Gambler or Player - which one are you?

How about you guys? Do you consider yourself a gambler or a player?

In my opinion, the distinction between a player & a gambler is not as pronounced as many folks perceive. You can study the odds, develop your bankroll management strategy & even act with a degree of discipline, however, when it comes down to real, hard earned cash, emotion will kick in. Believe me when I say that the most strategic of players are still gambling because luck is the final boss, regardless of how great of a strategy you have. I would say the difference between a player & a gambler is simply how they respond to loss, gamblers chase losses, whereas players break down the losses. actually we are all gamblers in our own self deluding ways, one more so than others.

I have a mix of both, that's why I'm balanced and I don't have a problem with gambling I also like to gamble, but I'm not the type to be in the casino or gambling and making bets every day No, I do it sometimes for fun, sometimes because I want to win and show skill. I think that's what keeps me well.

For me a gambler plays for fun or thrill, sometimes just to pass the time. Nothing wrong with that but emotions usually take over, chasing losses, betting on impulse, or just playing for the rush.

A player on the other hand treats gambling like a skill game.
They aim to win study the odds improve their strategy, manage their bankroll and learn from every result.

Personally, I like to see myself as a player not just throwing bets for fun but with discipline and a plan. Still, I admit there are times I get caught up in the excitement

According to your definition I would have to go with gambler, I don't believe there is anything like skill when It comes for relying on probability for a chance at a reward. It's just not happening, although with proper self control you can manage your losses and help yourself improve as a gambler.

I sort of feel like you have your definitions backwards.  I would consider myself a player and not a gambler, but from your description is sounds like I'm a gambler.  I am in the sense that I bet based on the odds, and not the result I want.  I relate more to the term player though, as I just play games for fun most of the time.  I feel like gamblers aren't playing for fun, but to make money.  Maybe that isn't a popular take, but I don't like being labeled a gambler and much more identify to player, as that's what I've been called far more often in my life.
