune to it, they acted as experts on that field and I believe God is not against science, even the wisdom scientist use to make this findings ia not ordinary, those are gift from good, so it is high time we get to know some of all this things.

Well, True Science is part of True Religion. There are many false knowledge and religions, however, the truth exists for those with the true light. They will see things as they truely are, and not rely on faulty observations and evidences of how things work due to being blind or living in darkness.

By the way, our CREATOR allowed this science in the old but was done by priests who were likely seen as physicians. The Priests were chosen because of the possibility of being able to see and understand things more clearly. It's recorded in the Scripture of the old (old testament) that Priests have to go to the homes of possible leprosy patients to obtain evidence of the disease through observations. Our CREATOR could've easily told the priests exactly what the disease was but HE allowed humans to do things themselves as we are limited in this existence, then, in a better existence, there will be extraordinary ways of doing things which will be considered miracle by this world.
The CREATOR only intervenes supernatural or miraculously when it is beyond human ability to handle, and the intervention is only possible to those who believe HE can do it. This is when one may realizes how primitive humans science truely are.


And you need to live in quiet places or atleast create quiet conditions for the mind to access the truth otherwise it becomes like a body of water that's unable to form clear images because it's disturbed by dead leaves dropping from trees. This is part of the reasons monks live in monasteries and are likely discovering things that are profound

None is superior to the other and don't think science had defeated religion in any way. Both do not belong in thesame category, they are two different important parts of the society which are held at high esteem. While science focus on providing solutions to our physical and health needs, religion focuses on spiritual growth  and guidance in life.

The major challenge most religious people are facing is their inability to balance these two, attributing greater importance to one at the wrong time. If people will know what place these two hold in their lives, they will not worry about which defeats the other.

Science has never defeated religion, dude. They often do different things, science explains how the body works, religion answers questions about meaning, ethics, communities. and throughout ages religious people have used doctors &  modern medicine alongside prayer.

There are also many medical systems where people mix the two. if you go Africa or Asian country traditional/religious healers are still widely used even though modern medicine is relied upon for diagnosis and treatment. Even most doctors hold religious beliefs, so in reality the world goes together, you can pray & still go to the hospital no problem.

In my opinion it is not a question of "which one will win" but rather how one works, there is no problem then.. Trust science for health decisions &  rely on faith for comfort, both can coexist without drama. lmao

I would not say that science has overtaken religion. I believe religion helps us to live a moral life, the commandments from the Bible is all about morality, also I don't think the Bible has ever condemned going to the doctor for treatment. I believe even in the time of the old they have physicians that treats ailments.  Scince is very good and also very important to the society,  it has helped explain things that we really don't understand,  it has helped treat ailments like you mentioned and many more things that science has made possible. I am not a religious person, but I believe in God and I am not also against science,  just that I disagree with some of their explanations of things, but I do appreciate science.

Both of them are not the same and shouldn't be compared because religion is a belief and science is done by research. God is the first scientist and he's the one that gives you little of his wisdom and knowledge that you use in carrying out your research. There is a lot of mystery that is beyond human understanding.

Everyone needs the doctor when they are ill because God works with physical materials when he is performing miracles and not like a magician who uses abracadabra. Real pastors and men of God don't fall sick, talk more of going to the hospital. Two of them are important in life.

Modern science, if it doesn't bow to God, has become religion. Why? Because an extremely large amount of science is unproven theory, and exists because of scientist consensus, which is simply a vague agreement that it must be this way.

Science is a religion, and scientists are its priests, and they want you to bow to them more than to any other religion.

You are getting it wrong my friend, don't you forget we are made up of both spirit soul and flesh.

You can't treat the spirit with science but rather the flesh, every religion speaks about the spirit and soul, religion teaching says your soul ascends, and not the flesh which decomposes after passing.

Science works for the flesh while religion controls the spirit and soul.

Before it is approved, the formula goes through rigorous test .if your formula does not have proof the science world will not approve of it. What you write is totally incorrect. A simple example is viruses.

Science accepts viruses. But there is no proof. There is only belief by most scientists and almost all non-science people.

Dr. Andrew Kaufman and Dr. Tom Cowan have shown it. What have they shown? They have shown two things:
1. That the things that are shown to be viruses have been 'cooked' into being from a mish-mash of stuff that isn't viruses at all;
2. That the method for finding viruses breaks down in the fact that none of them have been isolated... pure, real, for a fact isolated.

The idea that suggests that viruses exist is based on clever, circular talk, only. Yet science accepts that viruses are real. This is one of the ways that science turns itself into a false religion. People believe and have faith in a lie.

There are beliefs that they don't need the medications and they're in full prayer and I respect them on how I respect these religious leaders seeking help with medication from the scientists or doctors. IMHO, there's nothing if they're like that, what matters there is they're acknowledging the knowledge that the doctors and scientists and that's why they go there to seek help.

As the comment shortly above alludes to, it seems that science has only generated additional religion, such as the Singularitarian religion. There is also simulation theory now, which certainly would be a faith based religion as an accepted construct if someone based their life on that idea. Science and religion can be fully compatible with one other, its mostly militant atheism style that would say they cannot coexist well. It is only the attitude that some things should happen without any reason that would contradict the idea of science and religion being compatible concepts.

The most scientific concepts are based on axiomatic reasoning systems. Axioms of course are the scientific way of stating a faith. One axiom of reasoning is one faith-based foundation. Of course there are different definitions of both science and religion, but the most commonly used definitions are compatible.

Science can certainly show specific claims of a specific religion to be wrong, but how would that destroy the religion and not just change it to remove the inaccurate claim? Religions are a large collection of beliefs, so science would be hard pressed to eliminate even one religion.

I think religion is never going to be defeated by science, regardless how much time comes and goes.
Because religion and science are supposed to be to try to answer separate questions which have nothing to do with one another in modern world. If religion and science were competing directly, then science would have destroyed Islam and christianism and very long time ago, and it has not.

Thousands of years are going to past and yet there will be churches and priest for people to try to fill the void within their life.

To this day, there are phenomena which cannot be explained by science.
