I was really shocked when I saw this, since Sportsbet is one of the most established casinos on the forum, a close rival to Stake.

I’m sure many of my fellow Filipinos were also surprised, so I shared the news there to make them aware.
FYI sportsbet mawawala na sa forum.

Hopefully they’ll post in the local section to talk about their experiences or maybe drop by here to say their goodbyes.

Thanks for everything Sportsbet.io, Steve, and jeremypwr for all of the events you have brought here. I remember when Sportsbet showed up for the first time and launched the Euro 2016 promo, that was one of biggest promos at that time and after that kept launching big events until now. I just saw this thread and also got me thinking why those campaign participants are no longer wearing the sigs of the mentioned campaigns.

It's sad to see these long term campaigns gone out of the forum, but every good thing has come to an end, right?

While that can be an opportunity for the other campaigns and casinos to be back and be aggressive with their marketing and be with it again.

It's all about cost cutting and another sad thing there is the laying off which is massively happening for almost every industry.

I only found out about this yesterday.
I don't bet as much as I did in the past but it was comforting to know that Sportsbet was there whenever I felt like trying my luck with a sports bet here and there. Your departure will leave a big hole that others will try to fill but who knows if they ever will.

I have never expected such news when I was just scrolling on my phone in the morning. On the gambling section of the forum, Sportsbet looks like it is leading the gambling section. We didn't expect you guys to leave that way. It's just not about the signature campaign, but your operation from the forum matters for the gambling section. The campaign would end at any point; it doesn't matter at all, but the forum will miss you always. Also, I regret to see you are forced to leave the Sportsbet company as well.

I can remember I have solved a case with you personally about the allegations. It was a pretty good experience, and I realised how supportive you are. Not sure if the forum gamblers get this kind of support through emails. So overall forum gamblers will miss you definitely. Forum users will realise how hard it is to get support from the gambling sites through mail or live support.

Ouch, that's both a surprising and shocking news.
It's something I never expected, and even more so at this time now that cryptocurrencies are gaining the long-awaited mainstream recognition (with its pros and cons, but that's another story).

I understand regulation issues but I think they could adopt same solution other major gambling sites/sportsbooks did by moving their headquarters in some more a more legislatively favorable country.
It's a pity to see you go and hope you, Steve and Jeremy, won't struggle in relocating, especially considering the experience you have gained.

I saw this announcement late and was quite surprised by what was conveyed because honestly I was one of the people who felt the benefits and of course at some moments I benefited from SB but in the end this sad news came which made me a little dazed.

I may be a new person who didn't follow the development since the beginning but 7 years is definitely not a short time.

Hopefully there will be better updates in the future and I expect that to happen even though it may be unlikely for now but it doesn't rule out the possibility of it happening.

Steve, Jeremypwr and all those who have always successfully run bitcointalk my sincere appreciation to you all.

Well, nobody expected this to happen...

If I understand correctly, they are consolidating under a single brand, Yolo.com. And they are shifting their strategy to operate only in fully regulated and licensed markets.

They recently pulled operations out of India and Japan, and some other big casinos experienced the same thing (if I remember correctly, Stake from the UK). I guess we can say there is some big pressure, and the Yolo group thinks that the era of unregulated crypto gambling is near the end...

I'd wanted to write something that ended up long-winded. And then it all seemed pretty pointless.

The news hit me personally, having made real friendships here on the forum and with Sportsbet people over the years, beginning at least from 2019 when I met the then-CEO, followed by countless Beers with Steve watching football and F1. All good things come to an end, and maybe the way crypto and Bitcoin is viewed is changing. That's the price of legitimacy, I suppose.

I know Steve will find something better, and I hope he can use this thread as evidence of the sort of impact Sportsbet had on its community, and how much Steve had to do with it. Thank you.

When you see a new thread from SB, it's usually beers with Steve or something in the lines of freebets for some simple tasks but seeing this **heavy heart** , I don't think we have a Sportsbook that comes close to community engagement on the Bitcointalk forum and Sportsbet absence will certainly be felt.

Happy to have been part of this journey one way or another, hope Yolo Group rescinds it's decision or keeps this part of the business.

I just heard the terrible news. Everything nice eventually comes to an end. It is sad to see them leaving. Sportsbet.io will forever be remembered as one of the most brilliant casinos ever been promoted on bitcointalk. It has been 7 years huh… Time flies fast damn.

Just read about this feeling sad because this was one of the best journey in last few years they have done great job many competitions and other activities bring good excitement for community I won dozen of free bets even my luck never been good with gambling but still their job was always amazing.
Steve is one of the best few times engaged through DM always he gives quick and positive reply which give good view about his job and personality hopefully community will be having him again in any other casino which will bring good things thankful for your all services and work which done for community.
In last few years many casinos came and gone, but community will keep remembering services of Sportsbet and @Steve because they bring something extraordinary for us thanks again and good luck for your rest of life.

Yes, it can be but it doesn’t mean that the way Sportsbet.io ended their activity here on bitcointalk will be the same for other sites.
Most casinos I know that left bitcointalk didn’t make any kind of announcement like this. There are some, but not quite like what Sportsbet.io did.

Also, in my opinion, nothing can surpass sportsbet.io when it comes to being generous to the bitcointalk community. But I see new platforms trying to adopt what sportsbet.io did here on bitcointalk. And that isn't betpanda.io .. I know most of the user posted here know what the site I'm referring.

Hey Steve, you are welcome. Good to see you are still active here; I thought you had already handed over your account to Sportsbet. Good to see you pass on the words we shared; hope Sportsbet will evaluate these words. It doesn't matter whether they run their marketing around the forum or not, but we want Sportsbet to be active here and support our forum users once they face any difficulties. I already expressed my own opinion in an earlier post.

However, it's Sportsbet's decision what they will decide about the forum. But I wish you to be active on the forum by your own account. It doesn't necessarily require you to be representative of Sportsbet. As a person, I know you as a very good person, as I said. I have worked with you on some issues. And you were friendly enough to cooperate. Hope we will see you on the forum with a new name.

Am just seeing this now, this is indeed a very sad news to hear the population is too much. Now in this economy it will be a bit difficult for the whole 300 plus individuals to get another job quickly. But I which you guys luck.
However, what The Cryptovator said is right, the sportbet team should also be active on the forum incase if any issues between sportbet and the customers, since there are still sportbet customers in the forum.
