Fiat was the first chance, but it is failing. Satoshi gave the world a second currency which is void of some of the lapses of fiat.

LonelyEcho, that in sooth touched my heart , you quoted somethin so poignant, dude. yeah Satoshi never ever seek fame, rather he built a system that would outlast fame. you know Bitcoin is not just a technology, it is a code based rebellion, a route to claim back control over a corrupt failed system &  a broken economy. I have grasped several meanings of the word "freedom" in Bitcoin. First, financial freedom, meaning no one is bound by regulations requiring the use of a particular currency. Bitcoin also embraces the concept of scarcity, a safeguard of value and growth compared to existing fiat currencies. Second, Bitcoin doesn't force anyone to adopt it as their primary currency, it is even intended as an alternative currency, a symbol of freedom for everyone. Finally, Bitcoin decentralized system allows anyone to participate in running a node, meaning Bitcoin belongs to everyone and that Bitcoin cannot be controlled by any single entity.

Additionally, I believe freedom has a broader meaning, it can even refer to wealth, but the ultimate goal and key is freedom. This means Bitcoin is intended for those who believe in it, and don't solely pursue wealth. Well, those are all my assumptions that have a basis, if I am wrong, please correct me.

The root problem with conventional currency is all the trust that's required to make it work. The central bank must be trusted not to debase the currency, but the history of fiat currencies is full of breaches of that trust. Banks must be trusted to hold our money and transfer it electronically, but they lend it out in waves of credit bubbles with barely a fraction in reserve. You are absolutely right that Satoshi's silence speaks louder than any government because I have never seen anything like the kind of discussion that happens around the world or in the crypto world whenever Satoshi is mentioned. Satoshi has proven that silence can do a lot.

If anyone want to create something incredible and different they should follow the example of Nakamoto, it is as simple as that but today the devs want excess flow of money quickly, so that they can travel around the world, it is why nothing else will be as good as bitcoin, of which there should be because Bitcoin can't solve everything.

Before this becomes very hard for people to understand I want to explain further, if Nakamoto build Ethereum it will be a different Ethereum, not something we have right now, this is what I am saying.

It is clear he just wanted to make something to fix the what he thought was a flawed centralized system of the current or traditional banks. The fact that he had hid his identity until now is telling because anyone would have killed to be in his position. Right now even people are taking his identity wishing that they can get his identity.

Are you referring to Bitcoin being used more as an investment instead of an alternative "second chance" currency? If that is what you mean, then I don't see a problem. Everybody won't use it for the same reasons. There are people who use Bitcoin for illegal activities alone. Does that represent what Bitcoin is?

Using it as an asset doesn't stop you from using it as a currency too. I use it as both. Just recently, I sent money to a friend of mine in a country where it would have been ordinary complicated to send money to, but the transaction simply happened between us in less than 10 minutes without any other person knowing about it. Without Bitcoin, this would not have been possible. I would have had to spend more money and time just to send money to my friend. At the same time, I hold bitcoin for a long time, hoping for huge profit in future and still use bitcoin to gamble too. So nothing stops us from using it for whatever reason we choose, as long as it's not illegal.

What contradicts the original plan of Satoshi, in my opinion, is when people use centralised exchanges to hold their bitcoin or the ETF guys.

Bitcoin price history, ATHs and bottoms. Chances come year by year, market cycle by market cycle and even in each market bull run, many drawdowns are great chances for people to buy bitcoin and get profit.

Truly, Bitcoin was created with freedom as the main purpose because the world was experiencing heavy centralization and control, something needed to change which was what pushed Satoshi. Unfortunately, the freedom that Bitcoin offers is being threatened by forces of censorship and anti privacy as you we have seen in the crackdown on mixers, privacy coins and all related services. So the freedom that Bitcoin brings is at the brink of being lost and I hope that does not happen. Satoshi did the free world a favor, not for fame and not for wealth.

You're right. Most people who have access to Bitcoin don't even know why it was created, and it's true. If there is a survey asking every Bitcoin holder or investor about why Bitcoin was created in the first place, I'm pretty sure more than 80% of them won't know the correct answer. The reason for that is simple: people these days are only interested in money and profits, and they will get into anything if they know it is going to make them money, and they won't even interrogate or try to understand what they are getting into, it's just money they care about.

Satoshi's vision isn't dead, and as long as there are at least some people who have enough knowledge to understand that Bitcoin wasn't actually created to become an investment asset but it was created as an alternative payment method which would allow peer to peer decentralized transactions, Bitcoin will have its actual identity and the reason why it got popular at the beginning.

That should be the main reason but when people barely use it, that’s where things get complicated, and I agree with you on that. Bitcoin should be used for self-custody, as a permissionless tool, and as a hedge against traditional finance. I don’t think it should be called a "second chance", it’s more like "we finally have a choice".

Its far more beyond freedom and its seemly not to be understood by many till now, if Satoshi wanted to cheat the system just as many founders do for their own benefit, bitcoin would have crashed couple of years back. I wonder if Satoshi would ever come back to sell off his bitcoin and im just wondering for what reasons would he do that.

For Satoshi to have this mind of relieving people from financial bondage, he is not a poor guy, he might have reached a climax of richness before implementing his idea and i doubt he could ever come back to show himself.

We're here and this is the forum that satoshi made, it means that we've taken it and thanks to him. We'll never forget what he has done not only to this community but also to the world. The contribution that he has given to the great wealth transfer has really disrupted a lot of industries. It's not only in the tech sector but also in the world of finance. For which before, many were ignoring how influential and good bitcoin is. Now, they're in a hurry in accumulating as many as they can because they know that there's a greater future that awaits to those who has it.

Bitcoin is created for full control and freedom but people accepted Bitcoin while using it differently. Some people prioritize freedom, full control and privacy but there are people who don't care about these things and decide to use centralized exchanges.

So you can see Satoshi Nakamoto only created Bitcoin blockchain that works for everyone while with different purposes and approaches, people will gain different benefits with Bitcoin as well as take different risks.

Satoshi Nakamoto has no power to force people doing anything from Bitcoiners to Bitcoin outsiders.

This is literally the strength of bitcoin. if satoshi created bitcoin just to gain financially from it, it would have never lived long enough to where it is now. if it was all about the fame, it would have just ended like one of those pump and dump project and nothing more. that bitcoin is still standing till this very moment tells of one thing and that is that it creator tried solving the problem of the world and never tried to make himself popular through bitcoin. the day bitcoin shift from what it currently stands for to something else that does not represent the freedom it should stand to represent, that will be the start of it downfall. this is part of the reason why it is not a good thing for us to assume that government regulation of bitcoin is ever a good thing.
