Have you thought of the fact that it's better to finish well than to start well? And the reason why Arsenal's is hurting now is that it's being long they lifted this cup and they were too close. But Man City regularly lifts it, aside from the last season when they took a break for Liverpool. The consistency has been there, so we can't compare. During the time Man City's performance was going down, it was as a result of injuries, and fine, Arsenal has more injuries now, but many times, they didn't have injuries as such, yet their performance would just drop. Even at that, I don't expect Arsenal not to be beating lesser clubs at this crucial time, which contributes to Man City closing the gap on them.
Yes, I do. And I think that's why Manchester City wins titles year after year. Like I said, they always start poorly. Haaland also goes cold in first half of season. Etc. Liverpool even won titles because of late surges. Under Klopp and Slot, they seem to do well near the end when they win, when they don't win, they did badly at the end.
I do think also though that clubs chasing trebles or quadruples always get tired near the end. This is what happened to Arsenal.
