Everyone are free to do what works for them, I would rather let the banks take some money from the balance that move the money out of the bank, it is called emergency fund for a reason.
If I withdraw and turned the money into cash my country isn't even that safe, robbers can come in the night and take that money away, houses still get robbed this days even when we all know that people don't keep their money in the house.
If you keep your emergency fund in an investment, when you need it the value might be already down, putting you in great loss, even stable coin isn't that safe for emergency funds. If I am left with either leaving the money in the bank or storing in USDT I will still choose to leave it in the bank. Monthly bank charges isn't that much, and if large amount is been removed OP needs to get to the bank and complain.

So if your emergency funds have been with you for a very long time and you don't even use them, look for a 90 percent less risk business that brings profit in a very short time and invest it there. When you have an emergency and you have already used your emergency funds for your business you can simply borrow and since it is a business that profit you in a very short period you can balance up without it affecting you financially or your Bitcoin investment, remember I said look for 90 percent less risky business. Think about this.
It may be true that it is better to use emergency funds for other businesses that can generate profits in a short period of time, but under certain conditions, there are almost no businesses with a risk of 90 percent that can generate profits in a short period of time. If that is the case, I think it is better not to touch the money at all and just leave it as savings. After all, if it is not touched, it will not cause any harm. That is my opinion. This all depends on the individual's skill in using emergency funds to generate additional income. If you feel you lack the skills or are unsure about the opportunity, it's best not to use the money. While there's no risk of loss, inflation is inevitable. Personally when using emergency funds I divert them to gold because I believe gold is a stable asset, even one that tends to appreciate over time. In my area people often use gold to save or maintain emergency funds because it's easy to sell and the price tends to be stable even rising. The point of an emergency fund is that we can access it at any time in an emergency, and the risk of loss is small. Of course, when we talk about emergency funds, it's up to us where we want to use them. Basically, that money is just there as a safety net just in case we need something, we have funds to pull from, rather than scrambling to borrow money from different people just to get help, which is something I really want to avoid as much as possible. Because in my opinion, it's not good to suddenly have to borrow from a bank or even a friend during an emergency. Even if we solve the immediate problem by borrowing from the bank, eventually we'll still need to resolve that debt problem with the bank.

If you want to hold an emergency fund then obviously you shouldn’t hold it in a bank. In some countries it’s more likely than others that you may have trouble withdrawing your funds in an emergency but even First World. Countries have withdrawal limits & red tape to access your funds. Keep it in cash & or Bitcoin. You should be the only person who can access that money.
there are some places where you keep your emergency fund but you will not have access to make use of it immediately you needed it, so it will be better for you to have a physical cash on your desk so that whenever they attention of a emergency money is being needed it will not waste you time to have access to it, so many of us today cannot Trust Bank and we can also not trust Bitcoin because sometimes network can make or can cause a delay for the process of withdrawing in the bank and also through a bitcoin. Bitcoin is definitely not a suitable choice for an emergency fund because it is too volatile. But I think keeping money in the bank is a good option and even safer than cash. Because keeping too much cash also has risks such as robbery and theft. Although withdrawing a large amount of money from a bank can take a long time or have a daily withdrawal limit. But let's not forget that we live in a world where digital payments are becoming more common. Most stores, businesses and hospitals accept digital payments. Banks may restrict cash withdrawals but do not restrict money transfers, bill payments or online shopping. How can you say that banks are not safe?

Diverting emergency funds and investing them in gold is a brilliant alternative when someone is unable to think about starting a business. Gold has a stable value and is unlikely to depreciate. Furthermore, holding gold makes it easier to sell when they need funds again.
If someone has business acumen, they certainly won't let their money sit idle, which can depreciate its value if held for long periods.
I agree with you, if you keep your money sitting around for a long time, it will only lose its value over time, so it would be better to just keep your money in gold. Because gold has long been known as a safe asset, it is not very volatile, so it can be considered a stable investment, and at the same time it can be called a risk-free investment, so it is a very right decision to keep your money in gold instead of letting it sit idle. Gold is less volatile but not completely immune to fluctuations. For example, a few weeks ago, gold prices fell more than 10% in just one week and this has happened many times in the past. Gold is only really stable in the long term, but in the short term, it can still be volatile and unpredictable. So, it is still better to convert your emergency fund to gold instead of bitcoin. However, it is not advisable to convert everything to gold as the risk of short-term losses is still possible. For an emergency fund, cash is still the best option, IMO. Or we can combine fiat money and gold.

If there's a price dip or the market goes bearish when the need for the fund arises, it may not be enough to cover the problem or challenge because it would have dropped in price. Stablecoin or fiat is a better choice if you ask me.

Stablecoin or fiat is a better choice if you ask me. I don't understand why people want to keep their emergency fund in volatile assets, when you put your emergency fund in Bitcoin, the amount of money you have deposited, when the price drops due to volatility, that amount will be reduced a lot, and if you need the money at that moment, you will have to sell it at a much lower price. As a result, you will receive much less money than the amount you had deposited. It just needs to be kept in such a way that it is immediately available to you in times of need, and also so that it does not lose its value over time.

Keeping an emergency funds in the bank it's not a bad idea but the bankea would always have their way to deduct their charge which in turn would affect the amounts of money kept for that emergency purposes. Then having yourself borrow the money out unst a great idea cause when in dire need of it, you'll either be left stranded but one can decide to save up the funds else where it can be profitable void of those charges because emergency funds as the name implies is money set aside for emergency needs and wants . So there should be some valid space for it, something you can easily fall back to when the need be.

