Sportsbet.io Announcement on Bitcointalk Future Involvement

This is not a good news to hear. But it has happened and we can't do otherwise but to accept the fate. Steve sorry for everything. There are some decisions government take that accept humanity and also them. You said you were sacked with 300 employees which is a large number and the government will not accommodate that number in their office and will make to them to roaming around looking for jobs. This is very bad. Government is to create enabling environment for people to operate businesses instead government is using hard laws to pursue businesses away from their jurisdictions.
Steve I know it is hard at the initial time but things will be okay soonest.

You've described the feeling of the majority here.

This shows how concerned these governments are with fostering employment, doing things haphazardly and then blaming entrepreneurs for it, while they present themselves as the protectors of the nation, giving the population a false sense of security.

I didn't know Steve and the other organizers or marketing people at SB and the other casino companies mentioned, but they are probably cool guys.

The community is very grateful. It's very sad to hear about this mass layoff.

Government officials are almost never fired when they're not serving the public's interests.

That's shocking and very sad news to hear. I didn't saw this coming because it looked that things is going great for Sportsbet. This marks end of era on Bitcointalk and I will miss you a lot. Sportsbet was great example for other casinos how they should operate. You have done and gave a lot for community.

Man, I doubt things is working  in this way. If parent company is sacking their employees, I doubt that they're going to enter Bitcointalk and crypto gambling in general with new project.

i don't have much to say about this other than it's very unfortunate to see this happen to a brand like sportsbet.
my guess this is just the start with governments making it harder and harder for crypto casinos to operate, so i would not be surprised if we see more announcements like this in the near future.

i doubt it. if you read the press conference, they laid off 280 employees, and unfortunately Steve was one of them from what he mentioned in the OP.

Sad to see known names and brand exiting the forum after a long year's of various partnership with forum members, although i have never participated in any of the promotions but all my days fron newbie to legendary i have always seen sportsbet promotions around this forum and also various forum sponsored programmes.

whatever have a beginning will surely ends at some point, good thing is that you guys are ending this on a good note, so success in the future endeavours to all the team.

This is horrible news. I think Sportsbet was the only casino to this date that never caused any problems. I can't remember whether I ever needed to use their customer support. It has been said a dozen times already, but this is certainly a big loss for us as a community. There will hopefully be a reunion in one way or another.

Gosh, Sportsbet leaving the forum would never even cross my wildest dream. Not gonna lie, I actually think that there is some good stuff going around when I read the thread's title but its pretty sad when I read the content

Governments are supposed to make the life of people easier but they create laws and ban whatever they don't like and say everyone must accept this which affect people who enjoy it and also the people who made it their way of making money/employee. Hope this will not affect the sacked employees and they should be able to find a job real soon.

I don't know exactly what the problem was that got to this point - but the government through its regulations may have been the reason why some crypto casinos in the industry closed down. Governments want to control and regulate everything and all businesses are required to comply with these regulations - including casinos who operating under their jurisdiction. So I'm not surprised some companies have had to make the difficult decision and shift their focus to regulated markets. Correct me if I misunderstood this topic.

To anyone of you affected by the difficult decisions The Yolo Group had to make - I hope you find success elsewhere. This is not the end of everything - the new chapter will begin for you.

Thank you Sportsbet.io and especially Steve for being the arm of the franchise to us here on the forum.

The casino will be truly missed not only for being a great brand to represent but also for bringing bitcoin to the public sports fan who watched the BTC logo on several different EPL team jerseys over the years and scrolling past on the billboards during their matches.

@Steve, any chance to somehow find someone that could buy out just SB and perhaps continue in a similar (though smaller) capacity? Considering your experience and all of your connections here and elsewhere - it could be a nobrainer for some brands to take it over and continue running it under its original name. I'm sure you've exhausted every option already so my apologies if this feels like a utopian idea.

This would be the best outcome if it could somehow be possible. But who knows, there is still the rest of the month for a savior to swoop in and save the brand and casino.

Well, this is not the type of news one would want to see. SB along with alac and BC are all very long term presence on bitcointalk. I sincerely hope that there is a change of approach at some point and we see more of sportsbet.

It's really a shocker reading this news, truth be told Sportsbet.io have been the core and biggest part of the gambling community on bitcointalk and it's going to be really weird going forward without SB in the forum, it's been more than just a community with SB, but nothing last forever no matter how good it is, however, it's been an extreme honor to have known a lot of wonderful individuals, from Steve, Jeremypwr, LFC_Bitcoin, and Cro2 through Sportsbet oriented and sponsored campaigns, even though we often only share conversations on threads, the bond on grew way better with SB involved, every sporting event have always been one to look forward to with SB around, from sports with zero fans in the forum to begin with, I don't think I would have ever watched a cricket game or be glued snooker without SB....

It's been such a great time with SB and I can only wish Steve, Jeremypwr and everyone else (the community here) affected all the very best going forward.

This is indeed a shocking news to me and other forum members because Sportsbet.io have been a leader when it comes to cryptocurrency casinos. Having sponsored so many sports events including some notable football clubs, Sportsbet.io played a key role in making Bitcoin and cryptocurrency popular and it is something to be proud of. It is just unfortunate that they will be leaving this space thereby creating a vacuum that will be very difficult to fill. I wish them well in the new area they are venturing into and I wish there will be anything that can be done to revise this decision.

It will be weird logging on and not checking the SB thread anymore..

Regarding SB, many of you haven't had a chance to be close to them. I've worked in big companies and on big projects, but never did I have so much fun working than with SB guys.
It was always so casual and easygoing while keeping it professional, meaningful and for the benefit of the wider community.

There are too many memories to count, personally I feel that the foothold SB left on the forum is almost impossible to emulate.

To Steve I will say a huge thank you, you're fantastic at what you do and are the major reason of SB's standing on the forum.
Keep smacking them out of the park and as always, let us know when you're in the neighborhood.

Really sorry to see you guys cease operations here on the forum as you have been around for so long. You've built a respectable brand to this point and seems kinda insane to not see the brand any longer after this month. So many users have had a lot of fun participating in your competitions, enjoyed feeling safe gambling with the sites, and the comraderie that has come along with your events.
