Which Sport is Really the Most Profitable to Bet On?

Me, I usually stick to basketball - both local leagues and especially the NBA. That’s the sport I actually follow closely, and I feel more confident with my own analysis there. But lately, I’m starting to think maybe I should explore other options, and I’m curious what others here have experienced.

what do you honestly think is the most profitable to bet on?

The question is based on your experience. When you say all sports are profitable to bet on, do you mean you’ve actually tried betting on all sports and it was profitable for you? I just want to question that, because personally I’ve played different types of sports bets but I’ve never been profitable in any of them. And when I say profitable, I mean in the long term, not just short temporary wins that get erased by overall losses.

Yes, all sports are profitable, it's really depend on the bettors itself. We have sports that is world wide, like what the OP mentions, the NBA. So I also was a big fans of this sports and bet big on them. And then we have many leagues in football wherein it is also well known as we have several threads open about it. But if we attached numbers to it, we might say that Football is the biggest at around ~4 billions fans around the world.

So that could be the sports that many bettors could profit along the way and most likely profitable as any other sports. Second on that list if I'm not mistaken, is Cricket and then Basketball.

you see the text i boldened, that is just it. bet on only sports you feel more confident about and not just every and any sports that is popular. if you are good at basketball and actually finds it fun watching and analyzing it, it is better to stick to it. if football is your own and you are good at it, still stick to it and ensure your level of knowledge in the sports grows such that your rate of profitability increases also.

it is two things that is involved, it is either you are having fun through what you are betting on or you are earning from it. if those two things are missing out then we should be talking about the concept of gambling addiction.

Is stability possible in gambling when success depends on "chance" (that is, on something you have no control over)? If all the "parameters" align, you can win, but the problem is that these "parameters" can be numerous, and it's difficult to take them all into account. For example, a sudden injury to a forward followed by a substitution in a soccer match will inevitably impact the entire team's performance.

Of course, it's more profitable to stick to one sport, as this allows you to better assess the current "parameters" of events and make predictions based on them. If I don't understand basketball at all, why should I bet on it? Only if I rely entirely on luck and bet on a whim.

The most popular choice by most gamblers is soccer/football, and I know this for sure because I used to gamble in local lotto bookies and in there people always choose to play this sport. They choose it because like you they also felt confident about their analysis as they used to watch the games of the leagues they liked every weekend. So based on this I would say the best sport and most profitable to win some money is the sport you follow more. There is no golden rule that just because most people bet on soccer you should start trying it, as long as you are comfortable betting on basketball games and you follow this sport, this is the best choice for you to keep betting on.

I think the odds don’t really matter much if we’re talking about long-term profitability. Whether you’re betting on 1.10 or 2.50 odds, as long as you end up profitable, then any odds will do. The real problem is most of us sports bettors aren’t really focused on the long term, we don’t even set a bankroll designed to last long term. Most of the time we’re just betting for fun.

That’s why we can’t really say if we’re profitable or not, since we’re not even monitoring our results monthly or yearly.
Without that tracking, it’s all just guesswork.

I would say that horse acing games have the craziest odds of the entire gambling world.
However, as numbers says, most of these results are really rare and huge victory to be achieved.
Other options are with single game points in tennis and correct score in football... anyway "most profitable" are the odds that you can guess correctly here there is a list of the games with higher odds.

Just like you, I think that it's best to stick to the games that we know that are valuable to us and we have a background about it. And that's why going with basketball and boxing is what our country is all about. But lately, we've got a rising beautiful woman that's doing good in the world of tennis and that's why I think going with it is also going to have some good chance of knowing more about it. This is subjective and of course it will be in accordance with your habits and knowledge as a fan by certain body, for me personally is football even though overall it cannot be categorized as consistently, but wins more in soccer betting, this is also supported by frequency as much as you bet.

Say if you know thoroughly about the world badminton match, how to develop it every time and know thoroughly the candidate of the player, of course you will easily bet and win it because in terms of knowledge you have it, usually it implies that one of the players has different advantages so that it has a hunch or optimistic that you can win the match.

Basketball is the most profitable sports for me to bet on. I already tried betting on baseball, football and tennis but I have low winning percentage on the sport that I mentioned.

I have high winning percentage on Basketball both NBA and WNBA which I find fascinating since I’m not following anymore these sports for more than a year to have a thorough analysis but still keep winning by relying on stats available on their recent matches.

It is a subjective set of questions. For what is the most profitable to bet on?
I would say its the sport which you are winning on in the long term and that will
be different for everyone depending on their knowledge of the sport.

Personally I stick to sports I know, I cant see any benefit in betting on sports I
know nothing about and just betting on favourable odds.

Football also known as soccer is what I generally bet on. Though not often but it is my go to sports game for betting. There are many reasons for this. First, it is like the national sports in my country. Second, almost everyone that I know who gamble bet on football. Third, it is the most highly marketed sports games for gambling operators in my country. For the longest of time, I have always wanted to try out horse racing, a very unfamiliar sports in my region but I am yet to sit down and do my research on it despite having some conversations here with those who bet on horse racing.

I would go with football. First of all there are always great number of matches going on live or planned to happen. Its always possible to find a game to watch and to bet. Second reason is low score rate. Teams dont score much. Having 3 balls advantage is a rare thing for football. If one team is winning, and have with 2 balls advantage, its rare chance that second team would win. In other sport winner can become loser in to time and it happens more often that in football.

Personally I think it's football. Honestly, I'm not a football fan and I really doesn't have any knowledge in football teams because basketball is more popular in our country but on my experience in sports betting, there's really a lot of football matches and leagues compared to NBA and thus I started placing bet on it.

In my surprise I am winning more in football than on my familiar game (Basketball), I just usually look at the stats of the team, the current live match stats, previous matches and standing, and from that I can easily make a conclusion and managed to win a bet, well... usually a parlay.

It depends on your knowledge of the sport, because no matter what sport it is, if you don't have sufficient knowledge and just bet blindly, then in the end what happens is just empty speculation that is closer to gambling than analysis as people usually do in betting, and most likely you will just waste your money because you lose more often than you win. So if you are thinking of trying betting on sports other than basketball, it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the sport and find out more about the teams playing, so you can increase your chances of winning.

In my experience, sports betting and lottery are the most suitable for me to bet on because these types of bets have the greatest chance of winning compared to other types of bets.
Other types of bets, especially slots, I often hold my head over my winnings, even though some say that if I play one account continuously, I won't have many chances of winning. For me, it's the same.
In sports betting and lottery, these two types of bets are more profitable when calculated overall.

I can't call myself a fan of all sports, but I have some connection to football, and that's why I sometimes bet on my local championship, which is held in my country. Knowing certain players, their health, and the level of preparation of a particular team, I sometimes manage to place a correct bet on a victory by a given score. Yes, i do. i have no reason to spread my bet into the sport that i have zero knowledge on it. People who spread their bet across the sport that they didn't know about sounds only donate their money to the gambling platform.