You're running a risk adjusted calculation and most people bypass that completely. Respect. The "get your money out of banks" crowd generally ignores geography. In some countries bank runs is a real history - people remember. In others, the greater threat is literally physical. I've thought about the following: My emergency fund is not optimized for maximum yield, it's optimized to be accessible in the 3am when something broke. That's a different math. The argument against investment drives me crazy. Emergency funds aren't investments. They're insurance for having to sell investments at the worst possible time. People putting emergency money in volatile assets aren't being sophisticated. They're simply changing the name of their risk tolerance to strategy. When you need the emergency cash, the markets tend to be down because emergencies are associated with economic stress. That's not a coincidence, that's correlation. Monthly fees annoying but they're predictable. You know what's not predictable? Stablecoin depegs, exchange freezes or having to explain to a hospital billing department that your money is 'locked in a smart contract'. Liquidity has value. Boring has value. The unsexy answer is usually the right one for funds you literally can not afford to lose.

That's right, I agree with you that it's better to keep emergency funds separate from Bitcoin. We should have an emergency fund, and it should be separate from personal savings, as it's for the future. Savings in a bank are probably better not considered an emergency fund because I personally keep money in the bank for the future, whether it's to buy something I want, like a car or a house.

It is better to keep emergency fund only in cash, only in fiat. If you invest it somewhere, then in case of emergency it can be a waste of time to sell that investment and get cash. Suppose you have invested your emergency fund in anything like gold. Now it is midnight, someone in your family is physically ill, you have taken him to the hospital emergency in 1:30 AM, at that time he asked you for money, but you only have that emergency fund but it is now gold. What will you do then? The hospital will not accept gold, it will make the situation worse more. So I think emergency fund should be kept only in cash.

We all have our own ways of saving for emergencies and I believe the most effective way to save is in cash. I wouldn't overthink this emergency fund, I think it only takes a small amount to cover emergencies and immediate cash needs, We can continue to save regularly without having to set a specific amount, and Money deposited in a bank can be used for many things, whether savings or other things and can be in large amounts, This can be two different things, it depends on us to manage our finances.
You can have a savings the called emergency savings but not all emergency funds can be considered as a savings. The definition depends on who is using the money and he plans to spend the money. If you have he money, save it and use it for what you think it's right, as long as it meet your obligations and what you want to use the money for, I think the purpose is serve. If you save up the money and didn't later use it for emergency but for another thing, it's yours to use anytime you want. There was one time I was keeping some change every month from my work, I didn't have any plans to use the money but yet was keeping it when I had no plans. Guess what use the money for, have it out to a friend that needed to pay for unplanned CS in the hospital, it did help as emergency funds even though it was planned to be for savings.

That's a good way to keep your savings away from anything that may happen, allocating spare money for emergency and not to allow yourself to touch your savings in case emergency expense happen, there are people who are good in budgetting and balancing their money, though there's a big difference from a regular minimum earner to those who got extra or have a much higer salary as they can save more while to those who got enough monthly salary they've got nothing but to survive.

I believe emergency funds and savings can be considered separate entities if you have a substantial income, If not either is fine, The important thing is that the money is there, regardless of where it's going or what it's being used for.
Each plan also has a clear purpose. For example, when someone wants to save money for emergencies, that money will specifically be used only when an emergency occurs. Similarly, savings designated for illness or similar purposes will generally not be used for anything else. Therefore, any difficulty will likely not immediately arise if we manage our money properly on a self-determined path. Similarly, the money we use on a daily basis is considered necessary money, and it's inappropriate to use it for other things that sacrifice our own living needs.

That means the risk indicator we're taking is slightly higher at 90 percent because it's quite a large number although I agree that compared to the emergency fund not being put to more productive use and just sitting in a bank or traditional storage facility that we use. We can choose according to the portion we can handle. For example, if we have the skills to develop a business, we can allocate those funds to the business. But if we don't have the skills to run a business, choosing to invest in Bitcoin with those funds is also very good. I believe that emergency funds are not used all the time, so people can make adjustments when something happens and the emergency funds are needed.

Sounds really good with the duration for holding emergency fund too long why not use it for investing in cryptocurrency? I think emergency fund use for unpredictable moment if any emergency happening to us today, tomorrow, next month or next several years later so too risk when moving emergency fund for investing in cryptocurrency. I agree what OP recommended to allocate emergency fund for investing in bitcoin but believing something bad happen to us can't predictable, difference if you have saving fund for your children education cost when reach degree level and right now still junior high school. You can use it that fund for investing in cryptocurrency but I don't think good ideas moving emergency fund for investing in cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin is not an ideal choice for an emergency fund because of the volatility. If there's a price dip or the market goes bearish when the need for the fund arises, it may not be enough to cover the problem or challenge because it would have dropped in price. Stablecoin or fiat is a better choice if you ask me.
Emergency funds are used to deal with urgent and unexpected situations. Therefore, it needs to be held as an asset that is highly liquid, stable, and available anytime, anywhere. Based on those criteria, gold is not the optimal choice because it is unstable in the short term and liquidity is not instantaneous. Bitcoin is even less suitable, and indeed, cash, bank deposits are the best options for emergency funds. We can access and use it immediately without worrying about market conditions and liquidity.

I think most people share the same point of view about emergency funds, when facing certain situations, cash and bank savings are the right choices. Both options offer convenience and can be accessed at any time. Meanwhile, gold and Bitcoin are not solutions for handling emergencies, they are more suitable as investments. We just need to manage the amount, adjusting it to the most difficult situation and unexpected we might face.

Everyone should have an emergency fund. It helps in recovering from disasters. If a person has an income, then he should definitely save some of that money for emergencies. Because you never know when a disaster will come. If you buy a house with all your money today, but if you become seriously ill tomorrow, that house will be of no use to you. You will need the money you have saved. With which you will get treatment and get well. So you should always keep some money in savings.
