Both skills and luck is important in sports betting. Skills in betting is needed to predict decisively, studying statistics and knowing the most possible outcome based on such calculations. Everyone knows that overall betting depends on luck. But in the case of sports betting, the situation is different in some cases. In the case of sports betting, a lot depends on luck, skill, experience, information and analysis. A conscious gambler analyzes many things in depth before a match and bets on it. A conscious gambler bets on team performance, player and half condition, injury report and so on. And many people win in sports betting in most cases, that is why sports betting is different from any other type of betting. However, many people want to use sports betting as a source of income. I think I would categorize the games to be partial luck and total luck. Majority of casino games are based on luck. I don't know the kind of skill someone requires with spinning a slot machine or dice and others like that. You don't require skill to do that and its outcome is not going to be how fast it spin because it will eventually end where it is suppose to. For sports like field events, you need strength and patient to be able to withstand whatever challenge. So choosing outcome in such situation, you look at those qualities to choose your action. So it is not just luck or skill, it depends on the game.

Yes there can be a level of skill in gambling, there are actually some individuals that are good and have skill in sport analysis.

I know luck can beat skill in all manner whether you have been in the game for several years, someone that is new in the system can dominate quickly that could make you ask a lot of questions that might surprise you.

Your skill can help your to gain knowledge and understanding some certain rules that will enable your to make profitable decision so that you can be having smooth results from betting and this can never be consistent if their is no luck to secure your winnings when your skill can not save you. The favorite team can be defeated by small team. This is what we call as a luck factor, the analysis can be wrong due to unlucky factor.

Not sure how the percentage. However, I always use analysis before I bet in any match, especially football match. I think the analysis is a must although we also hope for the luck factor.

Many folk give priority to skill in the initial stage of gambling, but when they see that the outcome of gambling depends on luck most of the time they give less priority to skill. In most games except sports betting luck plays a big role in winning. If you give priority to your skill in sports betting it will put you ahead of others in winning. But you should believe that luck is an important factor in winning no matter how experienced you are as a gambler. With increasing experience, your guesses will be more likely to be correct in betting, but you should not be confident in winning and take excessive risks.

Unexpected outcomes play out alot, that's way sports are enjoyable, unless they are constantly making money from it then nobody really likes to watch a games which they can completely predict over and over again, but a gambler would, though they wouldn't necessarily enjoy the game just that they are always winning, but sports doesn't works this way so luck comes in, your skills will play on important role in sports gambling, you can find out about this when someone who knows nothing about a sports gambling on a combination of them, they usually lose even with luck being in the game but someone who knows about the game has a slightly higher chance of winning, so skill beats luck in most cases.
