Basically in my opinion anyone the finds it offensive when bitcoin is called crypto is just being naive or doesn't even know what crypto means. Crypto is basically a short form of cryptocurrency and bitcoin is based on a cryptographic network.

No, they are not naive about what crypto means, and they are also not naive when they said "Bitcoin is not crypto."
No matter how ridiculous the statement may be, they are correct. But it's an idiomatic expression to tell the people that Bitcoin was created with an altruistic concept, like its consensus mechanism, no leader, no premine (which is the number one reason most of us supported it), and the altcoin team imitates the BTC concept to create their shitcoin but to enrich their pockets.
So whenever they say "BTC is not crypto," they are technically saying BTC is a genuine decentralized crypto, created for the benefit of mankind, not the team involved, which is what we see shitcoin market.

The only correct and valid argument is crypto currencies are divided into majorly Bitcoin and altcoins because if it's not bitcoin it's altcoins or probably shit coin (which is still a sub under altcoin). They are all crypto.

We can't stop these people if they prefer not to view bitcoin as crypto. I would say they also have their own basis, but their basis do not work accordingly to us, and that's not a problem in my honest opinion. You are absolutely right to be confused because it is very okay to technically see bitcoin as a cryptocurrency and as a matter of fact it is even the first cryptocurrency ever created. but I can say the reason why some bitcoin maxis say bitcoin is not crypto is more ideological than technical. They have this believe that bitcoin stands far above other cryptocurrencies in purpose and design so you cannot categorize bitcoin as a cryptocurrency but for me, I would have easily rest my case by relying more on the fact that bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and others are also cryptocurrency but altcoins. So the difference is bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrencies so it stands out among others while other altcoins are less reputable and stable.

Everyone has the right to call bitcoin whatever they feel matches how they perceive it, and it should be acceptable as long as the description matches the features of Bitcoin, just as some prefer to call it a digital gold rather than cryptocurrency, while some still call it digital currency which that word "digital" represents everything that could be electronically stored, transmitted etc.
