The initiative is good but the support is shit. This has been open since the 23rd of September and not 1 of you could be bothered to even send $1, least that's what I see from the donation address.

The point im trying  to make is you have to help yourselves as a society. I see people making a post to help themselves, but that's it. Not here to make you guys feel bad but maybe you should a little.

No Yahoo62278 the support isn't shit, I have seen the thread as much times and haven't said anything unless now, that doesn't mean the outreach isn't getting my support, same may go to everyone.

Except i want it publicly, I can DM the OP privately without coming out to say my donation. I have been earning from signature for a year plus and if i can't be of help, then i gotta be the most ungrateful. I'm assuring you of a good turn up for the outreach, some weeks are still left before the movement, comeback to check yourself.

I saw that three contests were organized by Nigerians this year; it all started with the willingness to give and support one another. In case you dont know, we are one of the most supportive local boards in this forum. Maybe you think we are poor, and you are rich; I don't blame you, I blame our moderator for supporting your point. Giving can be done by anyone willing, the rich or the poor.

Suggestions were made for the FIAT contribution, and that is done internally through PM. With that being said, only OP can attest if no other person has reached out to support.

There is a common thing about typical Nigerians, which is doing things at a late hour. Trust people have the outreach in mind, but the ending date is still far. Before then, I believe there will be donations.

I felt bad, though, after noticing attention was not given to this thread. I may have just taken notice of it.

This was needless honestly, if you are okay to do it with your personal funds there would have been no need to create this thread. You could have equally done it codedly if you don't care about anyone's support. I hate when someone brings a good initiative and end up making some irrational statement.

If this topic was made with the Nigerian pidgin English and the one in the service board was created in plain English it would have been very cogent. @Charles-Tim was right after all. These are some of the flaws we are talking about in the local board.

I do not donate because it is not something that is general but it is pertaining to a town in a state where Rruchi man is living. I think it would be better done among his friends instead. If I want to do something like this, I will prefer to discuss it among people that know me very well than to open a thread for it. It is not an emergency that I desperately needs money for.

I remember when one of our brothers on this forum died, we donated and gave the person's wife the little amount of money that we can donate. I personally know the person although I have not seen him before but we have communicated several time and I know he was sick and the I know the sickness.

I think if something happens to one of us and the person is in need of help and it is confirmed by a reputable members, we are going to turn up.

Natural disaster like flooding or pandemic would have also been better, but not December charity. So what will be next? Easter Charity or 2026 charity donated to people in the single same town? And maybtit will be repeating.

There are people that are donating to charities very well in Nigeria and people can do it individually and they can go to VIPs in the town for the charity as well if they need more money for it. I have a friend that did this in 2018.

I will prefer to put people on this forum first and also consider it if it is an emergency.

@Rruchi man, please do not consider what I post, it is just my own opinion. You can have a good mind and help people in your community. But I just see it like what if other people are creating their own similar threads also, including me create mine.

I may be completely wrong, but that is the way I see it made people not to contribute.

Sorry, but we do not all speak Pidgin English always, just as you have made your contribution to this post in the English language, which is still accepted here.

@Charles was not wrong to point out a rule, but that should not have been done on the thread exactly; knowing that that would likely derail the purpose of the thread, he could have pointed that out to me in my DM. And as I stated as a reply to him, no donation has been made from this local board, which is not so good, so I had to expand my reach to get the attention of others who are interested in charity events. There was no intention to create two threads for it; it just had to happen because I was having more spams on this thread than contributions.

Your opinion is valid, but you know humanity is humanity in any location; you do not only have to be interested in charity events around you. Helping whenever and wherever you can is a good thing; what matters most is that it is to people in need. It is okay still if you will only be interested when it is charity to people in your location.

In this case, i don't see it as begging because it's just an initiative you brought to help the less privileged. If it was something that had to do with you alone and you are asking the community to help, it can be classified as begging. This is a very good initiative and charity is something I love to participate in when ever I see one that is organized by reputable persons I am sure won't divert the fund meant for the less privileged persons to their own private purse for their selfish desires, and charity like this can always be carried out privately without getting anyone involved but how far can the person go alone, how many less privileged persons can he or she be able to reach out to alone when the person is not a billionaire?

This is where collaboration comes in as a very important tool; like it's commonly said "if a person wants to go far, he or she should go with people but if you want to go fast, you go alone".

I commend the op for bringing up this initiative and for seeking collaboration with other forum members here, its a good move which I fully support even though i may not be able to contribute to the course currently due to some time-limited personal financial issues I am trying to sort myself out from at the moment, but I encourage every one of us with a good heart and love for humanity to support this course, it doesn't matter where or the location where the charity will be taking place, humanity is the same through out the universe - example, other countries come to Nigeria to help poor people, does that mean there are no poor people in their country? The answer is NO.

So yeah, OP is on the right course seeking our support, with our support, I believe he and his team will be able to reach out to more less privileged people than he (the op) can do alone.

Again about location wey @Charles Tim talk about, I know say no be only am get that mindset for this forum. We talk about am the first time you drop the thread and nothing much was said about at least taking the donations to at least 3 zones. I asked for him to add a USDT address (preferably exchanger) because of the pop up I received the first time I tried it before the post. It could be because I'm not used to BTC transactions or kinda. You didn't reply to that nor make comment about it of which I may not be the only one who has same misunderstanding (sorry for that OP).

I don't see the need for the last line too because I know many will still contribute to that effect. Even though we try to avoid spamming but sometimes opinions too help to correct errors. I strongly believe people will donate, everyone is only planning based on budget and timing. If a deadline was set from the beginning, it could have also influenced people's to-do list. The next two weeks can be actively used to receive donations while the last week can be used to get the items ready for the 13th(If he hadn't already acquired them which is also commendable).
